Bendigo Community Bank MPNFL Update Finals Week 3 2017 Welcome to the 2017 Finals Series. Week three of the finals series and things are really starting to heat up. We have our Netball Grand Finals on this weekend, Saturday is the Nepean FNL Netball Grand Finals being played out at Tyabb, while on Sunday the Peninsula FNL Netball Grand Final will be contested at FDNA. There will be some quality netball being played on both days, so make sure you get down to watch some high grade local netball.

2017 Presentation Night Well done to all our award winners on the evening. It was a fantastic night and was great to see all the clubs to come and support and recognise the player and volunteer’s performances for the 2017 season. To see who won what head to page….. Best of luck to all sides for this weekend.

For the footy its Preliminary Final week with both Saturday and Sunday’s venue to be Frankston Park, for Nepean FNL and Peninsula FNL. Who will be the teams to take might of Sorrento and Frankston YCW in the Grand Finals next week…well we will just have to wait until about 4:30 pm today. Australian Rules football’s favourite social version of the game returns with a new season of AFL 9s kicking off next month. Held in multiple venues across the state, AFL Victoria is encouraging people of all ages, skill levels and abilities to register a team for a fresh season of AFL9s fun. Participants can register a team in either a male, female or mixed competition which provides a social and fitness outlet that fits around their busy lives.

REGISTER your team at afl9s. com.au Victorian AFL Wheelchair Championships AFL Victoria, in partnership with Disability Sport & Recreation, is proud to announce the formation of the inaugural Victorian AFL Wheelchair Championships. Four teams made up of the best Victorian AFL wheelchair talent gathered at Casey Stadium last month to compete for the first Victorian AFL Wheelchair title. After a tough round-robin competition, it was the Saints and Magpies who qualified for the inaugural Grand Final. With the lead changing multiple times throughout the decider, it was the Saints who took home the silverware in a tight seven-point win. The final score was 6.6 (42) to 5.5 (35).

Football Preview Bombers to bury Buds By Toe Punt Whilst Rosebud will go into today’s Preliminary Final as favourite, given it beat Frankston just two weeks ago, one senses that the Buds have run their finals race. Rosebud was pretty good two weeks ago against the Bombers. The Bombers were pretty ordinary. However, given Frankston only had two winners for the day and lost by just 19 points, one gets the feeling that the Bombers are about to strike. In fact, I think the Bombers are certainties today. The Bombers were without Sam Fox (corked leg in the first quarter) and Alex Harnett in the Qualifying Final, without question two of the best players in the competition. Frankston coach Beau Muston said after their last hit-out that his team had come some things wrong and that they felt they would be a lot better prepared this time around. Playing Corey Buchan on Keegan Downie you can guarantee will be one of those ‘alterations’. You’ve got to play your best defender on the opposition’s best forward and the Bombers can’t allow Keegan to kick another six goals. Buchan played on Hastings’ Paul Rogasch last Sunday and did the job in Frankston’s massive 70-point win.

Football Preview Frankston got its nose in front of Hastings last week and rather than try and defend, it placed its collective foot on Hastings’ throats and destroyed them. If Frankston gets in the same position today against Rosebud, it needs to continue to press offensively. Slowing the game down and playing possession footy will only play into Rosebud’s defensive structures. Frankston needs to move it quickly, get the ball through the press with handball and get it in the forward half quickly to disallow Rosebud from getting numbers back. Sorrento opened Rosebud up the exact same way. Then again, it’s much easier when you don’t allow the opposition to touch the footy. As good as Rosebud have been this season, their stars appear to be getting tired. Ben Dwyer, Ryan Spooner, Brenton Payne, Jack Jarman, Greg Bentley and Brenton Davidge all looked leg-weary against Sorrento. It’s been a long campaign and I’m not sure how much they have left in them. Jake Corrin and Sean Downie were excellent but there was no zip other than those two. Frankston has learnt some valuable lessons this finals campaign and it will enjoy the benefits of that today. Jason Kingsbury, Dale Sutton, Matt Harris and Josh Chapman have a lot of run in them, Fox is right now, Harnett is a key and Ryan Kitchen will want to make a big statement today against Ben Dwyer, who is his nemesis.

