Assistant manager Grant Casey

ACCORDING to Ultimate Fasteners’ assistant manager, Grant Casey, the decision to relocate the business to its more user-friendly and expansive premises at 67 Williams Road was based squarely on the need to respond to the company’s expanding and ever diversifying clientele.

“The new building can simply hold more stock and with more space we can set it up the way we want. Everything here is designed to be easier and more efficient and convenient for our customers,” Grant said.

When asked about how he enjoyed working alongside co-owners Dean and Mark and in jointly leading a skilled and experienced workforce, Grant said, “I love it! We’ve got two really great bosses and the banter amongst the team is obvious. Everyone here enjoys what they do, and everyone enjoys coming to work.”

THE NEXT LOGICAL STEP... For co-owner of Ultimate Fasteners, Mark Shanahan, the relocation of his business with Dean Jones represents a natural progression of being able to service bigger clients while remaining responsive to individual and existing clients. It also provides the space for his dedicated team to flourish on the job.

CHANGE is the lifeblood of progress, and after 15 years of growth the next logical step in Ultimate Fasteners expansion has arrived in the form of a new, one-stop shop at 67 Williams Road Shepparton.

For co-owner Mark Shanahan, the move represents not only another opportunity to further enhance customer service but provides the space for a more efficient turnaround of stock as well as improved working conditions for the entire team.

“With the capacity to move more stock up through the shop, we’re able to build on our customer service as well as take on bigger clients. With the inward and outward facility at the rear of the store, we can bring bulk stock in as well as turn it around effectively, sending it out to clients without delay,” Mark said.

KAYLENE McCormick has worked for Ultimate Fasteners for the past six and a half years and is the person to see when it comes to accounts.

Working alongside her colleagues, Sophie Dervish and Carole Moore, Kaylene is well placed to appraise the business’ accelerated growth, “The growth of the business has been phenomenal in the six or so years that I have worked here. When I first came on board, we had seven staff, so we’ve nearly doubled that and then of course, we’ve moved into this new, spacious building, which is exciting,” Kaylene said.

When asked to comment on what she sees as the attributing factors leading to Ultimate Fasteners’ on-going success, Kaylene said, “Well, I think it is the way Dean and Mark interact with everyone, from customers, to staff and everyone in between. They are awesome blokes to work for and I think that shows amongst the staff and in the business.”
