ED & LH A SHOCKING SCENE.

It must have been a startling and bloody scene that night at Baylor Medical Center. Two men had pulled up to the hospital and quickly summoned paramedics to their vehicle. Sixteen-year-old Eric Romero was inside the car with a gunshot wound to his head. His two friends then fled, leaving Romero in the care of Baylor doctors. Romero, remembered by family and friends as a good kid, died only a few hours later — just one day before turning 17.

Police are asking for any information relating to the case. None of the friends who dropped him off at Baylor called 911,

The Crime: Murder

Date: Tuesday, July 15 and police are not even certain where the crime took place.

Time: 10:30 p.m.

“The circumstances surrounding that [murder] we don’t understand right now, so that’s why we’re asking for the public’s help,” Dallas Police Homicide Unit Sgt. Joe Garza said in a news conference after Romero’s death.

Dallas Police tell the Advocate there are no new details in the case yet, but they continue to investigate and ask anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers at 214.373.TIPS or the Dallas Police Department at 214.671.3661.
