Just as your connection to campus is going to feel a lot different if you commute from home, your other off-campus housing choices will not match up to the variety of floor plans and rate options to be found in our six different apartment communities located along the perimeter of campus.

Each campus apartment community has its own personality, but ALL provide a combination of independence with just the right amount of support, services and programming. And we would be remiss if we did not mention again the ideal proximity to campus facilities and resources. You’ll enjoy living on your own without actually having to, you know, live all on your own.

And yes, we are glad you asked. There are even several Living-Learning Communities to choose from in our campus apartments.

International and domestic students alike may benefit from the issues and perspectives examined in the Global Scholars LLC. The Pathways LLC was developed exclusively for new and continuing Transfer students, and the Stride 2 Success LLC can fill a unique niche for 2nd year students only.

Meal Swipes represent “meals” that are accepted at Lothian and Glasgow Residential Restaurants, and sometimes at other campus dining locations such as The Barn.

Dining Dollars are used like general currency and allow you to purchase full meals or pick up snacks or sundries at any Dining Services-operated restaurant or convenience store on campus.

Guest Passes allow you to share a meal with family or friends wherever Meal Swipes are accepted on campus.

Lottery selection does not guarantee space or preferences, only an opportunity to select from the available inventory. If you do not see a certain preference during this process, you can assume that it is not available and you will need to consider an alternative. Once a room is selected, students must submit their contract and $200 Security Deposit online.

We utilize a variety of tools to keep you safe, including restricted access to all residence hall communities, video surveillance, uniformed patrols, late-night escorts and community awareness.

Part of keeping residents safe is keeping them healthy. Three years ago, as the pandemic hit, we quickly adapted our buildings and procedures: limiting occupancy; shifting restaurants to take-out only; increasing sanitation schedules; mandating weekly testing for both residents and staff and establishing a highly effective quarantine program in order to assist those in need and protect everyone else.

Fortunately, the worst appears to be over and campus life has largely returned to normal. By our example in the worst of times, you can rest assured that we will continue to zealously protect the health and safety of everyone who lives and works with us.

Emergency call boxes and blue emergency phones, like the one pictured here, can be found throughout our residential communities. And our highly trained, live-in staff are available 24/7.

Finally, UCR’s own professional police department, has its headquarters within optimal proximity to our residences.
