A Revival of God Consciousness
e art of the deal has invariably become the art of the vulgar steal. When individuals practice deception, the objective is to steal from others, even if it is no more than ideas and thoughts. Therefore, God has instructed us to: “Lay hands suddenly on no man, neither be partaker of other men’s sins: keep thyself pure” (1 Timothy 5: 22).
Unfortunately, Christian Right Evangelicals, e GOP, White Nationalist Groups, Fox “FAKE” News, and some misguided Blacks and other minorities, are openly defying God’s Words of spiritual warning given by Apostle Timothy for White Privilege Autocracy rather than embrace multi-cultural democracy: shameful. God has and still is blessing America even amid the evil desires of some to be confused to believe the BIG LIE: the art of the steal.
Even though, most Americans know that it is not real, because former President Trump is a chronic habitual liar, and the truth is not in him.
Former President Trump and his mindless allies have absolutely no fear of GOD but know this America: “Better is little with the fear of the Lord than great treasure and trouble therewith” (Proverbs 15: 16). And: “Better is a little with righteousness than great revenues without right” (Proverbs 16: 8). us: “ e fear of the Lord is the instruction of wisdom: and before honour is humility” (Proverbs 15: 33). God desires that individuals spend their time and energy loving and serving others in the name of Jesus Christ, which in turn, is pleasing to Him. America, there is a way that seems right, unto individuals, but in the nal analysis, America is highly blessed and favored. No doubt about it, God has blessed America, immensely. America is still an un nished spiritual work in progress as a multi-cultural democratic society, because we have a group of demented fringe Americans who are tightly organized and desire “something for nothing,” such as: Christian Right Evangelicals, e GOP, White Nationalists, Fox “FAKE” News, and some spiritually misguided Blacks and other minorities.

What Kind of Change We Wante Art Of e Steal
Do we want Systematic Change, Temporary Change, Conditional Change, Spare Change, Seasonal Change, or Chicken Change?
Systematic change starts locally by simply being involved and informed in our own communities. It’s great to vote as long as it’s an EDUCATED vote versus JUST voting because that’s what we’ve been taught to do. You shouldn’t “Just Vote,” but rather research then vote. Systematic change will begin and end with politics. It’s very important to know who and what you are voting for. Temporary change is exactly that! Changes only made to pacify the people
or changes made to satisfy temporary outrage a er an injustice or a disservice until the next injustice or disservice. Conditional change includes words and phrases such as IF and the NEXT TIME IT HAPPENS. Even though, each and every is the next time. Spare change includes all the FREE things that evade our communities around election time and the holidays. It’s the change known to buy people’s votes, providing turkeys, barbecue plates and sh dinners. Seasonal change only occurs during the Holiday Season, Election Season, Hurricane Season, you get the point. It’s the change that is the opposite of proactivity, 365/24/7. Only some days and months of the year. Chicken change is what we are sold out for, pennies on the dollar.

MODERN DAY UNCLE TOMS
By: Roy Douglas MalonsonWho are some of the modern-day Uncle Toms you may ask? ey are none other than Herschel Walker, Justice Clarence omas, and Kanye West, now known as Ye. Each one of these individuals have been Whitewashed and programmed as puppets to help fuel the White agenda. Not every Black person is for Black people! We need to recognize this notion and take it to the polls. Voting is still one of the ways to get your voice heard.
Herschel Walker is currently the GOP
candidate for Senate in Georgia. He is none other than a longtime liar who tries to replace ignorance with his own fantasies. He has been accused of multiple domestic issues and has been known to display violent behavior. Why is he still allowed to run? He also claimed to be against abortion but has “allegedly” paid a woman to get rid of the child that was his. He also lied about being a police o cer. Again, why is he still allowed to run? Are the “conservatives” so desper-
ate to keep control that they are willing to support a violent person who lies and tries to hide behind mental illness? He clearly has no respect for women, morals, or values.
Ye is another individual who continues to stay in the news. In our latest edition, we proposed the question, do all lives matter? Ye wore a shirt that said White lives matter, which upset many individuals about his intentions and disrespect. In his recent ignorance, Ye made comments regarding George Floyd’s murder and how he believes that Floyd was not killed by Derek Chauvin but by fentanyl use.
