This weekend we are at Beaconsfield and Berwick and we’d like to thank both clubs for hosting us today and for all the volunteers who are giving up their time to assist. To ensure that everyone has a safe and enjoyable time, there will be members of the Victoria Police around the ground today, as well as increased presence of private security guards. Cars and bags will be searched to ensure that alcohol is not brought into the ground. Wet areas will be enforced in the Preliminary and Grand finals. Booze buses will be operating outside the venues. For the enjoyment of all, anyone displaying unsocial behaviour towards players, official, umpires or other spectators may be asked to leave. That’s all from the SEFNL Desk this week, best of luck to all clubs over the weekend.

AFL Blind Receives Funding Nod Blind and vision-impaired Victorians will have the opportunity to participate in Australian Rules football next season, following VicHealth’s Innovation Challenge funding announcement last week. AFL Victoria’s inaugural AFL Blind program is one of six projects that have been chosen as part of VicHealth’s $500,000 Innovation Challenge: Sport program, which supports new initiatives that help less active Victorians to take part in sport activities. In conjunction with Blind Sports & Recreation Victoria and AFL, AFL Victoria’s AFL Blind project will strive to develop an adapted version of Australian Rules football for the Victorian blind and impaired community. AFL Victoria FIDA Football & AAA Programs Manager Tim Nield said VicHealth’s support will help continue AFL Victoria’s commitment to make Australian Rules football the most accessible sport for all Victorians.
Proud sponsor of country footy for over a decade.
“There are approximately 1.1 million Victorians who have a disability, with only 1 in 4 participating in sport and recreation compared to 3 in 4 of the general public, so VicHealth’s funding is extremely important in helping us rectify these figures,” Nield said. “We are excited to work alongside Blind Sports & Recreation Victoria, AFL and key industry experts in this area to help us

develop the AFL Blind program which we believe will help increase the physical activity levels of inactive Victorians with disability. “AFL Victoria has a number of disability programs which offer people with disability the opportunity to participate in our great game, and through VicHealth’s support, we will now be able to extend our programs to allow any Victorian with any disability the chance to play Australian Rules football.” VicHealth CEO Jerril Rechter congratulated AFL Blind and the other winning projects for identifying new opportunities to get more Victorians taking part in physical activity. “VicHealth is proud to support such exciting and innovative concepts like AFL Blind. We know that being more active is good for the health of all Victorians, however there are certain barriers including age, disability and skill which prevent people getting involved,” Ms Rechter said. “We’re excited to be partnering with organisations like AFL Victoria as they trial their programs and get even more Victorians active in new and creative ways.” Blind and vision impaired Victorians keen to be part of the first-ever AFL Blind program should contact Tim Nield at tim.nield@afl. com.au to register their interest.

round 18 review Finals wk 1 preview
The final weekend of the home and away season didn’t throw-up
TOORADIN-DALMORE. CRANBOURNE welcomed back their captain
any surprises. Raging premiership favourite BERWICK restricted
Marc Holt whose six goals helped them fend off DOVETON. A late
arch rival BEACONSFIELD to only two goals and defeated the
goal to Ryan Jones sealed the six point win. PAKENHAM secured
Eagles by 34 points. NARRE WARREN extended their winning
their second win of the season downing HAMPTON PARK by 74
streak to six with a comprehensive 54 point win at home against
points.
CRANBOURNE V NARRE WARREN 2017 Matches Round 8 - Cranbourne 21.10.136 def Narre Warren 12.12.84 Round 14 - Narre Warren 8.9.57 def Cranbourne 4.14.38 Recent Finals 2013 Semi Finals - Narre Warren 20.11.131 def Cranbourne 6.7.43 2013 Grand Final - Narre Warren 14.16.100 def Cranbourne 15.9.99 Key Match-Ups Brandon Osborne (Cranbourne) v Nick Scanlon (Narre Warren) The league’s best defender will face-off against the league’s Best forward. Osborne continues to raise the bar in Cranbourne’s defence and it’s very rarely he gets beaten one-on-one. Since returning home Nick Scanlan has risen to the league’s most potent forward. Scanlan finished the season with 61 goals but was restricted to only two goals against Cranbourne this season. If Osborne can win this match-up again it will go a long way to securing a win for Cranbourne.

