MPNFL Updates MPNFL Update Round 11 2017 Welcome to Round 11 of the 2017 home and away season for both Peninsula FNL and Nepean FNL.

Themed and feature rounds coming up; 1st July 2017 – It’s okay not to be okay Round 8th July 2017 - Pink Round 29th July 2017 – Multicultural Round Best of luck to all sides for this weekend.

Suicide on the Mornington Peninsula is unfortunately all too common. We are trying to do everything we can to raise awareness and help break the stigma attached to mental health issues. Round 11 across the MPNFL is official ‘It’s okay, not to be okay’ round. Blue is the official colour of the round with all clubs encouraged to deck themselves out in these colours. Frankston Bombers will be playing the Somerville Eagles on this day. The team that wins this match will be presented with the “Bennez Cup” by Paul Hocking who tragically lost his 22-year-old son Ben Hocking to suicide in 2016 (a former Somerville Eagles player). All money raised across the games will be donated to Lifeline. On a lighter note, the annual ‘Women in Sport’ luncheon is on once again Friday 21st July. This year’s special guests are Susan Alberti AC, Sports Journalist Caroline Wilson and AFL W Coach of Collingwood FC Wayne Siekman. MC’d by leading sports broadcaster Tiffany Cherry this will be an event not to miss. Dandenong Southern Stingrays “JETS NO MATCH FOR POISONOUS STINGRAYS” The Dandenong Southern Stingrays endured swirling winds whilst hosting five new debutants to come home with a comfortable 76-point win over the Western Jets on Sunday, 16.16 (112) to 5.6 (36). The Stingrays were menacing in the second half by not allowing the Jets to get a sniff on the scoreboard, by only allowing one goal whilst adding 13 majors of their own. Dandenong benefitted from a wide spread of goalkickers, with Tom Freeman 3 goals, Dylan Morris, Toby Bedford, Corey Ellison and Fin Bayne all managing a pair of majors each, with five other Stingrays also slotting goals. Freeman and Bedford were the pick of the forwards, with both applying significant pressure across the halfforwards to force the Western defence into making errors. Riley Darcy also had a great day out, playing as the primary lead-up key forward and clearly relishing the opportunity. Through the middle, Bailey Morrish and Mitch Cotter had a day out, with brilliant support from the likes of first gamer Jack McHale, Mitch Riordan and the hard working Ali Zijai. Down back, however, was where the Stingrays really shone. Jesse Davies gave his best performance of the year across the back flanks, while stand in Captain Lachlan Young move into defence continued to be one of the masterstrokes of the year. And after a best-on-ground performance last week, Bailey Morrish would have undoubtedly put his hand up for back-to-back honours with another gritty performance from the centre. Stand-in coach Nick Cox (who once again this week took the reigns to further develop his coaching skills) was pleased with the final result. “In tricky conditions, like today with the wind blowing making it hard to score, it was always going to be a challenge. “The Jets came at us, particularly in the second quarter. And so it was good to see how they responded – our second half, I thought, was fantastic. “We outscored them and we outworked them.” “I was very pleased to see our all 17 year olds have an impact- especially in Bedford and Bayne who we challenged to use their pace.”

