Daar is water – ’n Reisigersblik op die Xhariepse gemeenskap in oorgang Published by SUN MeDIA Bloemfontein, this trilingual publication by Lut Teck alternates between Afrikaans, Dutch and English text. Theory from the South – How Euro-America is evolving toward Africa, by well-known anthropologists John and Jean Comaroff, was co-published by SUN MeDIA Stellenbosch as the fifth volume in the STIAS series. The book explores how the Global North seems to be “evolving southward”. The authors look at a range of familiar themes – such as democracy, law, labour, liberalism and multiculturalism – asking how the North might understand these things anew with theory developed in the South. The book was originally published by Paradigm Publishers, Colorado.

SUN MeDIA Bloemfontein published South African Language Rights Monitor 2010 (Johan Lubbe and Theodorus du Plessis). This is the ninth report in the South African Language Rights Monitor Project which was initiated in 2002 by the Pan-South African Language Board in collaboration with the Unit for Language Management of the University of the Free State. Like previous editions, it is an annual report on language matters in South Africa, which received coverage in the English and Afrikaans mainstream media during the year under review.
