Jose Dante S. Santiago Junior Network Engineer Office of Information Technology University of Guam
Jose Dante S. Santiago was born and raised on the neighboring island of Saipan. He graduated from Marianas High School in 2009 and obtained an associate degree in Liberal Arts from Northern Marianas College before moving to Guam in 2011 where he completed his bachelor’s degree in computer science at the University of Guam.

Prior to graduating from the University of Guam, Jose had already begun his employment with the university under the Federal Work Study program at the UOG Computer Center as a Lab Aide where he was able to engage the hands on skills he was learning in the classroom. By the time Jose graduated in 2014 he was already hired as a full-time employee as an IT Support Technician. Immediately after graduation, Jose was hired as a Jr. Computer Operator. After two years, Jose was hired into his now current position as a Jr. Network Engineer at the University of Guam. As of 2020, Jose has worked for the University of Guam for 8 years.
As a Network Engineer. Jose manages and maintains the connectivity for the campus network including wireless and cabled systems. Jose also designs network topologies for core servers, VOIP systems, backbone connections, including fiber and satellite frequencies.
As part of his position as a network engineer Jose often collaborates with other network operators around the globe where he shares his ideas and experiences working at the University of Guam.
As a Network Engineer Jose has been involved several large community impacting projects such as the Guam EPSCoR project, the Guam Open Research & Education eXchange (GOREX), and the Mariana Islands Internet eXchange (MARIIX). Jose is also supporting the newly launched esports program at the University of Guam.
Jose also manages a part time job as the Network Administrator for Ladera Tower for the past 5 years. In 2017 Jose started his own IT consulting business, where he focuses on providing affordable and personalized IT support for small business on Guam.
Jose also recently launched simplychante.com, a small online brand and podcast, with a partner.
When he is not working on IT Jose enjoys skateboarding, auto-crossing, and playing Pokémon.