Last time they met Despite trailing by 30 points at quarter time, Rosebud kicked 13 of the next 19 goals to record a 14.15.99 to 12.8.80 victory in the Nepean Division Qualifying Final. There was a significant wind advantage to the Kars St end of Frankston Park, Rosebud kicking three goals against it and Frankston just one. Frankston’s inability to break through the Rosebud press against the wind was significant. Kicking with the wind, the Bombers were able to use the likes of Nathan Lonie and Jarryd Amalfi to kick over the lines, however, against the wind, they just couldn’t penetrate. It again highlighted how strong Frankston was offensively, however, also exposed its inability to defend. This played into Rosebud’s hands, using its powerful, structured and disciplined team defence to lock the ball in its attacking half of the ground. The Buds had contributors and winners all over the ground too. Frankston did not. Dale Sutton was superb for Frankston and worked tirelessly, while Jason Kingsbury had 20-odd touches through the middle too. Ryan Marks-Logan held up in defence.

Football Preview It was an incredibly puzzling move by Frankston to play Allan Williams on Rosebud star Keegan Downie. Downie booted six goals and was one of his team’s best. We know Frankston like to free up the likes of Marks-Logan, Amalfi and Corey Buchan, but this was a move that went incredibly wrong. Rosebud dominated the ruck yet again, Ben Dwyer providing his smalls with first use of the footy, in the centre bounces and around the ground. Sean Downie was simply exhilarating for the Buds, gathering 24 disposals and booting two goals, both of them sensational. Jake Corrin was superb also, his tackling a feature. Best on ground was Jackson McRae, who completely dominated Frankston coach Beau Muston. Frankston’s cause wasn’t helped when Sam Fox copped a cork early in the match and didn’t spend much time on the ground. Alex Harnett was also missing due to Richmond duties.

What a fantastic weekend it was for the club last week, with the Reserves and Seniors turning the round 18 results around in emphatic fashion, then the unders getting the job done on Sunday morning. That’s 2 through to the big dance, and 1 to go. The Reserves were outplayed in round 18 and had to come up with a way to reverse the result and quickly. At quarter time one wondered whether we’d done enough with the wind but a 4 goal second quarter got the game back on our terms. They never looked back from there and now have earned the weeks rest before the big dance. Enjoy the build-up. The Seniors were after a fast start and got just that, peppering the goals in the first quarter. Those trends continued for most of the 4 quarters and like the scoobs have taken the direct path to the big one. Obviously we have another 2 weeks of work to do so leave no stone unturned in your preparation as the spoils at seasons end are worth sacrificing for. The unders continued their exciting run with a 15 point win over Frankston on Sunday. Having completed the home and away in 5th spot, we now find ourselves one win away from the last day in September. While we respect the opposition today we know we can beat them having done it through the season. Let’s do everything we can to have the mighty Sharks in the grand final in all 3 grades. Thought of the week: We feed our babies with little spoons and forks so do Chinese mothers use toothpicks!