After the half time siren the Jets were made to look second-rate as the Stingrays swarmed the footy and benefitted from cleaner disposal and better decisionmaking. Debutant Alex Young won’t forget the first term for a while, booting his first TAC Cup goal quickly followed by Fin Bayne’s first- both could have added another in the first term but missed with near misses. To their credit, the Jets refused to give in. A majority of the second quarter was played on their terms, while a couple of the Stingrays could have been accused of taking their foot off the accelerator marginally. With the scores locked at 27 a piece at the main break Stingrays stand in Coach Nick Cox challenged many, whilst throwing the magnets around to manufacture a winning formula. After half-time, the Stingrays lifted their game up another gear, leaving the Jets in their wake. Western simply couldn’t keep up with the ferocious Rays, who gave their opponents no mercy. By the time the final siren rang, Dandenong had kicked away to a 76-point win kicking 7 unanswered goals in the third quarter and kicking 6 more in the last whilst only conceding one – which another timely reminder that the Stingrays are one of the genuine 2017 premiership threat. They will now enjoy a week off for a TAC Cup general bye, with an away game against the Calder Cannons on Saturday July 8th at Rams Arena, Craigeburn at 11.00am. “These next game is really important for us, we settle the changes a little and get 2-3 games into our 17 year olds,” Cox admitted. “We’ve been training hard since November 2016 for this situation, the boys have been doing their conditioning and extra work so when they got their chance they know that they’re going to understand their roles, whilst running out games really well.” Dandenong Stingrays 2.6-18 3.9.27 10.12-72 16.16-112 Western Jets 1.0-6 4.3-27 4.5-29 5.6-36 Goal Kickers: Tom Freeman 3, Fin Bayne 2, Toby Bedford 2, Corey Ellison 2, Dylan Morris 2, Riley Darcy, Bailey Morrish, Mitch Riordan, Jai Taylor, Alex Young. Best Players: Toby Bedford, Lachlan Young, Riley Bowman, Bailey Morrish, William Hamill and Finlay Bayne.

That was the theme for most of the day – the Rays burst out of the blocks early, but they couldn’t convert early shots on goal until they finally adjusted to the conditions and kicked away.

Football Preview BULLS AND GULLS CHASE WIN By Simon McEvoy Near misses and mounting losses…it’s been a frustrating stretch for both KARINGAL and CHELSEA. But today, for one, comes relief and fist-pumping delight: a much needed win. Chelsea’s last win was against Karingal in a Round 5 thriller when the Seagulls scraped home by three points, inspired by Daly Shannon, James Brain and Simon Mitchelhill. The Seagulls’ recent form has been handy. They pushed Mornington a fortnight ago and then had their moments against Mt Eliza last week. Karingal coach Andrew Sharp continues to back his players, despite nine straight losses. The Bulls showed they are nearing another win with a spirited display against Seaford last week when they led the Tigers at half time only to lose by 23 points. Aisea Valetini, Andrew McInnes, Cal Dixon, Christian Matthews, Brad Occhipinti and Michael Burke are playing good footy for the Bulls. This is their chance today. Fifth spot is up for grabs when EDI-ASP and MT ELIZA face off in a Round 11 blockbuster. The Redlegs have fifth spot at the moment, but the Eagles are coming. Graeme Yeats has his young Edi-Asp unit on the right track, highlighted by their stirring 28-point win over Frankston YCW last week. It was a coming of age somewhat for the Eagles, a sign perhaps that they are ready to take their place among the comp’s elite. Edi-Asp are playing with spirit and purpose, winning four of their past five games with the likes of Brendan Neville, Steve Mannix, Darcy Warke, Chris Wylie, Mick Meehan and Bradley Tagg in good form. Mt Eliza is on the rise. After toppling flag fancy Pines a fortnight ago, the Redlegs maintained their intensity to see off Chelsea as Jake Thorne, Rohan Heasley, Robbie Turnbull, Will Mace and comeback warrior Darren Booth turned in strong performances. Further highlighting what an incredibly even season this is, we have another top-of-the-ladder clash today. Four sides have been dicing for the lead this season and today it’s the turn of BONBEACH and PINES – two talented sides who will have a big say in this season’s premiership – to meet in the match of the round. The game also looms as a shoot-out between ex-AFL stars Aaron Edwards (Pines) and Trent Dennis-Lane (Bonbeach).