Highlights: Defeating Hampton Park twice
OFFICER - 7TH - 6-10 90%
Matt Fletcher (Cranbourne) v Trent Cody (Narre Warren) - Fletcher has been one of Cranbourne’s most consistent performers again this season and will go close to winning their best and fairest. Fletcher combines his silky skills plus a great ability of two-way running pushing hard into defence when required. Cody is your typical midfield prototype, he can run all day but also deliver the football on a platter to his forwards. Cody provides plenty of outside run and will be used as a link player for Narre to carry the footy forward. These two may not line-up as direct opponents if one player can have a bigger influence will swing the match in their teams favour.
PAKENHAM - 8TH - 2-14 60%
Coach - Lachie Gillespie
Lowlights: Not defeating a Top-4 team and losing twice to Officer cost them a finals opportunity.
QUALIFYING FINAL
Michael Boland (Cranbourne) v Troy Mengler (Narre Warren) Boland has once again proved himself to be one of the premier tap ruckman in the league. Boland uses his size and aerobic capacity to his advantage. Boland towers over most of his opponents and uses his agility around the ground to become a fifth midfielder. Young Magpie Troy Mengler has grown into his role as first choice ruckman. What Mengler lacks in senior experience he makes up for aggression at the contest. Mengler has risen to every contest including a recent battle with the imposing Rus Gabriel. If Mengler takes his game to another a level during finals he will become a weapon for Narre Coach Heath Black. Boland and Mengler will try and create opportunities for their team mates around the ground, Boland is known to playing a kick behind the play filling up space in the defensive half. With a result dictated to by a midfield battle this contest becomes vital.
Lowlights: Low numbers on the track, unable to defeat any teams above them on the ladder.

Lowlights: Not defeating a team playing the in the finals series.
Lowlights: Losing streak extended to 32 matches

Result - Narre Warren enter the Qualifying Final in red-hot form winning their last 6 matches including wins against Cranbourne, Beaconsfield and Doveton. After looking like a bit-player during the first half of the season the 2013 premiers have stormed back into finals contention. Cranbourne are yet to produce their best football during Season 2017, but still hold an ominous finals record which rivals anyone in the South East, five consecutive grand finals and winning the premiership last year make the high-flying Eagles a tough opposition for any of the five teams competing for premiership glory. Both teams have built a fierce rivalry as they have been on top over the SEFNL perch over the past five years. On current form it appears Narre might have the
8

