Changing Faces
The Aesthetics Awards 2013 were hosted by Antonia Mariconda, the Cosmedic Coach, a wellknown face in the world of beauty, anti-ageing and aesthetic medicine. Alongside providing clients with advice on the aesthetics industry, Antonia’s successful website ‘thecosmediccoach.com’ also contains blogs and reviews on the latest treatments available. Antonia is currently in the process of authoring her fifth book and has written numerous articles for the national press and industry publications. Her passion for cosmetics and aesthetic medicine is demonstrated by her work towards a safer and better industry through her ‘Safety in Beauty’ campaign and social media support group ‘When Cosmetic Surgery Goes Wrong’.
Peter Dickson The fabulous voice of Peter Dickson added yet another layer of excitement to the awards this year. Peter is a seasoned performer and has compèred hundreds high profile television programmes such as The X Factor, Britain’s Got Talent, and Live at the Apollo. With his distinctive style, Peter’s voice increased the drama in the hotly contested categories further still.
The Aesthetics Awards supported Changing Faces, a charity for those who live with conditions that affect their appearance, and their loved ones. Dr Dawn Harper, star of TV’s Embarrassing Bodies, took to the stage to tell guests all about the invaluable work the charity does to change people’s lives by providing practical and emotional support to adults, children and their families. They also provide training, support and advice for professionals in health and education. Changing Faces believe that with the right help everyone can learn to face their future with optimism. An important part of their work is also transforming attitudes towards people with an unusual appearance. Their goal is ‘Face Equality’, where everybody is treated equally in the work place, in the health system, in education and in normal life irrespective of their appearance.
Paul Sinha Entertainment was provided by hilarious stand-up comedian, Paul Sinha. Paul’s medical background as a qualified GP made him the perfect person to entertain a room packed full of the best in aesthetic medicine. He had guests rolling around laughing as he poked fun at his personal life, and entertained with stories about his family, his time as a medic, and his ranking as one of Britain’s best ‘quizzers’.
The Aesthetics Awards 2013
Guests were asked to donate to this fantastic cause and a lucky winner was selected at random to be the recipient of a luxurious break for two at the Cliveden House country hotel. Lara Curran was delighted to receive her prize, which included dinner, a treatment at the spa and also a thrilling test drive in a Lamborghini. We would like to thank all guests for their generosity in raising an amazing £2,278.70 for this important, life-changing cause.

Once dinner was over it was time for the main event; the awards presentations. With 140 finalists competing in 23 categories, the competition was high and guests eagerly awaited the announcement of the winners.
“It was a real pleasure to be part of the awards ceremony.