Edwards has fired off 49 goals this season, Dennis-Lane 42. A big bag today by one of them could prove crucial. Pines have won five of their past six games, averaging 16 goals a game in that time. The Pythons can score quickly with Edwards the main target but Tim Bongetti (31) a more than ample option. Bonbeach has surged to top spot on the back of six straight wins, its past three by 51, 111 and 72 points. The Sharks, fired by Darcy James, Shane McDonald, Dennis-Lane and Gary Carpenter, have been playing tough, razor-sharp footy with an accent on team work. FRANKSTON YCW rarely lose two in a row, which is not great news for MORNINGTON which faces the reigning champs, coming off a loss to Edi-Asp, today. The Stonecats and Bulldogs had a great duel back in Round 1, the day the big storm rolled in. Mornington sprinted to a 29-point lead in the first quarter before YC, fuelled by Lachie Wallace and Kev Lylak, fought back to prevail by 22 points. Since then, Frankston YCW has won seven of its nine games, while Mornington has struggled, chalking up just three wins (against Karingal, Langwarrin and Chelsea). SEAFORD returns to the Tiger Den looking for its eighth win of the season when it hosts bottom side LANGWARRIN. Ben Murphy’s Tigers scored a steadying win last week following back-to-back losses and, as the competition’s highest scoring side, this could potentially be a percentage booster. Langy continue to play their kids and their future is bright.

Football Preview SHARKS ON A ROLL

Tipsters

IN THE RESERVES... BONBEACH and PINES meet in a much anticipated fourthversus-fifth encounter. The Sharks, who beat Pines easily earlier in the season, take a three-game winning streak into the game while Pines is coming off a resounding win. Bonny’s Eamonn MacCormack, Dale Donkin and Sean Gales are in great form, while Pines will rely on Aaron Ludewig, Adam McPherson and Brendan Barfoot to continue to perform. FRANKSTON YCW can consolidate third spot with a second win this season over MORNINGTON. The Stonecats beat the Dogs by nine points back in Round 1 and Sam Fulton and Lucas Lee have been impressive of late. EDI-ASP, sitting a game out of the five, face a difficult task against undefeated MT ELIZA, with Tim Strickland and Nick McKinnon is sizzling form up forward. SEAFORD (9-1) will look to continue its terrific season against LANGWARRIN (3-7). CHELSEA will be keen to get another game ahead of bottom side KARINGAL when they clash. BULLS RUNNING HOT IN THE UNDER 17s... An in-form KARINGAL will look to make it three straight wins and shore up fifth spot when it hosts CHELSEA. The Bulls kicked 20 goals when they last played against the Gulls and Zane Merdanovic, Tom Baker and Lachlan Linder-Saunders have been in cracking form of late. BONBEACH has copped some heavy defeats but gets the chance to breakthrough for a win against PINES. SEAFORD (5-5) will look to put its finals hopes back on track when it meets LANGWARRIN. But the Kangaroos (73) have the chance to consolidate a top three spot. Ladder leaders FRANKSTON YCW, after a surprise loss last week, will look to quickly return to form against MORNINGTON. And EDI-ASP will look to stretch its four-game winning streak when it tackles MT ELIZA.

