Opportunity to showcase local tourism

THE word is out; Shepparton and the Goulburn Valley is a tourist destination that attracts thousands of new and returning visitors.

Experiencing an all-time high number of tourists to the region, the Greater Shepparton Visitor Centre is inviting locals to join their team of volunteers and experience Shepparton and the Goulburn Valley in new ways.

Situated at the iconic SAM building on the shores of Lake Victoria, volunteers are asked to dedicate four hours of their time on a regular basis, providing the highest standard of customer service.

Aside from greeting and sharing local knowledge with visitors about the region, volunteers will receive exclusive tours and events and programs before public release and will have the chance to represent the Centre at major events.

Stating that the Greater Shepparton City Council Visitor Centre is far more than just maps and information, Council’s visitor experience coordinator, Maree Glasson said, “We need enthusiastic and knowledgeable locals who can represent our dynamic culture, show off our friendly hospitality and help visitors get the most out of their stay.

“I encourage anyone who is passionate about the region to come in and say hello and speak to us about volunteer opportunities.”