SEFNL | FOOTBALL
slight edge but Cranbourne have the luxury of an even blend of youthful exuberance and match winning brilliance. The Eagles have been preparing themselves for another tilt at premiership and will be ready for the acid test that Narre bring. Each team is exceptionally coached and drilled on what’s required to be prepared for the rigours of finals footy. It’s going to go down to the wire on form Narre would be the tip but finals can throw an array of different outcomes which has Cranbourne right in this contest. Narre by 11 points. ELIMINATION FINAL BEACONSFIELD V DOVETON 2017 Matches Round 6 - Beaconsfield 6.11.47 lost to Doveton 8.8.57 Round 16 - Doveton 13.9.87 def Beaconsfield 6.3.39 Recent Finals 2016 Elimination Final - Beaconsfield 9.8.62 def Doveton 9.6.60 2015 Elimination Final - Beaconsfield 12.13.85 def Doveton 9.6.60 For the third time in as many years Beaconsfield meet Doveton in another elimination final. Doveton are yet to advance into the second week of finals, going down by 25 points and two points last year. The Doves appeared to be in a winning position last year before being cruelled by injuries after leading for much of the contest. Doveton must be confident going into this year’s finals having beaten Beaconsfield twice included a great win under lights in Round 16. If Doveton can re-capture that form from a fortnight ago it should be enough to get win in the sudden death elimination final. Beacy aren’t playing their best football at the moment but same could have been said last year when the Eagles scrapped through the first week making it all the way to the preliminary final. It’s going to be a fierce contest which will be decided by which team can execute on the day. Key Match - Ups Scott Meyer (Beaconsfield) v Rus Gabriel (Doveton) - The battle of the big men is worth the admission price alone. Meyer is a dual-league best and fairest winner and premiership ruckman against Gabriel who has achieved it all apart from a premiership at Doveton. The enthralling contest will go a long way to deciding the outcome for either. Gabriel has formed formidable partnerships with Nick Battle and Sam Raru, stopping Gabriel will nullify a lot of the Doves drive. Meyer hasn’t been at his optimum best this year but it won’t take Meyer much to rise to the special occasion. Expect both big men to assert themselves on the contest early to swing momentum in their teams favour. Daniel Battaglin (Beaconsfield) v Taylor Joyce (Doveton) - Battaglin is the Beaconsfield’s most experienced defender and looks the best match-up against former premiership team mate Taylor Joyce. Joyce hasn’t had the most productive season in front of goal due to injuries but is a known big match player. In a match which shapes as being low scoring Joyce could be an avenue to goal which would need to be stopped and Battaglin is the man to do it. Result - Doveton take better form into the contest pushing both Berwick and Cranbourne to within a kick and were too good for Beaconsfield twice during the year. If Doveton can reproduce their best form in a sudden death final which they haven’t been able to do in a recent finals campaign they should progress into the second week. Doveton by 13 points.

Great finish to the season by maintaining the Frank Elliot Shield and The Battle of the Creek Cup after defeating Beaconsfield at home. It was a wet wintry day but still very well attended. We had 65 in ther coterie tent and 25 ladies in the Lady Day marquee. Good work all those that organised these events
Friday 28th September Presentation Night Dinner
The Reserves also had a great win but unfortunately the under 19s went down to a strong Beacy team.

