Time to Run!
It’s time to lace up your running shoes, get on the fast track and begin making a difference. The 7th annual Running for Hope 5K Run/Fun Walk, hosted by the Running for Hope Association, is set for Sunday, June 1. Proceeds from the event will support Advocate Children’s Hospital - Oak Lawn and the Ronald McDonald House located across the street from the Oak Lawn campus. Last year’s event was a huge success, and this year’s event is sure to be an even greater success, with nearly 1,000 people already registered and 56 registered teams.. The 7th annual race kicks off at 8 a.m. at Keeler Park, located at the intersection of 93rd Street and Keeler Avenue in Oak Lawn, and a special Kids Dash (ages 10 and under) will take off at 9:30 a.m. Registration fee is $30 for runners, $25 for walkers and $10 for the Kids Dash. The first 2,500 people to register will receive a free t-shirt and goodie bag. For more information on the run or to register, visit runningforhope.net.

New Leader Announcement
Leigh Reisberg – Manager of Guest and Customer Service Leigh Reisberg has accepted the position of Manager of Guest and Customer Service for Advocate Children’s Hospital. Leigh will manage the Advocate Children’s Hospital Guest Services department in Oak Lawn and the Park Ridge Outpatient Pavilion. She will be responsible for ensuring high levels of customer engagement, maintaining a welcoming environment and ensuring patient safety at many points of entry and at the main desks. She will also serve as the Advocate Experience champion, working closely with our partners across the organization to bring service excellence to the top. In this role, she will evaluate patient satisfaction data to develop and implement a wide range of processes and services to improve patient flow, access to services and satisfaction. Leigh received her Bachelor’s Degree in American Sign Language Interpreting and Early Childhood Education from Columbia College of Chicago. She is also a sign language instructor and specializes in developing sign language programs for children with special needs.

Advocate Children’s Hospital Golf Classic
Family members and persons ages four through adult with either physical or visual disabilities are encouraged to join together on Saturday, June 14, at 94th Street and Keeler Avenue in Oak Lawn for Cycling for Hope. This annual event is sponsored by Advocate Children’s Hospital and U.S. Paralympics and will feature a special appearance by Ronald McDonald! Attendees will participate in the following: • Adapted cycling options. Test ride a variety of available bikes including hand cycles and tandem bikes, provided by Project Mobility. • Special recreation programs available to increase involvement in extracurricular activities. Enjoy a day out on the links for the 17th annual Advocate Children’s Hospital – Oak Lawn Golf Classic, presented by Hearts for Hope. The fundraiser, to be held Wednesday, June 4 at the Silver Lake Country Club in Orland Park, will support the cardiac neurodevelopmental program. The day kicks off at 7:30 a.m. where golfers will register and enjoy a continental breakfast before they head out on the course for 18 holes of golf. In addition to golfing, purchase of a ticket also includes lunch, beverages on the course, cocktails and dinner that immediately follow golf. Tickets are $225 per golfer or $900 per foursome. TypeOneNation – Saturday, May 31 A summit for everything related to Type I diabetes Advocate Children’s Hospital pediatric endocrinology department is a participating sponsor of the JDRF TypeOneNation summit on May 31 at the Chicago Field Museum. This event will bring together all walks of life within the Type I community from children to adults to caregivers. Those who attend will
