It is a challenge to start something you never do, but believing in yourself can give more strengths and power to go far. It is all about daily realties. Kill the fear and set realistic goals and you shall see yourselves making like a champion. You may be born poor, but you are not destined to remain poor, you may have been a parental mistake; but you are not a divine mistake. If we can all stop the aspect of Accusing, blaming, complaining which I called the ABC syndrome and strive hard to be solution orientated then we shall achieve our goals in life. NEWS Meet Tata Kwawi Mbinglo: The Youngest Cameroonian Politician striving for Youth Empowerment and Change in Cameroon.

WHY MOKOLO MARKET YAOUNDE?

C

ameroon has arrested hundreds of people who allegedly attacked police stations in the capital Yaounde to protest human rights abuses, brutality and extortion. Huge stashes of locally made guns and explosives have been seized as the arrests continue. Martin Claude Forsua, the most senior police official in Cameroon's center region, where YaoundĂŠ is located, said the approximately 500 youths already in police custody were arrested following tips from some residents of the capital city and information from intelligence services. Forsua said police have been benefiting from the assistance of the population that has been denouncing suspects. He said it is intolerable to allow such a thing in a capital city like YaoundĂŠ and they will arrest all the youths who want to terrorize the city's residents. Most of the youths were arrested in night raids on their homes and street corners in their neighborhoods. Police say at least 100 of those detained have no identification documents.

T

ata Kwawi Mbinglo is a Cameroonian from Ndu Sub Division, North West region of Cameroon. He was born on 10th June 1987. Mr.Tata graduated from the University of Buea with a second class degree in S o c i o l o g y a n d Anthropology and a diploma in political science. It should be noted that Tata demonstrated a high degree of leadership right from his secondary school days as a school prefect, he continued in the university as: -President, University of Buea Sociology and Anthropology network.2007 -President, Faculty of Social and Management Science students Association.2008 - P r e s i d e n t Wi m b u m S t u d e n t s U n i o n , B u e a Branch(Wisu)2008 -President University of Buea students Union (UBSU) 2009. Mr. Tata Kwawi Mbinglo has been very active and committed in issues related to community development, Youth activism and change in Cameroon. He has worked with two civil society organisations, Torch Bearer Foundation for Missions and Reconciliation and Martin Luther King Junior Memorial Foundation. Tata kwawi has been promoting youth empowerment programs through his organization known as Cameroon pace setters Association which he founded in 2014.They have been working to ensure youth empowerment and social Justice in Cameroon. Tata Kwawi is noted to have been the brain behind the Presidential grants offered yearly in Cameroon by the head of state after which he jointly wrote an appeal to the head of state in 2008 alongside the then UBSU chairman Mr. Array Martin. The head of state granted their appeal by awarding meritorious students each year in all state universities. Tata Kwawi Mbinglo through his community engagements in Charity, poverty alleviation and community building has received two national awards from the Cameroon National Youth Council and The Eye News paper as Young Servant Leader of the Year 2015. It is also noted that Tata has fought tirelessly for his community Fuh to have electricity through a solar panel project he initiated which is at the level of Fundraising. It was thanks to this project and his continues struggle that Fuh was included in the Electricity distribution by the AD bank and the Government of Cameroon. Tata Kwawi has continually challenged the Cameroon Government on state policies that affects the well being of the citizens and the aging state officials who do not want to retire. We now understand why the youths of Donga Mantung are persistently making calls on him to represent the people at the Cameroon Parliament. Tata Kwawi who is 28 years is courageous and focused and has a great vision for his people. He is a role model to many Youths of Cameroon who look up to him as a source of Inspiration. The whole nation awaits his declaration as to the calls of the Youths for the race to Parliament. We shall keep you updated with more developments. Mr Tata Kwawi Mbinglo Unveils community projects ahead of 2017. Education, sports and Community development. Stay tuned....

