AFL South East Competition Review

Highgrove Bathrooms Sponsorship

As senior officials from all Clubs are aware, I have been conducting interviews with each of the Clubs in the AFL Southeast region over the past 6 weeks or so. The exercise has been a good opportunity to meet several Presidents and committee representatives for the first time. More relevantly it was also an opportunity to get Club’s views on the best structure for the senior football competition in 2018 and beyond. I have been very appreciative of the manner in which the meetings have been conducted, and I thank all those involved for their input. It’s timely to provide a reminder of the process from here. All the feedback received from Clubs will be provided to the Review Panel appointed by the Commission. It is hoped by the end of May a Position Paper will be distributed to the industry. Clubs will then have a month to formally respond to the Paper. The Review Panel will then make formal recommendations, taking all feedback into account, to the Commission for approval. The Commission is the ultimate decision maker and based on the current timetable the recommendations are due to be issued by the end of July.

It was pleasing to see 21 of the 22 MPNFL Clubs represented at a function at the Mornington Isuzu Ute Stadium (Frankston Park) last Friday night to receive their cheque from Highgrove Bathrooms. The Clubs are most appreciative of the gesture and as such will be displaying signage at each of the venues This had been arranged through the Frankston Dolphins. One of the criteria in the Dolphins bid to regain a VFL License is to be more engaged with the local football community. While it is easy to say the words, the Dolphins have gone out of their way to engage with AFL Southeast and this sponsorship has a direct benefit to the Clubs in particular. In my view it is important for the young players in our competitions to have pathways through to TAC Cup, the VFL and the AFL. Having a VFL presence in our region is important and we support the Frankston Dolphins in their quest. John Anderson RGM AFL South East

There has been speculation that certain outcomes have been determined already. I can assure you that is not the case and any comments from Clubs will be there own view, not the view of the Review Panel. Conversations between myself and Club Presidents as part of the Review are confidential and will not be made public. AFL Victoria – Community Championship Matches. The Worksafe AFL Victoria Community Championships 1v2 between the MPNFL and the Geelong FNL is confirmed to commence at 3.30pm on May 13 at the MCG. This will be prior to the Essendon v Geelong AFL Fixture. The MPNFL list will be trimmed down this week. Coach John Hynes will have a tough job finalising his best side. This is a fantastic opportunity for not only players, but for umpires, coaches and volunteers to participate on the game’s biggest stage. I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone involved in making this match a reality, including the competition sponsor WorkSafe, AFL, Essendon and Geelong Football Clubs for their support. The fixture between SEFNL and the Hamden League has had a change of venue to the sudden unavailability of the Holden Centre (Collingwood FC made that decision). The match will now be played at Casey Fields on May 13 starting at 1pm.

AFL Vic Country Supporting the lifeblood of regional communities WorkSafe is excited to once again partner with AFL Country Victoria for 2017. It’s an ongoing privilege to be a part of country football and netball because these sports play such an important role in every regional community. They bring together families, friends, neighbours and mates to yell, cheer and compete in friendly – and sometimes not so friendly competition. It is an important partnership for WorkSafe because it gives us the opportunity to spread the message about workplace safety to an incredible mix of people from all walks of life.

We ask all regional Victorians to stop and think about what is ultimately important to them. What can they do to prevent the death or injury of a loved one at work? While the number of workplace injuries in country Victoria continues to decline, there’s always more that can be done. Through our involvement in country football and netball, we will continue to spread the message that no one should be injured at work. Safety is everyone’s responsibility and we must work together to ensure a safer Victoria for all. Clare Amies Chief Executive

WorkSafe Victoria

The people you see here today are players, spectators, umpires, club officials and volunteers. But they are also farmers, tradesmen, businesspeople, shop assistants and workers from a hundred different industries who deserve to get home safe at the end of the day. WorkSafe works hard with local clubs and leagues every year to promote workplace safety and the support and hospitality we receive from local communities is remarkable. At our Games of The Month, we invite some of the biggest names in football and netball to come along to meet the locals, share their sporting stories and enjoy the big-day atmosphere. Our Club Safety Fund, which offers financial support to clubs who have initiatives to make their players and supporters safer, will again be available this year. But workplace safety is not just an issue for WorkSafe. Every employer and employee must take responsibility for keeping safe at work. And every family member who says goodbye to their mum or dad, their son or daughter, or their brother or sister as they leave for work each morning, can do their part by reminding them of the need to take care.