Club Notes The Mornington Doggies visit the Coburn Oval today where we battle for the Aidan Graham Shield . Watching on are the attendees of the 20 year reunion of the 1997 1st and 2nds premierships. Feel free to go upstairs during the day - challenge the embellishments of past feats and prognosticate on comparisons with current day. Last week Edi-Asp blew into town and torched us a bit. Murph’s Magoos were the only shining footy light prevailing in a low scoring slug fest. Marshalled by Captain Cowled, young ‘uns Lee, Fulton and Lee were able to see us home. The Unders led at 3/4 time but were over run in the final stanza by a committed Eagles outfit for our first defeat. Skipper Haydos led from the front and was backed up by Lachie Dalziel and Lane Meyer. In the Ones the game was pretty even but there were some foreboding signs. The Combine ran away with the game in the second half and prevailed by almost 5 goals. Bundy, Kyle, Lachie W and Bysa were best The Stonekittens won one game as their notes will attest On July 15 we are off to the RSL for the Candyland Gala Ball (dress is Colouful Cocktail) - tickets from Katie, Coey, Bussa and Maxine. The Collopy Club lunch is on July 29 (Karingal game) and the guest speaker is Hawthorn great Gary Buckenara. On August 19 (Chelsea game) we have the John Silvester (aka “Sly of the Underworld”) lunch where he’ll expand on matters Melbourne underworld. Club Notes Last week at the kennel the boys played well for most of the game and the final score did not show how close the actual game was all day with a last 1/4 blow out towards then end. A much better effort from the seniors from the last time they played the Pines but they will need to keep this going as they take on the might of what is the Frankston YCW today. In the Ressies playing against one of the top teams is something we should all look forward to , to see how far we have come this season but unfortunately is was not a good day for the twos as we struggled most of the day and was out played for most of the game . We must all regroup put the weekend behind us and be ready to take on YCW this week, a team that we played really well against in the first round. In the Pups, another challenging day for our opponent as the Pines had 14 boys available to play. In the spirit of the game 4 of our boys took the option to fill in and we had a game. After a slow start our game clicked into gear and we were able to hold Pines at arms length. Some good signs from a few of the boys who have been working hard on different elements of their game and persistence is starting to pay off. We look forward to the challenge of taking on YCW on the rebound and are fully aware that we need to bring effort for the full 80 minutes. Traveled down to Mounties last Saturday and had a pretty tuff day but overall the 3 sides all tried hard. The 19’s whilst undermanned due to promotions into the Seniors continue to turn up every week and give their all. The bond between this young group is 1st class and full credit to Knowlesy and Stretch for keeping them up. Hopefully over the next few weeks the 2’s can get some players back and notch a couple of wins in the back end of the season. Injuries have taken their toll but again the boys keep turning up. Well done Stevie as you have had a stressful few weeks as well. In the Seniors we again managed to find a way to have a Quarter off, the 2nd Qtr cost us and after that we managed to have a really strong 2nd half. Have to say Grant Trew was super for the whole game. Matt Ponton also had a big job and stood up. Karingal at Frankston Park this week so let’s all make an effort to get down there and support all 3 teams on the day. REMINDER / THE BALL SAT NIGHT !!! $5000 DRAW / SUNDAY 9TH JULY !! Also a big thankyou to all players, officials and supporters who got to the Kick it with Cal day and Chelsea Heights Footy Club last Sunday, all reports it was a huge success and all at the CFC wish Callum all the best with his recovery process, always been a fighter mate , keep punching, we are all with you ..

Good day at Mornington last week... Unders were competitive before tiring legs showed out in the end. Better players were Bezzene, Nicholls and White. Big chance for the W this week. Ressies played there best for the year winning comfortably. Tackling and pressure outstanding. Best players were Ludwig,Plane and McLaren. Seniors were sluggish early as the doggies came out firing but after time showed some polish to run away with a good win. Better ones were Potts, Scanlon, Hendry and Moody. Great night at the ball and welcome to everyone today inside. Enjoy the festivities Welcome to all sponsors and supporters to todays first legends lunch for the year. Local lad Damien Fleming is the guest speaker and we are expecting to have a big crowd to see the top 2 clash with our old Nepean league competitors Bonbeach. Let’s hope it’s a great day for the game. OWN THE HILL