@sneakycheesebeacy
A pretty good round for us last weekend as we managed to win three from four games. Our 19Bs kicked off the weekend on a cold and wet Friday night with a fantastic victory against second-placed Pakenham at Pakenham to virtually ensure they play finals this year. With the contest even throughout the match, our boys stuck with Pakky to trail by 7 points at the main break. Our second half however was to be our best half of the season. Knowing the boys needed a win to all but confirm their spot in this year’s finals, our boys outscored their opposition four goals to one in the second half to record a memorable 11-point win. Best for us were Josh Wilson, Hodgey, Johno Lucas, Jye Clarke, Josh Patterson and Tyler Higgins. Now for Officer as we prepare for a 1st Semi-Final in a fortnights time against Narre Warren. The 19As had plenty to prove after last week’s disappointment and didn’t let themselves down by registering a resounding 77-point win against Doveton. While we jumped out of the blocks to register 4.3 – 0.0 by ¼ time, we took our foot of slightly in the second to give them a sniff by ½ time. But our third quarter was arguably our best for the season as we piled on 5.4 while again holding Doveton scoreless to wrap the game up by ¾ time. And we didn’t quit there as we played with plenty of confidence that will set us up greatly for a tilt at the flag. Best for us were Jake, Haz, Rama, Hayden, Bailey and Tom Stiglich. The As have a Bye this week.
And that’s a wrap for the 2017 home and away season! What an amazing season it has been too. As we venture into the finals series we want to congratulate both our reserves and senior sides in making the finals. Well done to both first time coaches in Aaron and Chris who have been fantastic throughout the whole season in mentoring and guiding the boys. Unfortunately our U19’s side don’t qualify for finals due to the structure of the competition. Well done boys on a brilliant season and a massive shout out to their coach in Nanga. Nanga has struggled with numbers week in and week out and still 100% committed to the role and stayed positive throughout the whole season.
quarter, Doveton skipped out to a two-goal lead by ½ time. By ¾ time we had turned that around to be a 10 point lead and while Doveton certainly threw everything at us, even leading late in the game, our experience in close matches shone as we came away with a win over a much-improved Doveton outfit. Best were Maxxy, Zak, Jonesy, Dill Bass, Darbo and of course the Train, who slotted a lazy 6 on his return to the game. Great to see him back. This week we have the 2nd Semi Final against Narre at Beacy in what should be a cracker. Events Cranny Cup tickets are for sale and extremely limited. Out of 120 we only have 15 left at the time of writing. See the flyer on this page to secure your spot at the Cup before all tickets go.
Under 19s battled hard but unfortunately fatigue was an issue in the second half again for a guys. Ricky Johnson continued his outstanding season. A massive thank you to Motty for your help throughout the season, Toddy for doing the running and Shirl Cackett for being the team manager. Without you guys our club wouldn’t run and our team wouldn’t take the field every single week.
Presentation night will be held at Amberlee Receptions on Friday 22nd September. Cost is $55/head which includes a carvery meal as well as entertainment. Dress is semi-formal. Good luck to all teams today. Go Eagles!!
The reserves showed great character to come from behind and win to secure 3rd spot and a double chance in finals. Jacko and Azza played well, but it was a great team effort in the second half that got the 4 points. A massive thank you to Paul Rodriquez who has been the team manager all season, Steve Henwood who has helped out in the coaches box and Joel ‘The Whip’ Cooley who has been the runner.
Our reserves just haven’t found the form of 2016 all year and this one was a game they could’ve and probably should’ve won. Kicking in to the wind in the first quarter, we held them up really well restricting Doveton to just one goal. In the second, and with the wind, we kicked four to their zero and we looked as if we were going to finally beat another side vying for finals contention. But our second half was not finals footy material at all, scoring just one goal in a disappointing result while they kicked 5. We will now play Beacy in an Elimination Final and we need to improve and play the footy we know we can if we are going to win this one. Best were Miceli, Harks, Lachie, Russo, Brendan and Limey.
The seniors battled hard all day and stayed competitive against a strong Cranbourne side. Again Big Russ was instrumental in the ruck accompanied by Will Smith and Sam Raru in the midfield. We fought hard all game, but unfortunately went down by a goal. As we head into our first week of finals, it’s nice knowing we have only gone down by under a goal to both 1st and 2nd ranked sides in the competition. A massive thank you to Chris Roddaz and Nanga Wilson who have been so supportive throughout this season. Also to Bazza Mac who has done the running for the boys. And last but not least Sammy Bianco who has been my assistant coach and team manager. It’s been a pleasure to work alongside you guys and without you the team wouldn’t take the field week in week out! This weekend our reserves take on Berwick on Saturday 26th August in the qualifying final. Whilst our seniors play on Sunday against Beaconsfield in an Elimination final. Good Luck to both sides! Whilst over at our netball 6 sides play in the finals series across the whole weekend.
Our seniors were pushed right to the end against an improving Doveton as we held on to come away with a six point win. Our last two games have been hard fought which is just the preparation we need coming in to finals. After an even first

