History & introduction The Warrior Race is an obstacle course racing series that spans eight events across five provinces. The event features three distances of increasing
difficulties, sparking an obstacle-racing craze that has
seen the event grow from 40,000 people in the first year to 80,000 since Jeep South Africa
became involved in sponsorship. The approach of
generating high impact and engaging content for social media has allowed the Warrior Race to reach a massive audience organically without expensive promotion, hitting over 100,000 people in the week leading up to events. The Warrior Race Facebook page grew from scratch to 40,000 likes in just 18 months, reaching over 400,000 unique users in 2014 alone. Last year also saw sold out events in every category and skill level - with the addition of a specialized kiddies zone due to popular demand - while still catering for the elite and the masses.