The club enjoyed a good trip to Langwarrin last week. A 7 goal first quarter set up another big senior win. TDL and Macca again in the goals with 7 and 4 respectively. Sitting on top of the ladder the boys are to be commended on their continued improvement this season. The reserves continue to surge and find themselves in the top 5 after a physical contest. An important fortnight for Bully’s boys. In the 19’s Thommo pleaded for a 4 quarter effort and thats what he got. Outnumbered and often outclassed the boys gave everything and did the club proud against the odds in a high standard contest. Saturday night our Mid season Ball was well supported with over 200 attending. The event gets bigger each year. Congratulations to Paul who took out the Port Douglas holiday. Today we travel to Pines in a top of the table contest. Some unfinished business given the early finish of the round 1 match. A great test against a side that has recently had our measure. All matches promise to be competitive contests. The great Bonbeach events continue with a massive Bonbeach comedy gala 22nd July. 3 comedians, live music & finger food promises to be a fun night. Welcome everyone to RF Miles today! Looks like the fire pit will be in full use as we anticipate a chilly but sunny day! Enough of the weather report though, Last week it was exciting to see the debut of Jimmy Dickson. The U19’s skipper had a cracker pre season, his form has been rock solid & was a great reward for his hard work. A big thank you to our Netball department for putting on a fab trivia night last week. A full house had a great night that was superbly ran by co-hosts, Sally Mitchell & Ashlea Foot. NEWS FLASH The Seaford Football Netball Club is thrilled to announce the re-signing of senior coach Ben Murphy until the end of the 2019 season. Ben has made an outstanding impression at SFNC since arriving at the end of 2015 and has the men’s football program on a journey which all involved are thoroughly excited about. After narrowly missing the finals last year, Ben has the senior team pushing hard to play September football for the first time in several years in 2017. We travel to Seaford today with high hopes of 3 good performances. Last week up against Bonbeach we had a good win in the U/19’s . Good players included J. Holloway, Z. Foot, W. Davis, M. Watters, T. Branch, J. Longley. Despite playing an undermanned Bonbeach , we never switched our game plan our turned off the intensity . It was good to have such a good early win on the day. Our U/19’s form has been one of the real highlights of our year so far. Try and get down early and see them play their exciting brand of footy. Unfortunatley our Reserves and Seniors didnt share in the early winning form of our younger side. In the Seniors we played a good batch of enthusiaitic juniors. Though we competed hard all day, we couldnt put the score on the board. As always our intensity couldnt be questioned. good players included Mitch Cuthbert , Boof , Peachy and Tuddy. In the reserves we had good games from J. Biggs, J. Buxton, A. Eggleston, E. Parsons, A. Bradley, J. Longley. Giving younger players the chance to play senior footy can only be a positive , and every week they bring a real enthusiastic spirit to our team. With us now having turned the half way point in the season , it would be great if we could turn our form around, starting today up against traditional rival Seaford. Go Langy !!!

Karingal V Chelsea

Round 11 2017

This week the Seagals meet the Bullettes at the Bullpit in B, C & D grade. The undefeated Karingal A grade side have the bye today after defeating third on the ladder Seaford at home last week.

Edi Asp V Mt Eliza The Eagles took a comfortable win last week over YC while the Redlegs had a well deserved rest. This week they travel to windy Rowan’s Road to take on the 2016 premiers. Sitting comfortably in second position on the ladder, the Eagles should continue their winning way with a victory today over sixth on the ladder Mt Eliza. Pines V Bonbeach

Frankston YCW V Mornington The Stonekittens are at home again this week and welcome the Bulldogs. YC did not have a great day last week at home against the reigning premiers while Mornington were brilliant with a 38 goal win over the Pythons. Sitting in fourth position on the ladder – the Doggies should claim the win today over seventh placed YC.

Battle of the bottom of the ladder at the new court at the snake pit this week. Bonbeach last week lost to Langwarrin while Pines suffered a big loss at the hands of the Bulldogs. Someone will emerge this week as a winner. Who will it be? Seaford V Langwarrin Seaford welcome the Roos this week to Linen House. They are looking to redeem a large loss of last week that the Bulls inflicted on them to the tune of 26 goals. Langwarrin snatched a great win over the Sharks last Saturday and will be hoping to carry this form into today’s match.