Ye is now being sued by Floyd’s family for $250 million dollars for many reasons such as “defamation, harassment, misappropriation, and iniction of emotional distress, according to the attorney on the case. Many will be watching this case closely and how “free speech” will play a role in this case. Ye’s motives, actions, and behaviors are disgraceful and a true example of pure igno-
rance. It’s this type of behavior that impacts the Black race and the image society continues to hold us on. Additionally, he made anti semantic comments that were very hurtful and unnecessary. His twitter account was locked and now, Ye is trying to purchase Parler, which is “a social media site popular with Trump loyalist,” according to National Public Radio. Many people watched Donald Trump get away
with so many o ensive comments that individuals like Ye believe that they can say whatever they want and hide behind “free speech.” Ye, a dedicated Trump support has clearly aligned himself with White conservatives and if this Parler deal goes through, he will have total control of what he wants to be ltered and what he wants to be shown, and this idea of “free speech” will be in question.
Justice Clarence
omas, another Uncle Tom was in the news earlier this year. A er everything that has come out about Justice omas and his wife’s involvement with Trump, Justice omas should have been asked to recuse himself from the case surrounding the capitol riot knowing his wife’s involvement.

WORKING TO FIGHT VOTER SUPPRESSION
By: NNPAA nonpartisan and communitycentered movement reminiscent of the Freedom Riders of the Civil Rights era is on a mission to help Black communities resist and overcome voter suppression during the 2022 midterm election and beyond.
e Young Black Lawyers’ Organizing Coalition – or YBLOC –said suppression and other tactics had threatened African Americans’ political power.
“YBLOC is mobilizing one of the most ambitious voter protection organizing campaigns in history because inclusive democracy hangs in the balance in November,” Abdul Dosunmu, YBLOC’s founder and chief strategist, said during an appearance on the National Newspaper Publishers Association’s live morning news broadcast, Let It Be Known.
“Our intention is to proactively ready Black voters to do what we have always done: ght the barriers of voter suppression and insist on our right to be heard.” e coalition has launched a
“Black Ballots, Black Futures 2002” voter protection and organizing campaign.
Dosunmu isn’t a stranger to politics and mobilizing.
An Obama administration appointee to the U.S. Department of Transportation, Dosunmu served as the department’s chief of staff advisor.
He also worked as a senior associate at Precision Strategies, a digital, data, communications, and campaign management rm founded by three pioneers of President Barack Obama’s 2008 and 2012 campaigns.
A graduate of the University of Chicago, Dosunmu also helped develop strategic communications for progressive advocacy campaigns, foundations, and civic tech startups.
Dosunmu said more than 300 young Black lawyers and law students span Arkansas, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Texas to host voter protection education sessions in partnership
with Black community institutions voters know and trust.
He said the seven-state push would count among the most extensive Black-led voter education efforts to train Black voters to identify and resist voter suppression tactics to ensure their ballots are counted.
“ ese sessions aim to equip an estimated 60,000 Black voters with the information they need to protect their vote and help amplify this message in their communities,” Dosunmu stated. e group has found success.
Earlier this year, YBLOC and a coalition of organizations representing the Black legal community launched “Pass Her the Gavel,” a letter-writing and public engagement campaign that supported a fair confirmation process for Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson.
Brown Jackson earned con rmation to the high court in April.
Additionally, as part of the ongoing grassroots e ort to protect and empower the Black electorate, YBLOC led an amicus brief in a federal lawsuit that challenged Texas’s voter suppression law, Senate Bill 1. e brief helped to outline how Senate Bill 1 harms Black voters and the civic organizations that serve them.
Further, in partnership with the Center for Civic Design, the organization recently conducted a focus group in Dallas to understand
voter suppression laws’ impact on Black voters.
According to YBLOC, the ndings from the focus group reveal that: All participants had experienced di culty voting in the past. is included long wait times, understa ed polling places, a lack of signage to identify polling places, and closed election centers.
Participants indicated that Texas’s State Bill 1 and similar voter suppression bills across the country had impacted Black voters’ trust in the election process. In addition, the focus group participants noted feelings of voter suppression, information deprivation, and concern about the increased criminalization of voter assistants.
Participants expressed an overall lack of information from state and local election o cials. is included information about where and how they could cast their ballot and important election dates/ deadlines.
“It is vital that our voter protection education e orts are community-informed and rooted in the concrete experiences of Black voters,” Dosunmu stated. “ is focus group provided important data on voter suppression laws and tactics impact Black voters and further underscored that our democracy is at a precipice.”
Dosunmu added that YBLOC wants everyone involved in its efforts to ght voter suppression.
“We are calling on all young Black lawyers and law students to join our ght,” he stated.