Football Preview TOP SPOT UP FOR GRABS By Simon McEvoy ONE team will stand alone, undefeated, on top of the ladder tonight. At 3-0, both FRANKSTON YCW and PINES have been the stand out performers in the opening month of the season and their clash today will be a cracker. Can Pines, with Aaron Edwards, Tim Bongetti, Guy Hendry and co., land an early psychological blow by knocking off the reigning champs? Or will the Stonecats, fuelled by VFL players, experience heads and young guns, calmly answer the challenge, as they so often have done when challenged? Pines has beaten Bonbeach (17 points), Langwarrin (79) and Edi-Asp (43) in an impressive start to the season. Bongetti (12 goals) and Edwards (10) have looked dangerous up forward, while the Hendry brothers have been catching everything. Reigning premiers Frankston YCW has quickly found their stride, beating Mornington (22), Mt Eliza (30) and Karingal (43) so far - three good scalps. VFL-listed Anthony Bruhn has played all three games, kicking 10 goals, and anytime he’s in the team the Stonecats look the goods. Young Josh Butland and the classy Paul Minchington have been lively up forward. SEAFORD is chasing its third successive win when it hosts KARINGAL. The Tigers have played some terrific footy in the last couple of weeks as they’ve taken Chelsea and then Langwarrin to the cleaners. Former Casey Scorpions captain Kyle Matthew has been good down back, while Seaford’s options-aplenty forward line features Tom Shaw (8 goals), Jackson Mockett (7), Daniel Lewis (6), Matt McCormack (5) and others. Karingal, after starting with a win, have dropped the past two games but the Bulls have been very competitive against Mt Eliza and Frankston YCW. They served it up to the Stonecats last Sunday, leading the champs at halftime. Duncan Proud, Callan Dixon, Rhys Pierce and Mason Russell have been in good form for the Bulls, who will look to go 2-2 with a win today. BONBEACH is tipped to make it three wins in a row when it hosts winless LANGWARRIN. The Sharks have played good footy to dispatch Edi-Asp and Chelsea in the past fortnight, helping themselves to 34 scoring shots last week, when Trent Dennis-Lane slotted five majors. Former Sandy Dragon Darcy James played his best game for Bonny last week and champ Shane McDonald hit his straps, along with Todd Cracknell and star big man Dylan Jones. Langwarrin is yet to score more than 56 points in a game this season and has been thrashed in the past two games. Looking for positives, the form of Michael Parker, Blake Harkness and Ash Fenech has been good.

Coming off a four-day turnaround, MORNINGTON is back in action against EDI-ASP at the kennel. It’s a good chance for the Bulldogs to beat the out-of-form Eagles at home, just as they did last season. Dale Whelan looms as a key for Mornington. He kicked five against them last year, while Emilio Bitters, Warwick Miller and Josh Halsall can cause concerns for Edi-Asp. The Eagles, missing several key players through injury, were no match for Pines last week, although coach Graeme Yeats saw a lift in intensity last week, and hopes it’s a sign of things to come. Bottom side CHELSEA hosts MT ELIZA. The Seagulls, although winless, showed some positive signs last week when they kicked six goals in the final quarter and might be able to go on with it today. Jack Francis, Trent Styles and Jason Clark have shown they can kick goals while Rhys Hensel, Simon Mitchelhill and Dave Willett have been playing well. Mt Eliza backs up quickly but has a strong record against Chelsea; the Redlegs registered their highest score of the season at Chelsea last year. Look for classy young forward Jordan Capkin to make an impact today.

Football Preview TIGERS ON THE UP IN THE RESERVES… Mark Dessent’s SEAFORD looks to be getting stronger by the week as Peter McCall, Levi Hughes and Cam Scott continue to lead from the front and the Tigers should be too good for bottom-placed KARINGAL. FRANKSTON YCW, with Jack Butland booting five, was impressive last week and the Stonecats will be hard to stop against PINES. Impressive last week, CHELSEA will look to stun MT ELIZA. The Seagulls will need Nick Allsep, Mason Bailey and Stu Brooke to fire again. BONBEACH and LANGWARRIN are both chasing their second win of the season. Jeff Norman’s MORNINGTON meets undefeated EDI-ASP, which boasts plenty of talent with the likes of Lachie Brodie, Andrew Luxa, Tom Burley and Todd Woodbridge. SEAGULLS ON THE BOARD IN THE UNDER 19s… CHELSEA opened its winning account with a stirring two-point win last week and will take confidence into its clash with Steve Brattle’s MT ELIZA. Look for Seagulls Kalvin Long, Sam Heurtau and Corey Edmunds to make an impact again. EDI-ASP fired off 20 goals last week to continue their impressive start to the season and the Eagles can make it four wins on the trot when they meet MORNINGTON. Zack O’Neill and James Hickey combined for nine goals last week. Unbeaten FRANKSTON YCW, with Jayden Race, Ben Cracknell and Mackenna Hura in sparkling form, should be too strong for PINES. BONBEACH will be looking to bounce back against LANGWARRIN, and SEAFORD and KARINGAL clash in an interesting battle.