A touch of finals Deja vu today, with the Seniors & Development Team headed back to Frankston Park to take on the Frankston Bombers. For both teams to have made their way to the Preliminary Final is a fantastic effort but we won’t satisfied unless we get through to next week. We need to reflect on our successes this season to put last week’s aberration into perspective. Nothing should be taken away from Sorrento’s performance but we can recognise that neither of our teams were anywhere near their best and our performances were not indicative of who we are and what we can be. The awards night for the MPNFL was held Monday night and the Club congratulates: Adrian & Greg on being named coach & captain/rover respectively of the Nepean League Football Team of the year and to Ben (Ruck) Sean (Wing) and Keegan (F/pocket) on their selections in the team; Millie McDermott on her selection as Wing Attack in the Nepean League Netball Team of the year; Sean on finishing equal 3rd and Ben & Jack equal 4th in the Senior Best & Fairest; Schultzy on being the reserves leading goal kicker; and Schultzy and Sterling finishing 2nd and 3rd in the reserves league B&F. Today we will be looking to our highly credential senior champs – Greg, Sean, Keegan, BT, Jack, Payney, Seb, Bart, Spoons and Development Squad guns – Jonesy, Bangers, Hairy, Whitey, Schwindy, Scotty, Zutter and Schultzy to be up and about and take both teams into the big dances of 2017. ..... and then there were two teams. Unfortunately the twos couldn’t get the job done last week against the Bombers. With more 50 metre entries, and shots for goal we failed to convert our opportunities with dire consequences. Congrats to all concerned for another super year with Josh, and let’s hope a number of boys can push up for a place in the ones. The U17s netballers were the shining light last week with a win against Dromana to take them in to the Grand Final against Pearcedale at Tyabb. Good luck girls I’m sure you will give it your best shot. The U19s will be looking for redemption this morning, after an ordinary performance against Somerville. They tackle Sorrento in a repeat of last year’s grand final, We will look for a big improvement today in order to have another crack at the Eagles. Congratulations to Jonah and Chris on their selection in the Nepean League Team of the year. Well done to all our players who polled in the Best and fairest awards last Monday night at Mornington. Sad end to the season for our under 19’s who put on a bold show out at Devon last week. the Club has been proud of your entire season and your efforts last Sunday did nothing to diminish our respect. Hats off to our coaching group coaching group in Zach Horsley, Mark Green, Doug Logan-Pulsar & team manager Sue for their skills & efforts in getting the boys to week 2 of the finals. After the disapointment of the young Bombers, the mighty efforts of the Reserves & Seniors put a spring in our step. The Two’s worked really hard & ground out a top win. Kissy was dangerous all day, Deano & Groves slick & Zac a rock down back. The Seniors brought their A game & dominated all day for a stress free supporters afternoon. We loved watching Kinga with his 5 goals, Malf & Corey controlled the defence & Skin ran into some nice form. The sun seems to have an added glow about it. And any sign of cloud coverage, let alone torrential rain, has disappeared in the blink of an eye. Somehow, someway it always happens like that. No matter how extreme the winter is everything comes together the minute that finals feeling rolls around. You gave your promise to me, and I gave mine to you…I need someone beside me…in everything I do…oh yes I do But with that comes the beauty of the football itself. There’s nothing quite like finals footy. That thing you spend all year working so hard towards. And for some it’s not just the past year. Sometimes it’s the culmination of many years of hard slog at the lower end of the pecking order. You know I love you…I always will…My mind’s made up by the way that I feel…There’s no beginning…There’ll be no end…cause on my love you can depend... The Future Is Here… The future can look like many things depending on which way it’s assessed. The future can be nerving, exciting, undefined and downright scary all at the same time. That’s a serious emotional wave there. Regularly we consider the future to be exactly there…in the future. Something that we think about but never really consider approaching. Yet the future isn’t just where we think it to be. It’s actually here. Right here, right now. The next word of this article that you read is actually in the future from the word you’re reading now. All of a sudden those nerving, exciting, scary feelings that the future causes are on top of you. That’s right…the future is here…the future is now. And that’s exactly what presents the SUA and the whole footballing community on the Peninsula this weekend.

The young stars of the future will strut their stuff this weekend in an exciting finale of games down at Hastings on Sunday. This season has been an absolute blast in the juniors with many new and enthusiastic faces taking up the challenge of learning and developing their whistle blowing and decision making in MPJFL footy. And credit must go to their application as many have also made the step into the senior ranks. With the changing of the guard in the senior ranks the sniffs of opportunity were too hard to ignore. However, the enthusiasm surrounding the SUA junior program would not be possible with the unwavering commitment from second year Junior Coordinator Scott Gathercole and the Rye Football Club. Scott came in with experience in coaching Auskick down the Peninsula and his ability to get the best out of our young future stars has been evident. The relationship developed with the Rye Football Club has enabled the SUA to set up a junior base at Rye to further expand our demographic. And while we regularly get caught up in the competitive wave of footy it is always nice to step back and see the lighter more sentimental side. Season 2016 has seen 3 fatherson combinations take the whistle and no doubt it won’t be long until young son is teaching dad a few little tricks to keep his aging body ticking along. So get down to Hastings this Sunday and catch a glimpse of the next wave of whistle blowing stars and Scotty and his team close the curtains and celebrate a wonderful 2017 junior season. Bendigo Community Bank TWO late Dandenong Stingray goals have deprived the Geelong Falcons the 2017 TAC Cup minor premiership on the final day of the regular season, but not enough to gain them the win on the day. The Falcons lead from start to finish is a low scoring affair with final scores 6.16 (52) to 6.8 (44) in wet and windy conditions at Victoria Park. With twelve bottom age players taking the field, with a few regular Stingray players missing on the day, noticeable in Luke Davies-Uniacke, Hunter Clark and Stingrays Captain Josh Bateman it was a mightily effort against arguably a full-strength Falcons who deserve to be favourites for the 2017 flag this year. It looked as though the Falcons were going to claim their first minor premiership since 2013 when they led Dandenong by 20 points late in the final term of the lowscoring contest, but time-on goals to Dandenong pair Jai Nanscawen and Lachlan Young cut the final margin back to eight points – and gave the Oakleigh Chargers the minor premiership by 1.73 per cent. The Stingrays now prepare to embark on their 13th consecutive finals campaign. However, there’s no second chances in this year’s TAC Cup finals with the loser of every match knocked out. The Falcons took full advantage of the wind in the first quart as they dominated the opening term, but poor conversion on goals and a staller defence led by Oscar Clavarino and Angus Paterson keep the game wide open (1.6 to 0.1) The Stingrays fought back hard in the second term taking their turn with the tricky breeze, but a costly rebound goal saw the Falcons led at the half time break (2.8 to 2.3). The start of the third quarter is known as the premiership quarter and the Falcons dominated kicking 3 goals 5 points, whilst keeping the Stingrays to 2 lousy points, which would be the undoing of the young Rays “We both lost two quarters on the day, but the Falcons played exceptional footy in the third quarter to gain scoreboard pressure,” Stingrays Coach Nick Cox said postgame. “We never really played good footy for most of the day.” “We did that for really a half a quarter and that was too late, basically we weren’t good enough to win the game. “We took the game on late, played with some flair with little regard, and it nearly paid off.” “I was pleased though we never gave in, this group has a lot of belief as we do in them.” Co-captain Oscar Clavarino was again a stand-out across half-back with his intercept skills on full show.