Helen Henwood – For your continuous hard work every single Saturday! If she isn’t cleaning, she is in the canteen or preparing food. Cass Hackett – Not only was she the president for Netball and smashed that out of the park…she ran the canteen for every single home game. Donald Henwood – For running the bar every single Thursday Night. Jude Warkuss – For running the apparel the whole season for both Football and Netball. Mark Tapner – Who does all 3 teams scoring every single week. Without people like you around our club we wouldn’t get to play football or netball! We truly thank you guys! Good luck also to our 6 netball sides who are playing finals across the weekend too! Let’s get down, support one another and do the club proud! Go Doves! #doveylove
Narre hosted Tooradin in Round 18 and was able to retain the Chris Thompson Cup and finished off the home and away season in fine style with 3 wins. We wish Tooradin all the best of luck going forward and have appreciated our battles with them over many years.
And with 7 seconds remaining in the game he scores his 5th goal and as it turns out wins league goalkicking by 1, a funny moment.
A big thank you to all our volunteers this year including many footballers & netballers, who have helped out in the canteen, on the BBQ, at the gate, on the coffee machine , marking and cleaning the grounds and surrounds , and behind the bar. All your time & efforts are very much appreciated.
Proud of our season to this date , boys are committed to their club , each other & training , looking forward to the finals series.
Special thanks to Darryl & Maree, Joffa & Sonya, Tammy & Deano who have helped out enormously. Seniors - Our Ones outplayed Tooradin across the ground - Josh Tonna, Michael Collins and Hayden Stagg dominating the midfield; Benny King and Sam Mc Lean solid in our dominant defence; Richo and Scanners leading strongly up forward. Tooradin worked hard but were unable to attack their own goals while also defending the constant forward pressure that Narre applied at our end. We enter the finals in good nick, playing confident footy. Reserves Playing final home& away game against an undermanned Tooradin in really wet conditions for the first time this season We controlled game early and peppered goals continually although accuracy was not a strong point on the day. After halftime we were trying to get our Captain Mitch Tonna as many goals as possible , Tooradin twigged what was happening and played a tight defender on him
Best players on the day Corie Intveen kept his good form going , JB faustin , Jack Wheeler .
Under 19B – This week saw Tooradin come to Fox Rd. As our boys finish with a bye, this would be our last hit out before we enter finals. Tooradin had a slim chance of reaching that 4th spot for finals so we knew they’d be competitive. However our boys got off to a solid start and led by 13 points at the first break. With the ground holding so much water from the rain the night before, conditions were tough for most of the game, but it was evident our boys were handling conditions better blowing the lead out to 28 points at half time then by 48 at 3QT. Narre continued to have the edge over their opponents and maybe if it wasn’t for some inaccurate kicking the final margin could have been bigger, as it was, Narre victorious by 60 points. Kyle Contencin played a super game up and down the wings and contributing to many of Narre’s goals, chipping in with 3 for himself. Zac Gullivan, Josh Collett and James Milovojevic also amongst the better on the day. A big thank you goes out to all who have supported our Development side throughout the home and away season, it’s been fantastic seeing our young group grow into a strong side who now hope to push deep into finals and perhaps bring some silverware back to Fox Road.

The under 19s today play with a full compliment of players this week for our final game against Tooradin. Last week we lost to Cranbourne, and this weekend is the perfect opportunity to fine tune ourselves before our second semi final clash next weekend. During the second half of the season, many of our players have been playing

round 18 netball review
BEACONSFIELD returned to the winners list in emphatic style defeating BERWICK by 16 goals. Berwick’s loss saw them drop to eighth position on the ladder but they’ve shown some promising signs in the second half of the season. The Wickers have the plenty to build upon and their ladder position is more of a reflection of how close the competition has been during the year, Berwick’s season will be remembered for back-to-back draws in the middle part of the season. DOVETON were expected to drop off with a tough month of netball to finish the season, well the Doves stood tall in adversity winning three of their last four games. Doveton’s final scalp for the season was defeating CRANBOURNE by 19 goals, which
Wk 1 finals netball preview
should provide a huge confidence boost as they face-off against the Eagles in a sudden-death Elimination Final on Sunday. The Doves are playing their best netball at the right time of the year and are a genuine finals threat if they can bring their form to the biggest stage. The top of the table clash between NARRE WARREN and TOORADIN-DALMORE didn’t live up to expectations as the reigning premiers flexed their muscle in a commanding 18 goal win at home. HAMPTON PARK returned back to the winners list defeating the winless PAKENHAM by 21 goals as the Redbacks finished the home and away season in sixth position finishing three games outside the Top-Five.