Club Notes

The club celebrated Sponsors and life members day in style with a Netball clean sweep and a Senior football victory in the inaugural Longbeach RSL ANZAC Cup. Both clubs marked the occasion with an RSL dinner on Wednesday night and together with RSL members enjoyed the match day function while raising some funds. Both clubs are looking forward to continuing this ANZAC match tradition. On field we were too strong for the young Chelsea side with star recruit Trent Dennis-Lane bagging another 5 goals to add to his 4 last week. Macca, Jacko & Darcy among the best with DJ taking out the first Anzac medal after another great performance. When there’s a medal to be won DJ brings his best…could be a new nickname in store! Home again to Langy this week we wish all sides a successful day. GO Sharks!

Club Notes

A big crowd was on hand to see us take on Seaford last weekend. Our under 19’s again took the game on,backed themselves and continued to play their exciting brand of footy. Matty Peyenborg booting 5 goals , and continued good form from Max Watters and Jake Millward saw our boys take out a good win.Shane “Tanners” Tanirau’s 200th game was always going to be a big occasion. To see both Doggie and Bluey back out in the blue and white playing in this game was a great sight. Sadly we couldnt get the win for Tanners but as he was chaired off it was good to see the Seaford team line up for him as well. Good players for us were Lachie Davies, Tatey and Tanners himself. Guests , sponsors and life members at President Dave Nelli’s well attended luncheon were just demolishing their last piece of cheesecake when the seniors ran onto the ground. Again our endeavour and courage were never in doubt. Mitch Mathie started well, and Kieran Albanese kicked 4. Our backline, though constantly under pressure tried at all times to move the ball quickly and take the game on. Backing themselves seemed to be a real feature of the game. Seaford however ran out winners and good players for us were Michael Parker, Blake Harkness , Hayden Golby and Ash Fenech. Lets be ultra competitive against Bonbeach today. Club Notes Traveled to Bonbeach for Anzac Round and had a better day, the 19’s kicked us off with a very Guttsy win after lending them 2 players, great work lad’s and credit to Mark as well. Best players Longy, Lex, Jessie, Cory and Sammy. The 2’s finally put 4 quarters together and got the 4 points , great work team and good to see blokes putting their hand up for promotion. Thought Benny and Siv responded well and Nick, Drilla and Curtis all really solid. Good signs if we all get on the track and work hard. The Seniors once again payed the price for a slow start and had to chase all day. Finished the game off well and produced our best Qtr of the year with 6 goals. We a fit and need to stick fat, solid efforts from Jack Francis 4 goals, Simmo, Toddy, Aaron and Daly Shannon. Huge thanks to all who attended the function Sat Night, thanks Trippa , also special thanks to the Davis Family, Jaki and the players for the way they conducted themselves on the night. Top shelf and has been noted, Great stuff. 2 wins last week team and there is more on the way Mt Elisa this week at home so lets all get there . See you at the Gullery !!

Club Notes A great turn out on Anzac Day as we took on Mornington. Thanks to the Mornington people who stuck around at the end of the day and to those Redlegs who assisted on the day – Much appreciated. The U/19’s set the scene with a solid win. We led narrowly at qtr time and by a couple of goals at half time. A 2.5 to 1.3 3rd term saw the lead out to 4 goals. In the last we kicked the first 4 goals, before they kicked the last couple – Well done on a solid 35 point win! Best were Smally, Jacko, Fewster (2), Housey (2), Hawk & Ricey. In drizzling rain the Reserves game failed to reach any great heights with Mornington kicking 2.3 to 0.2 in the 1st half. We got our game going in the 2nd half as conditions improved, kicking 9.4 to 1.0 to win by 39. Ben Whitfort kicked a couple to be in the best, along with Clears, Trent, Kenty & Sam Howell. Congrats to Groota and wife Emma on the birth of their first child, Xavier. The Seniors’ inaccurate kicking for goal kept Mornington in the game as we went in at ½ time leading 5.10 to 5.1, however a dominant 10.10 to 3.0 2nd half, saw the boys win by 10 goals and retain the Vosti Shield. JV booted 7 and best players were Shane Tennant (Anzac Day Medal), Langers, Heasa, Harps, Lambie & Lill. Club Notes

