This trip offers an opportunity to partake in a journey that covers a lot of terrain and enables you to make multiple ascents on peaks of moderate elevation. The journey has many visual highlights with stunning views of the surrounding Himalayan peaks of Everest, Cho Oyu, Nuptse, Lhotse, Makalu, Ama Dablam and many, many more.
Initially, we trek into the Khumbu to acclimatise and then we tackle Lobuche East. This ascent includes ideal terrain for refreshing basic skills and learning the art of fixed rope climbing. We move camp to the base of our next objective, Pokalde, which is straightforward and consolidates your skills. Island Peak is more technical than the initial two climbs, with more glaciated terrain to negotiate and steeper climbing with and slightly more exposure on the approach to the summit. The summit views are dramatic looking across the valley towards Ama Dablam and then to the southern wall of Lhotse and Nuptse.