2017 Matches
Round 4 - Doveton 48 def Cranbourne 46
Round 2 - Beaconsfield 33 lost to Tooradin 50
Round 18 - Cranbourne 28 lost to Doveton 47
Round 14 - Tooradin 45 def Beaconsfield 42
The Doves stocks have risen dramatically over the past month of Netball. Doveton have always looked to threaten throughout the season but they have equipped themselves for finals netball with an impressive four weeks which includes wins over Tooradin, Beaconsfield and Cranbourne. At full strength The Doves have the personnel to take it up to any side on any day. Rahni Samason has enjoyed a breakout season and will be looking to command the ball in the shooters circle and shoot the Doves through to the semifinals. Cranbourne’s success has been built on a strong defence, Tara Cecil and Sharni Lambden have built a strong back two and work hard to eliminate as many scoring opportunities as possible. Cranbourne hasn’t been represented often in the A-Grade finals over the past decade and the Eagles will be pumped to produce their best in the finals atmosphere. Can The Eagles stop The Doves attacking prowess?? The match will be determined by which team can dominate the midcourt which will propel them towards a much deserved victory. It looks to be a close contest but getting the win in the final match of the home and away season should provide Doveton enough confidence if they can reproduce the same game they will go into the semi-finals. Doveton by 3 goals.
Tooradin have been one of the form sides of Season 2017. The Seagulls started the season on fire and left everyone in their wake, the second half of the season hasn’t been as kind losing three matches and dropping to second on the ladder. Finishing second is a wonderful result for a netball club which went through a full transformation from only two seasons ago. The Seagulls take on the perennial finalist Beaconsfield a side enriched with a wonderful finals record. The Eagles form has been a little shaky going into the finals but their aspirations would have been buoyed after a strong win to finish the year. Tooradin won both matches during the year and appear to have the squad to test Beaconsfield again this week. Alex Maher and Alex Duff have been the cornerstone of Tooradin’s terrific season and the dynamic duo will need to be at their best to get important win. Beaconsfield will take an advantage playing the final at home but it will be irrelevant if The Eagles don’t start the match well as The Seagulls will bringing plenty of momentum into the contest. Finals experience can be vital during the heat of the contest which Beaconsfield have plenty of players who have produced on the biggest stage and will be relying on their leaders to recapture their form when they need it most, a win here will provide a massive confidence boost to their premiership credentials. Tooradin by 7 goals.

A Grade got back on the winners list against Berwick. We started the game off slowly, finding some form & passages of play as the qtr went on. Was good to be able to try some different combinations over the course of the 4 qtrs, & also give a 4th U17 player an opportunity to experience A Grade. Well done to Mikaela Dakic on her great debut at GK & GD.
packs to be won
B Grade finished the season with the Battle of the Creek. The Wickers proved some stiff competition for most of the game. The girls were able to make a decisive move in the 3rd qtr to push out the lead. They finished the game with a victorysetting us up nicely for finals. Congrats on finishing the season on top of the ladder.

C grade started fast with some solid running through the midcourt, our shooters were on & we managed to take control in the 2nd half & kick away for the rest of the game. Congrats to Jordan for receiving the Battle of the Creek medal for best on! D Grade had a convincing win in the Battle of the Creek & our final game for the season. It was great to see the girls control the game for the whole 4 qtrs especially in trying conditions. Our focus now shifts towards finals & putting in a great training session before our upcoming game on Saturday. Good luck to all Beacy teams in finals. 17 Red-What a way to finish off the season with a win. I just want to congratulate the girls for all of their hard work & dedication that they’ve put in over the year, & wish them all the best for finals. 17 White-The girls were looking forward to finishing off the season against Berwick. It was a tight 1st qtr seeing Beacy take a 1goal lead to qtr time. The 2nd qtr saw the downpour come, the girls settled well & put together some great wet weather netball. Beacy built across the 2nd half & came away with a victory & as winners of the Battle of the Creek! Bring on finals! 15 Red-A big game this week to keep our finals hopes alive. The girls were ready after a disappointing loss back in R1. A few early turnovers & some fantastic goaling, we had the lead going into the 2nd qtr. By half time we were down by 4. The girls kept at it & with some great work across all areas, we fought back from being down in the 3rd to losing by 3, just enough to scrape us into the Elimination Final. 15 White-After our loss, we need to see a lot more control of the ball down the court like in previous weeks, so let’s hit training with this in mind for finals. Thanks to the U13’s in Kasey, Jaimee, Imogen & Bella for helping us out. 13 Red-The girls had a fantastic start. It was cold & wet, but