Stingrays Cox said Aiden Bonar, who returned after two long years of injuries, was one of the Stingrays’ best up forward and praised his football nous and strength when given some time in the midfield. The Stingrays will face the Eastern Rangers in a double header back at Victoria Park next Saturday at 2.15pm, with the first game starting at 11.45am. Cox said, “We wanted to finish top four, which is a goal the players set at the start of the year. Bendigo Community Bank Nepean Netball Preview – Grand Final A Grade: Crib Point v Tyabb Last time they met: 2nd Semi Final Crib Point 44 Def Tyabb 35 So, when people say it’s a grand final rematch during the home and away season, you think that yeah it will be a good game, where this week in the grand final it is a rematch of last year! Well done to both Crib Point and Tyabb on their successful campaigns to make it to the last game of the year. Crib Point will know that this time they are the hunted and will start favourites, as they are the reining premiers. Tyabb will be looking to continue the form that produced last week against Somerville and take it right up to the Magpies. Tyabb will need to be on their game early as if you let Crib Point out to any sort of lead it will be hard to regain.

D Grade: Frankston Bombshells v Rye Last time they met: 2nd Semi Final – Frankston 37 Def Rye 14 Once again both sides have had recent clashes with the results going either way. In round 16 it was the Dees by 7 goals, in the 2nd Semi it was Frankston by 23 goals. Rye would have been disappointed in the 2nd Semi loss to the Bombshells and will be looking to correct the poor game they had. Only team for Rye in finals action this year, so everyone in the Red and Blue will be cheering that they bring home the trophy. For Frankston they may not be the only team in the final, but they are the only netball team in the Grand Final for the Bombshells, so a sea of Red and Black will be around for the early game before moving over to Frankston Park to watch the boys play. Should both teams come to play it will be a great game of netball. 2017 Premiers: Frankston by 5 goals

2017 Premiers: Crib Point by 7 goals U17 Grade: Pearcedale v Red Hill B Grade: Somerville v Crib Point Last time they met: 2nd Semi Final – Somerville 39 Def Crib Point 26 Somerville will be all guns blazing today in their B Grade Grand Final. The Eagles have been the form side of the year finished two games clear on top. It will take everything that Crib Point has today to clip the wings of their feathered foes. The Magpies will take the confidence from round 18 when they defeat Somerville last. Crib Point will have to pull out all the tricks if they are going to win, but hard to go past a team that has only dropped one game all year.

Last time they met: 2nd Semi Final – Pearcedale 39 Def Red Hill 30 Pearcedale has been the best of the Under 17 group. Red Hill obvious not far behind but the panthers have managed to only drop one game for the year. Red Hill will need produce the goods for today if they are going to keep up with the Panthers. Pearcedale will be the favourites to take out this game but final are stressful time and grand finals have even more pressure so you just never know. 2017 Premiers: Pearcedale by 9 goals