Today we welcome the Pines footballers, netballers and supporters to the Coburn Oval as we embark on stanza four of our 2017 journey. The senior footballers will be competing for the “Spirit of Frankston” Cup. This cup was inaugurated in 2011 in memory of the many years of support given by Aidan J Graham to the Pines and Frankston YCW Football Clubs. Today has been made even more special for the Stonecats with the chance to celebrate with three of our players achieving significant milestones in their respective careers out our Club. Tony Lester plays his 250th senior game, Kyle Hutchison his 150th and Kev Lylak his 100th. Last Sunday we faced off against the Bulls and successfully retained the Anzac Berenger-Watts trophy. Congratulations to Michael Burke on achieving a wonderful milestone and thankyou to the KFNFC for putting on an outstanding day . Murph’s Men, despite an inaccurate second half, won by 8 goals. The Unders kept the young Bulls goalless in a great team performance. The Netballers won three of their four games – check their notes elsewhere. Our Day at the Dogs has been postponed so watch this space for the revised date. Past players reunion day is on May 20.(next home game) On May 27 (the Langy game) the Club is having it’s annual Ladies Day fundraiser from 1.00pm to 5.00pm. Entry fee of $50 gives you lunch, a drinks package plus entertainment and prizes. Guaranteed to be a “cracking” day. Contact netballtreasurer@stonecats.com.au or Steph Boulton.

Travelling to Edi Asp last week in perfect conditions.. Unders kicked the day off but we’re beaten by a good side. Managed a few glimpses of good play but we’re outclassed. Better players were Cornell, Philp and Santos. Reserves were slow out of the blocks and that was the difference between the two teams. Broke even in the last 3/4. Best players were Beggsy, Cupid, Jackson and Razor. Seniors were in form early and held a good lead all day even though challenged in the 3rd term. Bongetti, Edwards and hendry twins marking everything. Scanlon had the fair share of the leather also. In good shape to take on the benchmark of the comp today..New addition to the column is player profile which this week speaks to Patrick Jackson............. Name.. Age.. Nickname.. Number ..

Firstly a warm welcome to all our past players and officals today. It’s always been a great day on our social calendar and I’m sure The banter around the ground will be just as entertaining as the match V’s The Bulls today. Thank you for all those who attended the Clubs Golf Day last weekend. We had 80players in attendance which made it a great day for all. Unbelievable effort from the winners on the day shooting a net score of 52. That’s 20 under! The winning group was - Ben Duffield, Cam Newbold, Daniel Lewis & Dean Williamson. Not a bad weekend for Willo, he not only took out the first prize for the golf but also won 50inch plasma in the raffle and was awarded the ANZAC Day medal for his performance V’s Roos. Super effort from our Golf Skipper, Steva on organising the day. Well done to Karingal & MPNFL legend, Michael Burke’s on his 300th senior match last weekend. You’ve been a cracking player to watch over the years and we hope to see you for a few more yet. We too today have someone who has reached a special milestone. Congratulations Aaron Turner on joining the 200th milestone club. Azza has been fantastic ambassador for our Club over the years, whether it be his work ethic, his leadership or just his commitment and loyalty to our club over the years. Even more important is that Azza T has been a great mate to many of us. Well done mate. Ps. Don’t forget the player auction which starts immediately after match reports. Food will be avail.

Netball Preview Bonbeach V Langwarrin Bonbeach come into this game rested after the bye. They take on the Roos at Shark Park who lost last week to Seaford. Not a huge margin in it but Langwarrin will be wanting the win today to against Bonbeach who are sitting 6th on the ladder.

Frankston YCW V Pines Both teams suffered huge losses last week at the hands of the 2016 grand finalists. This game will be a chance for one team to redeem themselves. It seems YC may have sacrificed their A grade side for wins in lower grades & are sitting on bottom position on the ladder. Pines need to capitalise on that fact and could come away with the win today.

