WIESBADEN, Germany — Lt. Gen. Donald Campbell Jr. formally assumed command of U.S. Army Europe during a Jan. 9 ceremony at Clay Kaserne. Adm. James Stavridis, commander of U.S. European Command, gave the keynote address at the ceremony. The admiral said Campbell and his wife, Ann, are perfect for USAREUR, and their return to duty in Germany and the move of USAREUR’s headquarters here symbolizes the U.S. commitment to Europe, marking the beginning of a new era for USAREUR. n examination fee of €55 per pet owner will be implemented Feb. 1 for all pets imported from a non-European Union country. The Kaiserslautern County Administration, in coordination with Rheinland-Pfalz state authorities, will implement this new fee in accordance with European Union Ordinance No. 998/2003, which regulates the import of dogs, cats and other pets into the European Union. Upon arrival into the country, pets will be examined by the veterinarian near the Ramstein Passenger Terminal’s baggage claim area. These examinations are conducted by the county veterinary office for the German Federal Customs. Only credit cards will be accepted and a credit card reader is available at the terminal to pay the fee. The fee will be the military member’s responsibility and will not be reimbursed on a travel voucher. Military personnel flying into Frankfurt