C Grade: Crib Point v Somerville Last time they met: 2nd Semi Final – Crib Point 35 Def Somerville 32 This will be the third time in 4 weeks that these two sides have met. Round 18, it was the Eagles by 8 goals, the 2nd Semi it was the Magpies by 3 goals and booked themselves a place in the grand final. Somerville had to do it the hard way with an extra game, and only getting over the line against Devon Meadows by 1 goal. But it is all part of the journey, and Sommie are here now, so they will no doubt be looking to make amends for the 2nd semi. This game from previous score lines could go either way, in fact the prediction will be this game will go into overtime before Crib Point win the flag. 2017 Premiers: Crib Point by 2 goals

B Grade came out in blistering form in the opening quarter against Crib Point. Our midcourt were using the ball superbly and Sterchs and Tay were finishing off accurately. The 2nd was a different story with Crib able to read the ball better and restricted us to just 2 goals. A few changes were made in the 3rd which helped the ball movement & T really came into her own shutting down Crib’s shooting end. Going into the final quarter we were down by 10 but determined to make Crib earn their spot in the granny. Impressive whole court defence completely stopped Crib’s movement and we were able to turn the ball over numerous times. Unfortunately it wasn’t our day in the end but a fantastic achievement from a brand new team this season. A Grader absolutely turned it of in a fantastic display of netball. Defensively, Watto, Julz and Hose were an intimidating force, causing Somie to throw the ball away and miss shots. We had to adjust down our attacking end and use the ball a little more wisely which paid dividends by the third quarter when the match really opened up our way. The girls will need to continue on and carry this form into today’s match as we know the ball must be treasured at all costs. Being their 7th GF appearance the girls are experienced and know they must play their best if they want to take home that prized cup. Finally, good luck to our women’s footy side who take on Bass Coast in their granny tomorrow morning. NIP! NIP!

Somerville Eagles Last weekend was a mixed bag of results for our girls. Although the weather was not on the C girl’s side they had a great win! They were up against a determined Devon Meadows side. They went out firing for a win and even though they didn’t start as desired and down by 8 goals at half time, none of them dropped their heads. The comeback after half time was amazing. The movement of the girls was strong and the defensive pressure was solid. The goalers rotation and shooting progressed throughout the game and the decision making from the mid court made it easy for them to get the ball to the goalers and score. You should all be so proud of the game you all played girls! The A girls weren’t so lucky. Unfortunately it was not their day and Tyabb had them covered for most of the game. Although you didn’t get the outcome we hoped for, you should all be extremely proud of the season you have had! You worked hard and the improvements that you made as a team were outstanding. Today the C and B girls both face Crib Point. We all have our fingers crossed that we can bring home 2 flags for the club! GO EAGLES!!!! #flapflapswoopswoop

Crib Point Magpies GRAND FINAL DAY! We have three of our four teams playing today - A, B & C. The only club to do so. An achievement that we’re so proud of. I need a lot more words than I am allowed to describe just how much work has gone on on and off the court to allow this to happen. I will however take this oportunity to thank our incredible Coaching Panel who have gone above and beyond this season. Our coaches are all players themselves, they lead by example and are incredible assests to our club. So today...it’s a show down between us and Sommerville in both C and B Grades, and the 2016 Grand Final reply in A Grade against Tyabb. As a club, we have respect for our opponents and our game play will reflect this. We must be on our game to beat each of these teams. It’s going to be a tough day out, but we know we’ve done the work to come out on top. Let’s take those three cups home to celebrate what has been our best season in our short history. Our 17s have gained a well deserved place in the grand final next Saturday. They have trained well all season and now at the pointy end they are gelling as team. They are incredibly supportive of one another and their love of the game and their competitive nature will hold them good stead for this weekend. I wish the girls all the be very best, enjoy the game and give it your best shot you’ve got nothing to loose now.

The 2017 Netball Grand final Day is finally here! Our D grade Rye girls have done an amazing job to get here. After losing to Frankston in the first final the girls re grouped and came out firing against Devon. It was another cold and windy day, but the girls took control from the first centre pass. Tamara was on fire in the goal circle and the defenders were amazing at the other end. Every member of the team gave it their all and stepped up to the challenge. It was so great to see everything they have learnt during the season being practiced out on the court. We are all so proud of what the girls have achieved as a team this year and know that if they believe in themselves, they can bring home the win today. Good luck from us all, lets go get em! Crib Point - Coach Belinda Nerantzoulis “Wow, what another amazing season we have had. To have been so close to grand final action over so many years, and now achieve a grand final berth two years in a row is an absolute credit to the hard work and dedication these girls demonstrate week in and week out. They are such an amazing group of girls who would do anything for each other both on and off the netball court. It has been a privilege to coach such amazing athletes for the last two years and an even better feeling this year to be able to play alongside them. I truely believe we can do it again this year, along with our B and C grade girls! Let’s bring home the cup again girls!”

