to the Clifton Show
I would like to take this opportunity to invite everyone to the 2023 Clifton Show. It has been two years since the last show with the committee making the difficult decision to cancel the 2022 show due to the Covid situation.

When an event misses a year it can be difficult to revive, however the committee, volunteers, sponsors and competitors have shown up and got on with the job. Now all we need is you the patrons.
The show entertainment will be headlined by the rodeo which has proved so popular with patrons over the years. Hula Hoop kids entertainment will also be there from lunch time on Saturday to keep the children entertained.
There have been some changes of times for events this year with the Pet Parade now to be held 3:00pm Saturday to be followed by the Battle of the Brains at 4:00pm.
The sheep dog trials will once again return to the show with three days of competition taking place in the sheep dog ring in the south eastern corner of the grounds. It is well worth the walk to view the skill of these dogs and their handlers.
The show will kick off Friday morning with the prime cattle and fat lamb competition as well as entries being taken in the pavilion, followed by the all breeds heifer show under lights on Friday Evening.
Saturday will see the usual livestock judging including Stud Cattle, featuring a Black Angus feature show, and Stud Sheep as well as Angora goat junior judging.
The ring will be jam packed with horses both Saturday and Sunday with show jumping, horse judging, sporting events, harness classes and the mini stockmans challenge.
As always an event of this size is no mean feat to put on and requires hours of dedication from over 100 volunteers, my thanks goes to all those volunteers who come together and showcase the strength of our community to visiting competitors, who regularly comment on the standard of our show and its volunteers.
The committee are always looking for helpers and new members to help leading up to and at the show.
If you feel you may be able to help in any way, please contact the secretary or any of the committee members whose contact details are in the schedule, you will be always most welcome.
The Clifton Show is a community society and relies heavily on local sponsorship and we acknowledge those businesses that put their hands deep into their pockets to support the local community, so I ask you to support them whenever possible.
There will be lots to do and see at the 2023 show, so please come along, I look forward to seeing you all there and hopefully seeing some cooler days to celebrate the 2023 Clifton Show.