Another excellent day of netty at the Bullpit with four from four! The D grade girls started off the day with a win by 24 goals. Laura Mac ran in centre all game and fed to the goalers combining with Alyce! Gerri was best on court with an impressive defensive display. C grade were neck and neck for the first quarter before pulling away by capitalising on the turnovers. Dan, Steve and Izzy were all on Tay is always reliable and combined with “harry high pants” Kiah in the midcourt. Julia, Mel and Elise Mac were the great wall of china in defence conceeding less than ten goals a quarter. B grade literally owned the day with a whopping 47 goal win. A win of that magnitude was a team effort. Well done girls! A grade topped the day off with a 26 goal win over third on the ladder. Remaining undefeated. Sammy was brilliant in goals combining with Birgitta. Captain Jayde kept their goalers at bay with only ten goals a quarter scored. Today we are at home again and welcome the Seagals. Remember the mid year ball is coming up on 8th July see Troy or Alyce for tickets. It’s OK to not be OK - it’s not OK to stay that way. Today the boys are wearing blue socks in recognition of this brilliant cause and bringing awareness to suicide, depression and mental health. #GOBULLS #REDWHITEBOOM

The Redlegs welcomed Chelsea to Toorak College on Saturday for B, C & D while A grade had the bye. D GRADE have been improving every week & with the competition as close as it is they need to keep the momentum going. Brianna had a ripper game in goals & is stepping up every week while Kristel was the intercept queen, really dominating in defence. They put their foot down each quarter & won 42 to 27. C GRADE was a tight match, it was goal for goal almost the entire time with both teams fighting hard to get the win. Credit to Chelsea who really tested our character in C grade with their intense defensive pressure. It was pleasing however to see our girls absorb the pressure & play their own game to come away with a 5 goal win (43-38). Maddie debuted for the team & contributed well while Tayla was on fire in goals. Holly was hitting the circle like a pro & it’s great to see her ongoing improvement. B GRADE got off to a good start putting their foot down for a 13 goal first quarter. They set themselves up well to increase the lead at each quarter. Chelsea however came back in the 3rd to really put the pressure on, but our girls were too strong & outrun the gulls to win by 11 (52-41). Allana returned for her first game back & what a performance, well done! Jayde, Di, Julia & Jamie were unstoppable in defence & made the Chelsea shooters work extremely hard. We would like to wish Sam M, Karen R & Abbey all the best in their recovery with all 3 having injuries at the moment.

Last week the girls came up against Edi. We always knew it would be a tough fight however depleted player numbers in the A grade made for an even tougher day. The girls stuck close until half time but Edi ran away with the game in the 3rd quarter. BOC goes to Lyshae Barry for her defensive work both in and out of the ring. The B grade stellar run of wins had to come to a halt sooner or later which it did last week against Edi. It was a tough game but unfortunately we weren’t able to capitalise on our turnovers, often undoing hard work with poor decision making and pressure passes. Shout out to Liv who returned for her first game after having baby Jack and ran out a very tough full game. BOC once again goes to our captain Katie Schneider! C grade girls played an excellent game for 3 quarters with the wheels falling off a little in the last quarter where we scored only 5 goals to Edi’s 13 goals. Lucky our hard work in the first 3/4’s allowed us to finish with a 10 goal win. Laura Ferguson had a great day on court with 10 intercepts! The D grade girls had a great first half against Edi but unfortunately went down by 12 goals. The girls chose smarter options this week and settled a lot quicker into the game. BOC goes to Rachael Clements for a pearler of a game goaling! She didn’t miss many today and kept working hard and using all options before shooting.

Saturday saw us take on the bulls... we came away with 4 silver medals.. D girls played an amazing game. Defensively you couldn’t fault the girls, they just couldn’t quite get the attack end happening. But Michelle was abosolutley stoked with the girls improvement. C girls came out swinging. In defensive the girls played well together and really made the karingal girls work, and in attack their was some really nice passages of play but again, karingal was just to strong. B, ahhh what can I say.. we were in it for the first 3 goals... defensively Kaileigh and Vera did an amazing job on 2 very accurate shooters.. we got plenty of ball, just wasted it most of the time, and when Ash and I cannot hit a shot to save ourselves.. that doesn’t help! We played the game out though and kept our heads up, and all had smiles on our faces! Thanks to Alana and Kaileigh for stepping up! A girls, what a game to watch! Amazing play all the way down the court, but the karingal girls were just to strong on the day for all games. High fives to Chelsea stepping up and killing it in defends when Mia went down with an ankle. Would just like to say a massive thank you to everyone who came to the trivia night last Friday. Was an amazing night, so many laughs and we made some much needed $ for the club! Well done to all the girls involved in organising and running of the night, special mentions to Chels, Sal and Tan! This week we are taking on Langwarrin, let’s get wins across the board girls.

