USO tour raises spirits of KMC by Airman 1st Class Hailey Haux 86th Airlift Wing Public Affairs

Members of the 86th Airlift Wing greet Navy Adm. James A. Winnefeld Jr., the ninth Vice Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, as he arrives at the Contingency Aeromedical Staging Facility April 20 on Ramstein. During the tour of United Service Organizations and Armed Forces Entertainment, Winnefeld, was joined by a cast of entertainers and visited with troops stationed overseas. The tour consisted of live performances, and the group visited different organizations throughout the KMC.

The United Service Organizations’ spring tour brought the Vice Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and a cast of celebrities to show their support for service members and their families April 19 on Ramstein. “It has been a wonderful opportunity to meet great Airmen and other joint warriors who are here serving our country and their families,” said Navy Adm. James A. ADVON team arrives at RAF Fairford by Senior Airman Katherine Holt 86th Airlift Wing Public Affairs RAF FAIRFORD, England — The advance echelon team, or ADVON, comprised of 14 service members from the 435th Air Ground Operations Wing and the 86th Airlift Wing with help from the 5th Quartermaster Company arrived at RAF Fairford, April 19. The behind-the-scenes team traveled to the bare base to make final preparations for the 37th Airlift Squadron’s off-station training, scheduled to begin April 23. “We are here to make sure everything is ready when the OST begins Monday,” said Tech Sgt.
