AE, Ramstein units provide critical support after Kabul attacks Story and photos by Staff Sgt. Leslie Keopka 86th Airlift Wing Public Affairs Approximately 25 personnel came together on a realworld aeromedical evacuation mission Aug. 9 on Ramstein to save the lives of service members injured after recent attacks in Kabul. The medical professionals were a collection of KMC Fire Emergency Services, Aeromedical Evacuation and Critical Care Air Transport Team personnel who assisted with medical treatment during the seven-hour trip from Bagram Airfield, Afghanistan. The 3rd Air Force Commander Lt. Gen. Timothy M. Ray, toured the 86th Airlift Wing, 435th Air Ground Operations Wing and the 435th Air Expeditionary Wing Aug. 4 and 6 on Ramstein. Ray recently took command and received immersion tours from a variety of wings to see how they support and conduct operations in and around Europe and Africa. “The Airmen under the 86th (AW)