One of our first players to graduate from the Aspendale Arrows, Molly is a dual Premiership Player, a best on court medalist in last years Grand Final & a club award winner. It’s great to see such a terrific player & club person achieve 50 games at such a young age & we look forward to many more years of watching the ‘Molly Magic’ on court! Last week we played YCW & as always the games were fiercely contested & of a high standard. We came away with 3 from 4 wins & it was satisfying to break their undefeated run in B grade after losing our last two encounters by only one goal! Also a big congratulations to the footballers on their fantastic performances last week!! This week it’s the Mounties at Dingley. Good luck to all high flying Eagle teams! Soar Eagles!!

Chelsea Seagulls

We had a hard task ahead of us against Mt Eliza this week, a top four side in all grades. Our D grade girls impressed today against a strong Mt Eliza side. We kept fighting all game to be only down by 8 at 3/4 time but unfortunately our silly mistakes cost us in the end. A big shout out to all the girls who never gave up and kept fighting. The girls should be very proud of their efforts today. The C grade girls really stepped up against Mt Eliza on Saturday. We welcomed back Kayla from injury who showed strength in the ring, Sallie is also always welcome to take the court to help us out when needed! Thanks Sal for your support! Perri was a stand out in wing defence creating turn overs and putting Mt Eliza under pressure throughout the game. B grade girls stuck close to Mt Eliza who had some new players in their side from our previous encounter. Brylee and Dana starred in the ring smashing the Mt Eliza defence! We had a new combination of defenders this week due to injury, everyone really stepped up and took on their roles! Shout out to Zoe has been smashing the defence end in recent weeks! We look forward to another challenge against Karingal next week.

Netball Notes Langwarrin Kangaroos Round 10 saw the Roos welcome the Sharks to Lloyd Park in what was an exciting day of netball. D grade got the day off to a good start, coming away with a 38 - 11 win. All the girls played their part, transititoning the ball nicely down the court and creating many scoring opportunities from their defensive turnovers. The C girls were impressive all game, applying a whole court defensive pressure that created a sense of panic amongst their opponenents, allowing the girls to take many intercepts, as well as the 4 points. After a slow start, B grade regrouped and eventually turned it up. In what was a physical second half, the girls stood strong, making smart decisions when they had possession to come away with a 1 goal win. With the inclusion of some players back into the side, the A girls produced a quality game of netball for their supporters. Different combinations on court, a mix of experience and new talent led the girls to a 25 goal win and a spot just outside the top 4!

inspiring in defence, literally taking intercepts and tips to Eliza relentlessly throughout the match. Katey also had a sensational game in goals to help build an insurmountable 35 point winning margin. C grade found their mojo again winning 54-11. Although we missed quite a few goals, we were pulling in plenty of rebounds. Demi and Jacqui are combining so well in goals and they were on fire working together and frustrating their very physical defenders. Meg, as usual had a ripper game. Working well with both Sarah and Emily who played her first game with the C team. BT, Mel and Lara rotated through the centre court nailing every position between them. D grade had a ripper game this week pushing themselves into 2nd on the ladder!! with a 29-6 win This team just gets better every week. With full attendance at training giving everything they have, showing passion and drive to learn, they reap the benefits out on court on a Saturday. Awsome jobs girls! Go Doggies Woof Woof

Mornington Bulldogs

Last week A grade score an unequivocal 38 point win over Pines. Tess C came out blazing through the mid-court, not allowing her player to really get into the match. During the second term Jess & Candace virtually shut down the goaling with their relentless defensive pressure. Georgia her on court leadership with a BOC court performance. B grade girls had an emphatic win. Monica was brilliant through the mid court and managed to provide some comical entertainment in the process. Carli was awe