Karingal V Seaford This game will take place at Linen House today. The Bulls are coming off a huge win over YCW by 46 goals. The Tigers will be looking to knock Karingal off as they beat them in the 2016 prelim robbing them of a GF berth. The Bulls have had a perfect start to 2017 & will be looking to continue that streak today. Seaford had a good win last week against Langwarrin which should give them confidence heading into today’s game. Mornington V Edi Asp Mornington played neighbours Mt Eliza on Anzac Day last week & have another tough task against the Eagles today at home. The Eagles had a walk in the park last week against Pines coming off 45 goal winners. Can this polished unit retain top spot or do Mornington have the talent to upset the Eagles? Chelsea V Mt Eliza The Redlegs ladies get the rest this week and will go into their round 5 match against Langwarrin fresh.

Netball Notes Mornington Bulldogs

Today we welcome the girls from Edi-Asp on our new courts. We have a big task ahead of us but the girls will give it their all & never give up. A Grade had a battle on their hands against Mt Eliza on ANZAC day. Britt position and shot well in goals being fed with precision from both the Tess’s. Defensively, Jess & Candace Page had their work cut out for them with an exceptionally tall gaoler rarely missing. Vicki contributed well coming on in the second half but the deficit was too much to catch-up. After a dreadful start the B Grade girls managed to get the game back on track in the second term. Meg worked tirelessly in defence as did Chris through the mid-court fighting for every possession. Carli was instrumental in stemming the flow of goals from Mt Eliza, with Charli converting well in goals. Katey further aided the fight back coming on in the 3rd term. But it was Vicki who led the charge in the final term, slowly but surely pegging back the lead but the girls ran out of time, going down by 4 goals. C Grade & D Grade battled hard all day in wet conditions with D Grade just missing by 3 goals which was a great result and another win is not far away. Best on court where Bridget for D & Meg for C Grade. We would also like to thank Anytime Fitness Mornington for again supporting our netballers for 2017 Go Doggies Woof Woof #togtherasone

Chelsea Seagulls Chelsea welcomed tough competition against Bonbeach A, B and C this week (their D grade not playing a league match). This was an excellent test of our skills and resilience as we build towards A grade next year, and a good opportunity to see how we’re tracking. We can proudly report that though we all played a grade above, we lost by fewer than 15 points in each match and our D grade led against Bonbeach C for three quarters! An excellent outcome - hold your heads high girls! Chelsea Ds welcomed back Chaz to her first game since surgery. We had a great first half seeing us up by 2 points. Our defensive pressure down the court allowed many intercepts and Georgia and Awatea’s defense in the ring was on point! Only defeated by 6, the girls should be super proud of their efforts! Chelsea C also started strong with Kiah again showing natural leadership on court. Perri and Lauren both impressed with their strong defence and smart play down the court. Katie brought her experience in the final half which provided a lift, but unfortunately Bonbeach B was too strong. In what was a very physical game we had a few injuries and want to wish Kayla a very “speedy” recovery. Chelsea B put up a fight for the whole four quarters against Bonbeach A. Our defensive pressure was intense - Ally and Gazzo working hard in the ring. A best on court performance from Lisa assisted opening up the court with her accurate passes hitting targets every time. A special mention to Hayley who also impressed.

Pines Pythonettes Last week saw a very tough week up against the strong Edi-Asp who show class in all grades. Each game began with a minute silence to show our respects to the ANZACs and we were hoping this would spur our girls on to show team work and mateship throughout each game and hopefully get a win on the board Edithvale-Aspendale showed too much strength for all four Pines teams and although we suffered heavy losses we are picking ourselves back up and know exactly what we need to work on at training to build our intensity and continue the season with some wins on the board. This week we are away again and take on YCW down at Jubilee Park. The girls are determined to pick up the intensity in each grade and prove that we are a team to be taken seriously. Good Luck Pythonettes!!