BREAST CANCER SURVIVOR LATONYA PAYNE
By: Kenneth PayneDid you know that Breast Cancer is one of the top cancers that makes up majority of the population of deaths worldwide?
In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness for the month of October, a local Houstonian Latonya Payne, not only was diagnosed with breast cancer, but lived through it and walked out clean on the other side of life, making her a two-time champ against the deadly cancer.
The battle inside the boxing ring wasn’t an easy fight for her, in fact there have been many days and nights Payne didn’t know if she could last round after round. By keeping God first and having family and friends there to support her through chemo, radiation, and check-ups, this made the boxing ring feel smaller. Payne went on to say, “My strength came from God first and foremost being able to communicate with him and knowing that you will get through this, was the first step to a healthy recovery.”
This make sense because in the darkest moments of a person’s life, who can they really call on besides the one and only God? Prior to being diagnosed, Payne was living her life the best way she could. Payne is the type of
a pioneer, and being resourceful is her life changed as she was diagnosed with
CHRIS HOLLINS needs us to DEFEND DEMOCRACY again.
ber 2021, Payne had received a new diagnosis of breast cancer. Triple negative stage fighting
person that is selfless, kind-hearted, loving, and will help anyone out if she could. Through it all, Payne has been a warrior, a pioneer, and being resourceful is her best attribute. August of 2016 is when her life changed as she was diagnosed with triple negative stage cancer 2b. After first hearing the news, Payne was in a state of shock, and she fought tooth and nails to get herself free from cancer. Making it to the next round in the ring and her back against the ropes, Payne was cancer free. But later in September 2021, Payne had received a new diagnosis of breast cancer. Triple negative stage cancer 1a, and just like that, she found herself in the boxing ring again fighting for her life once more.
With no family history of breast cancer, Payne was even more in a state of shock. “Initially because I wasn’t aware of what to except, I was afraid of the unknown.” Payne also went on to say, “After I got over my first treatment, I just developed anxiety with the fear of recurrence. As breast cancer survivors, that’s something we always have to deal with.” She was powerful to admit her fears but even more powerful to have the ability to face it head on.
Breast cancer is one of the top leading cancers that leads to a high number of deaths because it’s more common for people to get it.
Payne is a walking example of having her back against the ropes and finding the courage to last in the fight round after round. Today, she’s a member of a local support group in Houston that she attends weekly with other survivors. She also attends church and keep her family and friends close to her now that she completely free from cancer.
Payne also encourages women all over to stay positive and get your regular monograms check- ups. Please stay informed at all times because breast cancer can force anyone into the boxing ring.
Chris Hollins the Voting Guy led the historic 2020 elections effort as Harris County Clerk. Chris protected and expanded voting rights for 2.5 million Houston-area voters during the ongoing pandemic.
Today, election deniers and their extreme MAGA supporters are backing a slate of Republicans to take control of our county government. We cannot let that happen.

LOVE YOUR LIFE
By Chelsea Davis-Bibb, Ed.D.e Love Your Life Event at Lakewood church was very upli ing and inspiring. e purpose of the event was to celebrate women and give them a night of worship, fun, and encouragement. With Over 13,000 women in attendance, it was amazing to see a diverse group of women who came from di erent backgrounds and every di erent walk of life.
e event started with worship as Lakewood’s praise team led many upli ing songs that brought many women on their feet worshipping and giving praises to God. You could truly feel the spirit in the room and see the weight that some women have been carrying from everyday life leave them so
they could worship freely.
A er praise and worship, Pastor Victoria Osteen greeted and welcomed everyone to the event and even introduced the special guest that were in attendance which included Jamie Kern Lima and Sarah Jakes Roberts. Lima shared her personal story that many don’t hear about how she turned her business that started in her living room into a billion-dollar company. Her story was very inspiring as she encouraged women to keep following their dreams and when people say no, keep searching for the one yes that you need. She also encouraged women to embrace who they are and to trust “that knowing” when everyone
seems to doubt you. She stated, “No one can tell you you’re not the right t. No one can tell you how big your God size dreams can be.” She also mentioned how fearless she is now regarding rejection and that the rejection is simply God’s protection.” In her speech, she concluded with “Turn down the volume on your self-doubt and turn up the volume on what He says about you and your knowing.”
A er the inspiring speech by Kern Lima, Sarah Jakes Robert
took us to church through her powerful sermon. People were on their feet within the rst minute of her sermon as she spoke with such power and grace.