Rights violations alleged. Trader Aristide Biloa, 40, whose younger brother was arrested, said more than 30 soldiers stormed and ransacked their Mokolo home on the night of January 9 without authorization. Biloa said the

arrests have been arbitrary and in violation of human rights. He said proper investigations should have been carried out to determine who the leaders of the group are before any arrests were made. University of Yaounde law student Josue Penda said arresting the suspects will not solve what he calls an endemic problem in a country that has been suffering from Boko Haram terrorism threats. He said investigations should be conducted to see if the Boko Haram is extending its activities from Cameroon's northern border with Nigeria to the capital Yaounde. Penda said the fact that some residents of Yaounde now keep guns in their houses means the police department is a corrupt accomplice and is not doing its job. He said the government should investigate the origin of the weapons. The arrests follow last Thursday's attacks by hundreds of disgruntled and armed Cameroonian young people on police stations in Mokolo, a popular market in Yaounde. The youths said they were against police brutality, extortion and other human rights abuses, but the police said the youths were looking for revenge after the death of a popular suspect who died in a shootout with the police.

NEWS Far North: Suicide Bomber Kills on the run. Sources have stated that this is the first time the Marshal At Least 10 has taken the life of a colleague. Mvogo shot a second rank police inspector when he was assigned to Bogo, a few kilometers from Maroua. An act which led to his transfer to Maroua.

About 200 Trucks Stranded At Central African Republic Border

S

ome 200 trucks carrying goods have been stranded for several days in Garoua-Boulai city east of Cameroon along the border with the Central African Republic. The blockade is attributed to a state of insecurity despite the deployment of troops under the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in the volatile Central African Republic (MINUSMA). To prevent potential looters preying on their cargoes, truck drivers had demanded some security measures, prompting the Cameroonian and the Central African Republic authorities to decide on a timeline for the delivery of goods into CAR. The new schedule provides that from now on, trucks bound for the border will benefit from armed escorts on the Thursday and Saturday of every week. According to the MINUSMA, this schedule is to better ensure the safety and security of cargoes since conducting armed escort daily like in the past exposed some lapses in the security apparatus. It also explained that for more efficiency, the number of drivers per trip should not exceed 150 to allow for optimum security all the way to the CAR capital Bangui. Consequently, these new measures have been responsible for nearly 200 trucks laden with goods being stranded at the border waiting for the next security convoy scheduled for Thursday. As a country without a coastline, the Central African Republic uses the port of Douala in Cameroon to import and export goods, accounting for more than 80

Drunk Gendarme In Maroua Kills Soldier At A Drinking Spot

A

Marshal by named Mvogo Francis has shot, in cold blood, Chief Officer Jérôme Bailassem at the entrance of a drinking spot in Toupouri in Maroua, the capital of the Far North region. Le Jour on January 12, 2016, reported that the incident occurred two days ago. According to the story of our colleague, "The Marshal, visibly drunk came to the door of a drinking establishment. He wanted to go in. But it was forbidden for bar owners to open their bars beyond 9:00 pm in the region. But regulars often collide with merchants to drink in peace keeping doors closed. Francis Mvogo knew that so he tried to enter. He quickly got angry and began to band the door. No one opened the door. He continued his pounding and woke the neighbors up.” Among the neighbors, was Chief Officer Jérôme Mbailassem who asked his fellow colleague who was in a varied attire to present himself. “For reasons that were specific to him, the marshal refused to present himself. In the chaos that followed, he took out his service weapon and pointed it at Jerome. After several threats, he fired several times at close range at Jerome Bailassem, and the later fell," The witnesses at the scene rushed to try to save Jerome. Unfortunately, he died before reaching the hospital. “Taking advantage of the confusion that his act had caused, Francis Mvogo managed to escape,” said the editor of the article who informed that “The police is actively searching for Marshal Francis Mvogo,” who is

suicide attack on a mosque in Cameroon has killed 12 people. The attack occurred during morning prayers at the mosque in the village of Kouyape. On Wednesday, security forces in Cameroon reported that 12 people had been killed after a suicide bomber detonated an explosive device at a mosque. “The suicide bomber was praying with the others,” a source told the AFP news agency. Eleven people were killed at the scene, while a twelfth succumbed shortly after to injuries sustained in the blast. No one has claimed responsibility for the attacks, but suspicion is likely to fall on Boko Haram. The group is based in Nigeria, and Kouyape

the King of Binka village said that the reason for the creation of the Lord Jesus Christ Church is to blend Christianity with tradition. “I will be able to know which aspects of tradition are bad and which ones are good. It will enable us to do away with the obnoxious part of tradition and keep the good ones”, he emphasized. Created some few months ago, members of the Lord Jesus Christ Church Binka, are mostly the wives of the fon, his children, family members and friend. The church is located in the palace. The Green House of the Binka palace, as observed has been transformed into a church. While traditionalists have frowned at Fon Benchep Adamu's decision to create a religious outfit within a traditional setup, popular opinion in Donga Mantung Division is upholding his intention as innovative given that of late there have been several clashes between tradition and some denominations. Those who cherish tradition and Christianity have seen the Lord Jesus Christ Church as a savior, especially in Mbum land. Though the congregation is still small, sources linked to the Binka palace hinted this reporter that new members keep trooping in every Sunday. It should be noted that King Benchep is a trained journalist of the University of Buea. Cyril Fonjong

