Vision for a residential neighborhood public space and fa Undisclosed client

We all know that ecological issues of today need to lead

to different and innovative neighborhood development. This neighborhood is one of them. It is an ambitious and innovative development in the Romanian real Estate market, a 31 Hectares sustainable development taking place in the edge of Bucharest.

We joined the pilot project with another architecture office

in 2019 to deliver an architectural and urban concept design for the Central Area of the neighborhood, but also to generate a set of guidelines for urban design for the entire development.

Our aim was to construct and shape an “urban imaginary

in correlation with the neighborhood core principles: A sustainable Mixed Community that introduces new spatial qualities in Romania and combines a High-quality with resource-efficient life. We believe the project’s success could translate into a real opportunity to redefine suburbia and the standards of living in Bucharest.

In order to create a coherent and strong image,

representative for the neighborhood but also for the north suburbia of Bucharest, the central public area is an urban experience as an alternative to a commercial center, a place where inhabitants feel home, with a familiar human scale and unique character. In order to achieve this outcome, the project aim for a strong identity through Quality, Sustainability and Education. Open public space, squares, lawn, commercial and social facilities, parks and playgrounds lead to a more vibrant public life, a safe environment and a sense of security in the community and outside visitors. Ensuring a diversity and mixity of functions, the central island caters the needs of different generation. The neighborhood core area take place as reference for suburban development in Romania.

MultipleXity Center for Arts,Technology and Experiment, Competition

The MultipleXity site is located in a heterogeneous,

very dynamic urban context, influenced by various forces: large real estate investments (ISHO), a strong presence of the social substrate, Christian-Orthodox (church), a strong commercial character (Badea Cârțan square) , recreation area (Bega), the component of historic residential and Take Ionescu - the axis of entry and distribution in the city. Currently, the district in which the new civil service is proposed presents itself as a complex urban orchestra, but dissonant and sometimes outdated. In this context, MultipleXity can only function as a connector, an element of harmonization. For the whole to work harmoniously over time, it is necessary to organize and harmonize each space, and to establish a relationship between the different types of public spaces.

On the one hand, CONSERVATION: preservation and

capitalization of fixed and mobile industrial heritage, a discourse on technology, history and the beginnings of public transport in Timisoara; a place to discover the past. On the other hand, CONVERSION: the transformation of industrial heritage, through “adaptive reuse”, in order to serve as an infrastructure to capitalize on the creative potential of the city, an exhibition and investigation complex, but above all a ‘EXPERIMENT; In the middle, as an articulation between the two discourses (past vs future of industrial heritage), is the commemorative house, a space dedicated to the personality of Corneliu Mikloși, a personality passionate about preserving the memory of the utilitarian and industrial past. from Timisoara and an innovator, an explorer of technology. We are in fact talking about three distinct public facilities, three values of the productive identity of the city.

During the design of the architectural solution, the

industrial heritage was treated as a priority, representing not only the primer, the base layer on which we built the new identity of MX, but also the generator of functions and related programs. of the main theme.

Vision and Concept for the conversion of the basements ROVE

Fix Oradea is an ambitious project for building a maker

space, co-working space and event space in the basement of the baroque palace of the city. The building is a 3-wing building designed in Baroque style during the 18e century. The basement, made out of brick is only lighted by smalls openings providing indirect light.

Combining different functions, the adaptive reuse of the

historical building is a principle that goes hand in hand with the maker movement. Maker culture emphasizes learning-throughdoing (active learning) in a social environment and emphasizes informal, networked, peer-led, and shared learning motivated by fun and self-fulfillment.

To answer this statement, we choose to work to go with a

clean and simple design in order to emphasize the architectural patrimonial. The general layout associate with a precise lighting design and materials carefully choosen, allow visitors and worker to relate to the history of the building.

Most of the spaces are used as they are and some

wooden boxes rhythm the longest spaces. These boxes are hosting studios and meeting rooms. A particular attention is given to vegetation and plants. We believe that in such a big space, surrounded by brick only, the contrast of plant would warm and give a really nice atmosphere to the whole area.