that didn’t deter the girls! The 1st qtr we applied everything we had learnt throughout the season, playing with passion, intensity, & hunger. It was no surprise by the end of the 1st qtr we were leading against one of the strongest teams. Berwick then responded & came back fighting hard for the ball. Unfortunately in the end we ran out of power & Berwick charged home strongly. 13 White-After not meeting since Round 1, we were not sure what to expect. Berwick’s improvement was noticed, but as was the stamina our girls showed. The game wasn’t free flowing due to pressure both teams were applying & it was great to try & counteract Berwick’s game. The final score didn’t reflect the standard of the tight game. It must be noted the fantastic effort the girls have made throughout the season to remain undefeated-now the fun begins for finals!
berwick Round 18 saw the last of the Home and Away season be another big game day on the cards for the Wickers, with Battle Of The Creek.
Now that the home and away series is done and dusted we are looking forward to the next few weeks as we head into finals. With the bigger crowds cheering, coaches screaming, and all the players hearts beating a little faster. That’s what finals is all about.
With trophies & #wicker pride on the line this round had some big games leading into finals, the Wickers certainly had their eyes on the prize.
All of our teams have been training extra hard this week, preparing physically and mentally and we are looking forward to seeing our teams play their best netball yet!!
13 & Whites came up against the undefeated Beacy side, who they went down to by 25 goals in the opening round. This time our little #wickers came out fighting and narrowed the margin to 15 at the final siren. Mel Guic will lead this team into their first final this weekend, a great achievement after stepping in to coach this young up & coming talented group the day before Round 1.
15 white finished 3rd and will take on Berwick in the qualifying final. They have the second chance if things don’t go our way be we hope not to need it. 17 White finished 4th and will play the make or break elimination final against Pakenham.
13 & U Reds came away with their 2nd win against Beacy for the 2017 season. With a little bit of a slow start, these girls pegged their way back the only way they know how, strong full court defence. The combination of twins Annie & Cass O’Brien, great midcourt movement by Holly Moulday, Ava Spence and Ava Hicks, along with consistent goaling by Kaylah Loulanting, Dehansa Herath and Brooke Abu-Jaber. Janelle Snelling leads these talented bunch of #wicks into finals this week and we can’t wait to see what the outcome is for them all.
17 Red also finished 4th and will taken Roc in their elimination final. D grade held on to finish 5th on the ladder and will play Hampton Park which is also an elimination final. Throughout the season there had only been a couple of goals difference when they played each other. This will be a very exciting game to watch.
15 & U Whites, had a strong lead right from the first whistle and the game was definitely their’s for the taking. With determination and amazing teamwork these girls wanted to better themselves against Beacy from Round 1, where they went down by a narrow 5 goals. This week was a huge win for them taking the trophy after a 12 goal win. The club are super excited about these girls leading into finals, they have improved week in week out under the coaching of Bridget Arthurson.
C Grade finished 3rd on the ladder and will take on Beacy in the qualifying final this week. In both games during the season Beacy came away with the win so our C grade girls are fired up and ready to show the big crowd expected what they are really made of. A Grade finish 5th and will take on Doveton again this week. After a tough game last week our A graders are ready and determined to get though to the next round.
15 & U Reds knew they had a battle on their hands this week with some illness midweek and the return of a leading goaler for Beacy back after an injury. The battle was definitely on in the final quarter which saw Beacy narrow the margin to 3 goals. The #wickers held their own at every centre pass in the final minutes, working as a team and ensuring that they took home the 4 points. Final score 26-23 see’s these 2 teams battle it out again this weekend in the Elimination final. Leanne Walford and her talented young ladies will bring their A game this week and will fight to the end.
We wish all teams the best of luck including our footy boys who will be wanting a repeat of last years results :) Thank you to the ongoing support from our sponsors Trios sports bar Yo-get-it Thermofilm Sportsco
Give it you all #wickers we are super proud and will be courtside cheering you on at every moment during the finals.