Last week we came up against Karingal which was always going to be an extremely tough game. Despite the difference on the scoreboard in the A grade game, the girls didn’t drop their heads and fought until the end. Lyshae Barry was best on for YCW creating some amazing turnovers in the circle. The B grade girls had a super win in what was an amazing team effort. We played hard for the full four quarters, with our fitness and ability to continually rotate our bench helping us come out on top fairly comfortably. Votes were once again very difficult but BOC goes to Evie Heenan for a stellar game in goals, with high accuracy and strong rebounds on the odd occasions she missed. Special shout out to Maddie Mac and that knee - hopefully you are back on the court in no time. C grade girls took the court as a team and were continually in control of the game. Defenders never dropped their heads once, mid courts ran their guts out and shooters all had extremely high accuracy! BOC was again tough but has to go to Bec Meagher who smashed it! D grade had a very tough and physical game but took the bumps on board while still playing our game, only letting it bother us for a little while in the last quarter. The back up and communication amongst the team was amazing! BOC goes to Sophie Damn for keeping the defence end under control. Thank you to the girls who may not have made it on the court and all for staying to support one another - it is this attitude that makes this club so special.

Karingal Bullettes

A tough day at the office for B, C & D grade last week at the Bullpit V YCW. Not so the case for our A grade side though who absolutely inihilated their opposition. Still missing vital team members to VNL duties - the A grade girls still came away with an extraordinary win by 46 goals. We welcomed back Jess who is obviously very handy under the goal post & combined with Birgitta they were unstoppable. Undefeated heading into round 4! Our other 3 sides all put in valiant performances only going down by a few goals each. This week we take on Seaford at Linen House. Big congratulations to our girls representing our state currently who have made the grand final #gobulls

Seaford Tigers

Round 3: Tiges v Kangas In summary we finished the day with 3 silvers, 1 gold and 1 Anzac Day medal (well done Ash well deserved). We won’t bore you with the details, “insert some generic statements related to any match of netball ever played”. The votes this week went to 1 vote - Mim, for finishing night shift, arriving to the game on an hours sleep and still looking like Malibu Stacey. 2 votes - Tanya, for a consistent lack of shaving efforts 3 votes - Alana, for using the asphalt court surface to file her nails down (any harm in some nail scissors ha) Xoxo tiger girl

Netball Notes Langwarrin Kangaroos Round 3 was nothing but exciting, with our very own Sarah Johnston playing her 100th game in the blue and white. D Grade got the day underway and proved to not only the Tigers, but all Roo supporters, that they are a team to watch in 2017. The accuracy of the goalers, talk through the centre court and defensive pressure in the ring, demonstrates a fantastic effort by both coach Kristy, and captain Skye, as the girls continue to display some brilliant netball coming away with a 29-6 win. With a mixture of both experience and new talent in the side this year, the C girls worked hard to implement their training focuses on game day. Some changes across the court, saw new goaling partnerships and defensive duos form, seeing the girls extend their 2 goal lead at half time to 14 by the end of the fourth quarter. After having a tough start to their 2017 season, the B girls were determined to get their first win against Seaford, showing new coach Johno just what they are capable of. The girls worked hard across all four quarters, creating many turnovers and converting them nicely in the goal ring seeing them come out on top with a 40 – 29 win. Our A girls had a slow start to their day as they came up against a competitive Seaford outfit. However, the girls regrouped and gave each quarter their all, impressing coach Sara with their “never give up” attitude. Unfortunately the A girls were unable to come back, although look forward to their next meeting with the Tigs in round 11.

Mt Eliza Red Legs What a privildge it is to play on Anzac Day. Tuesday saw us meet Mornington at the new Hampden Street courts, what a great venue. In the pouring rain the D GRADE game showed that it would be a tough day from a skills perspective. In a low scoring affair D grade took the win 16-13 against a hungry Mornington team. The girls took a while to click, however showed composure in the wet to walk away victorious. C GRADE game out firing and stamped their authority from the first whistle. Karen & Tayla were on fire in goals and were well supported by the mid court. Kate P had a best on court game which contributed to the 35-22 win. B GRADE were on fire from the start and proved skilful in the rain, leading by 10 goals for majority of the game credit to Mornington they really challenged us in the final quarter which saw us win by 4 (36-32). Abbey played great in goals while Julia & Di were fantastic in defence. B grade have really started to show their strength in the competition. A GRADE played an amazing game & showed consistency across 4 quarters and importantly as a team effort. Steph & Bridget did great in goals while Ash had a fantastic game in defence. Bayley has also been contributing well & had another great game on Tuesday, well supported by Verona in the mid court.

A grade won 45-35 which was topped off with Jess Anwyl winning the Anzac Medal for the Mounties. Next week we take on Chelsea which should be a great match for all teams, with A grade having a break this week.