Finally, materials and objects were chosen and designed

in order to be build in house in the maker space (wood, metal and glass). A self-sufficient process that can help grow the business also.

Reconversion of an activity building into student housing Diploma project

The project consist in a Reconversion of an activity

building into student housing

On the border between urban planning, social dialogue

and architecture, my intervention tends to reconnect with the history of the place in order to revive these abandoned buildings. A dynamic and multifunctional district that can generate, on an urban scale, a new attractiveness in the center of Bucharest.

To achieve this, I made the choice to preserve and

enhance what makes the specificity of the built heritage, while proposing an opening and new function, allowing different individuals to meet and walk these spaces they had never had access to.

At the architectural scale, the project of conversion of

the newspaper Adevarul is part of a process of valorization and adaptation of the constructive language. It tends to preserve as much as possible the existing state, while allowing it to acquire a new function. An intervention that wants to minimize the revival construction costs.

Favoring an economy of means and a simple, flexible

and reversible organization, the proposal makes it possible to invest durably, by offering it the capacity to adapt according to the needs of its inhabitants.

In conclusion, a reflection on the student housing and

the rooms allows a new answer to a program that can not be neglected.

Vision

VĂŠ! Vision and Concept for the decreasing of the Luminy International Workshop

We put ourselves in the posture of a group of architects

who will manage the Campus site of Luminy for ten years. This period will be a transition between a campus to The National Park of the Calanques.

To start, we empty Luminy Campus of all its functions.

We imagine that the different Marseille’s campuses, which are currently scattered each at one end of the city, are approaching each other in the center in the coming years. The idea is to reveal the potential of the site by proposing a place of experimentation, a terrain of possibilities. Make Luminy a place for culture and agriculture. Willingness to visually and structurally unify the site to the context. All this space is treated like a vegetal tablecloth that connects Luminy with the Calanques which surround it.

After emptying the campus of its functions, it is a

question of emptying all the buildings of their furnitures. The goal is to magnify the past of the place by the strength of the building structures. Re-establishing agriculture, using what was created on the site worked in the past.

This moment of transition aims to show that the human

being is not necessarily harmful to the nature. One way to question the rules of The National Park that are considered too thaugh.

Densify the border of a BIO village to tend towards auton Master 2 project

The project tries to be a response to the Corens village‘s

goals. In other words, how to help the sustainable development of the village? From «the first Bio village of France», can Correns become biovillage? From its rich agricultural history, how can the village regain an autonomy allowing self-sustainability?

Self-sustainability «is based on the assumption that a

new co-evolutionary relationship between inhabitants-producers and territories can create a sustainable balance between human settlement and environment, linking today’s habits, knowledge and techniques to ancestral the environmental wisdom».

The project is anchored in the landscape along 3 axes,

practicable or just visual, they allow to create a relationship between the landscape and the village. Keeping up with the evolution of the Béal district, the project is setting up individual houses, mostly for homeownership, in order to promote social diversity and neighborhood balance. So that each house corresponds to the lifestyle of its future inhabitants. The approach of achivement leads to the self-construction.

The public space is thought out in detail, so that each

square meter is used in a friendly, sustainable and appropriate way. The gardens give the street a green path which is approachable by the owners of the house and meant to be shared with the neighbors or even other visitors.

The wine district is a place of life on the edge of the

village. The different spaces in the wine district lead to a more sustainable lifestyle. The evolution of the neighborhood, over a long time, allows residents to become aware, primairly playing a vital role.

Various

Renderings for different competitions and projects Various

This chapter represents my work on several images

I made for competitions and projects during my experinces in offices but also for personal purposes. These images are additioned to the one presented previously in the portfolio. All projects I made renderings for are projects I have been collaborating for design.

The process to render these images was as follows: 3D

made out of Revit, render out of Lumion 10 and final adjustments made in photoshop. I truly believe in real time render software to provide fast images. They are powerfull tools to project an image out of a design. I am also learning V-ray associated with 3D-max for more precise and realistic renderings.