A TRADITIONAL RULER FORMS HIS OWN CHURCH, GET THE NAME AND WHY? HRH King Benchep Adamu Nfor cum King of Binka village, in Donga Mantung Division of the North West Region has created his own church. The church which he said has been named Lord Jesus Christ Church is the first of its kind in the North West Region of Cameroon to be created by a traditional. When quizzed by this reporter whether he will be able to manage church activities and at the same time pour libations, King Benchep said that henceforth all libations in his palace are poured in the name of Jesus Christ and not in the name of the ancestors as had been the case before now. INTERVIEW

WHO IS HE, GABILA FRANKLIN NEBA

Sacré Janvier !!!

L

JOVI WARNS STANLEY ENOW AGAIN

O

n January 1, 2016, Jovi aka Boko God released his New EP Puta Madre. In the third single titled Bend Down Work, Jovi took Stanley Enow to the 'cleaners and back'. According to Jovi, Stanley Enow has only one hit song which is Hein Pere. Boko God goes on by indicating that the beats from Hein Pere aren't Stanley Enow's.

“Ya only hit you tif na different man yi beat, And after that, all the rest just be na shit, If na say you buy the beat show we receipt, But If receipt no dey that one na tif”

Jovi goes on by making reference to Stanley Enow's interview with Pulse TV Nigeria where he spoke about his rivalry with Jovi. He warns him to stop mentioning his name or his will punish him the Boko God way. Will Stanley Enow ignore Jovi or fire back in his new song? Personally, I think these two should cut it off! It is getting boring. A collabo would be more interesting. AfricaWorldnews Cameroon

VITALIS OTIA SPEAKS and Movie Director said there is need for the sector to be projected and Cameroonians encouraged to consuming their own movies. “Cameroonians consume American and Nigerian movies every day rather than Cameroonian movies. There should be a control mechanism by Government to enable Cameroonians consumes their own movies,” he proposed. To Otia, CRTV can easily make this possible if they valourise and incorporate more Cameroonian movies in their programmes. He further decried the lack of production means and inadequate marketing strategies that further hinder the sector.“ There are some persons willing to help the sector, but we still need others who can enable us partner with other wellestablished film industries in the world so that we can exchange ideas and visits as well as partner in coproduction,” he stated. The Board Chair who has produced several home movies including My Gallery, Rose on the Grave, Bad Angel amongst others, said the sector is promising but needs assistance from partners to accelerate it.He boasted that Cameroon film industry has interesting movies with enriching moral lessons to be learnt. “Cameroon is, first of all, a diversified society and so the films that we have produced are far different from the American and Nigerian. This is because, in American movies, you must see guns, destruction and ammunition. When you watch Nigerian films, you must experience witchcraft, bad mothers-in-law and other odd stories. But Cameroonian movies are very diversified and interesting. So even in the film industry, Cameroon is world immature,” he said.He noted that the presence of the Kuwait film industry in Cameroon and the shooting of several foreign movies in Cameron further expose Cameroon's diversified nature and prospects of growth if proper investments are done in the sector. tia has featured in many home movies and TV series. The acting career of the actor cum medic started back to his early days at the Bishop Rogan Minor Seminary, where he acted drama and other plays both in and out of campus. On how he manages his medical profession and entertainment, he said his Medical Director is most understanding and gives me the latitude to do something for the movie industry. “I worked with the Yaoundé I University at the Faculty of Medicine. Yes, the film industry is taking most of my time. But I am doing my possible best though it is not easy to ensure that my productivity both at the medical domain and the movie world is the same,” he stated. “The major challenge we are facing is the slow pace at which Government is handling issues related to the film industry. This is a baby industry that needs a lot of corporate projection and support from the Government and other established industries. The Government needs to highlight the importance of the industry for the business class to be interested in sponsoring the sector.” Here are some worries expressed by the Board Chair of the Cameroonian Film Industry, Vitalis Otia.