U13 White the baby Doves I think you showed everyone today exactly how talented of netballers you actually are. From the first centre pass we showed Cranbourne we were there to win playing one of the best games of the season. Amazing team work and sportsmanship was shown by my girls. U13 Red what a way to finish the season, after losing to Cranbourne by 10 the first time and winning by 5 the second time shows just how far these girls have come. We left our lead too late to come firing home but I am so proud of each and every one of you for your efforts this season. U15 White - Yesterday wasn’t quite our day but our score line improved on last time we met Cranbourne as a coach that’s all I can ask for improvement. You guys got better and better as the season went on!Well done very proud of each and every one of you xo U15 Red – Super slow start to the game with Cranbourne really coming to play. We were full of sickness, slow sloppy passes and looked like we didn’t want to be there. Zealand in GK really lifted in the last half, taking some amazing intercepts assisted by Holly who moved the ball down the court amazingly. Next week we play in round one of finals – come prepared, come motivated and come ready to win! U17’s white - Had a very good but slow game due to the weather. But slow suites us as our defence worked really hard with amazing rebounds and intercepts during the entire game. Well done girls and congrats for finishing 3rd.
We were excited to finish our season on a high with all other senior teams winning, the pressure was on. For the 2nd time this whole season we had out team together and it proved out on court we were stronger than our season had been. Was great to see the girls have some fun in the last quarter all moving positions and seeing the girls have fun.
C Grade - Not the desired result however, my heart is full of both pride and joy! These ladies went out there and gave it their all in that last game, just to try and stay in the competition. We ended up with even points to four other clubs in the end but unfortunately, our percentage couldn’t see us over the line for finals. What B outstanding season for my girls! So much growth and experience gained throughout this campaign not only for my girls but for me too and it’s been an absolute pleasure to coach such amazing women in a sport I have so much passion for. Thank you for the opportunity. #UPTHEDOVES A Grade -Last home and away And we have put together a fantastic month.. Today we played Cranbourne who we play next week. A good test to see where we are.. With Liz, and Mel Killing it in interceptions, and rebounds, giving our mids and goalies plenty of ball.. Kyla Quinn Showing just what a Star she will be, with fantastic attitude towards her game. With a great mix of youth and older heads. We look forward to a big finals month....We all work hard, we can get to where we want to go!!!!
U17 Red - A-Well Well Well What a way to finish off our home and away season. Today I saw A young women play the most amazing personal game. She showed just how mentally strong she is. She gave her all, and I’m so very proud of how far she has come.. Today was some good and bad, Need to be ready, switched on, and killer attitude next week... Finals next week.. Levels need to lift.. Bring it on... J.B. Out!!!!!!! D Grade – Last week’s game determined if we have a double chance in finals and did we come ready to play! First quarter we moved the ball down the court a treat and our goalers where moving so well in the ring. We dropped off early into the second quarter and allowed Cranbourne back into the game. Amazing team effort. Weather you got a full 4 quarters, 1 quarter or none that’s what team work is all about!

2016 has seen many goals achieved for the Tooradin Dalmore Netball Club. We have had a huge focus on our junior teams this year and have seen some impressive performances from all players in all 6 junior teams. We can not wait to see our U13 Red team in action this week as they take part in their first ever finals game for our club. It has been some years since we have seen a junior team challenge the top five and to have these girls finish third on the ladder is something to be really proud of. We know these girls are a hard working and determined bunch and we look forward to cheering them on hopefully progressing to the next round. Best of luck to coach Lisa and the team.
