New Exchange open for business buisness

The lord mayor of Mainz, and representatives of the Mainz city government, visited USAG Wiesbaden April 14 in order to familiarize themselves with their American neighbors. Lord Mayor Michael Ebling and others took the time to tour the garrison led by Col. Mary Martin, USAG Wiesbaden commander, and Garrison Command Sgt. Maj. Roy Rocco. While here, they received a windshield tour of Clay Kaserne, visited the airfield, received a tour of the U.S. Army Europe Mission Control Center and briefing on USAREUR,

and spent time interfacing with their garrison counterparts. “I’m very thankful we were invited for this visit,” Ebling said. “It’s the first time I have had the opportunity to see this historic installation and the command center for U.S. Army Europe.” He also said it was very impressive to see all of the new construction he’d known was happening over the past few years. Another member of the group, Hannsgeorg Schönig, chairman of the Christian Democratic Union-City Council faction, said the base has changed a lot since he last had the chance to visit.