Tyabb - Coach Keira Wills This day has been building for a long time, from our trials at the end of last year, through preseason, the regular season and now the finals series. Our A Grade girls have come together across the year to build on each week and each performance and have found some extra spirit in order to bring us to today. We have a special bond that has translated to the court over the past few weeks and we are ready to tackle what today presents for us. An opportunity, a challenge and a chance to prove to ourselves and everyone else just what we are capable of. It won’t be easy…we know that Crib Point will fight every minute, and know that we need to find just as much fight to get the job done. We feel that our best game is still yet to come and when better to pull out our best game of the season in a Grand Final and in the 100thTyabb match for our influential captain, Watto. Thank you to our Yabbie family and the wider Tyabb community for consistently supporting us and our entire netball squad throughout the year. We are extremely proud of our netball program and we don’t mind saying that the evidence is there to support it being the best on the Peninsula. A grade Premiers last year, with representation in B grade and C grade finals. Those lofty achievements have been superseded to be contesting 3 Grand Final’s, A, B and C grade at the culmination of 2017. If you were a young netballer living on the Peninsula you definitely would have some great guidance at CPFNC. It really is the place to play netball. Congratulations has to go to all the players, coaches (Belinda, Adrienne and Leah/Tess) plus support staff. The early season fitness work and skills sessions have been well worth it. Accolades for Laura Herrington and Fi White who have truly established a culture of excellence. Your hard work and dedication has created something unique and one which creates a beacon for the rest of our club. We have attained so much without even stepping on the court today. We wish you all the best and know your preparation and focus is second to none. You are fantastic - every one of you and we are immensely proud of your achievements. The Development side had a good year and missed out on playing finals by percentage. Which left us with three, Girls footy, and two netball sides A and B Grades. These sides played off on the weekend with the Girls football side winning and putting themselves into a Grand Final after being one of the dominating sides all year. B-Grade unfortunately went down to Crib Point who on the day was the better side. A-Grade defeated the all year dominating Somerville by a huge margin putting them back where they belong, the benchmark of the League and of course into the Grand Final, well done to all the teams who pushed or who played in the finals and to the Girls footy and A-Grade girls good luck today and tomorrow. At the beginning of the season we welcomed 21 new netball players to the Somerville Football Netball Club. We were also excited to introduce the new D Grade team to the club. The season has produced many highlights including the “It’s Okay Not To Be Okay” round against Frankston Bombers and the Ladies Day event with the amazing grazing table made by Lisa and Stacey! At the MPNFL Awards night, the netballers were very successful, winning the following awards: Tayla Sharp – A Grade B&F and Team of the Year Jaimee Peney – Team of the Year Kristy Marshall – Coach of the Year Courtney Gilmour – C Grade B&F and Sharp Shooter Lisa Oakes – D Grade B&F Overall Netball Club Champion I would like to congratulate all the award winners. They have had an amazing season. The reason the club has been so successful this year is due to the entire playing group. They are an amazing group of girls and have been a pleasure to manage throughout the season. They play because they enjoy playing with their friends, have fun both on & off the court, and love learning & developing their netball skills. DRAWN FINALS NO FINALS WILL BE REPLAYED, IN CASE OF A DRAW IN ANY FINALS GAMES, EXTRA TIME WILL BE PLAYED. In the event of scores being level at the elapsed time, the timekeepers are instructed to sound the siren. The field umpire shall then: •

Direct the goal umpires to consult with each other as to the correct score. Teams are required to stay on the ground until goal umpires confirm scores correct.

•

On receiving confirmation that the scores are level instruct both captains that the match shall re-commence with the teams kicking to the same end as in the final quarter and that two five minute periods (with time on) shall be played with teams exchanging ends after the first five minute period immediately after the siren sounds.

•

Consult both captains as to their readiness to recommence the match.

•

Hold the ball aloft to indicate to timekeepers that the match is about to recommence.

•

The Timekeeper shall then sound the siren and the match will recommence.

•

In the event of scores being level after two five minute periods, a further two five minute periods (with time on) shall be played with clubs exchanging ends after the first five minute period.

This process shall continue until there is a result. Coaches are not permitted to address players at any stage after the three-quarter time interval.
