A DAY OF POSITIVITY Reflection
My day of positivity wasn't planned but something happened on that particular day that inspired me to lead the rest of the day with a ridiculous amount of positivity. I walked into my Management 291 class and sat down next to my buddy Chris. The conversation we had went something like this: Chris: So how're you feeling? Me: (Somewhat puzzled) Ermm, good man. You? Me: (Realizing why everyone was so quiet and reading their notes) Oh oh you mean for the exam? Chris: Yeah Me: Like the exam....today. (*shrugging) Yeah nah I'm feeling good Chris: *gives me an unconvinced look and goes back to furiously skimming quizlet. I just folded my hands and sat there until the professor passed out the exam I had clearly forgotten about. Never in my school career had I forgotten or missed an exam until that point. I remember shrugging before opening to the first question. I could've been mad and pissed off for the next five hours but I decided that shit happens and life moves on. I was ready to make that exam my b****. SO, that's the story of how my day of positivity began. I think I actually preferred this way instead of marking it on my calendar because it felt real. The fact that I had a clear choice in a negative situation and chose to be positive had a much larger impact on me than if I had scheduled it. I recall after the exam sending a note to my friend group, "totally forgot about the exam in MGT 291 today....lol....". When I got to my friends' house I bounced in with a smile of my face and asked who wanted to get food. They all looked at me and said "why are you so happy, didn't you just fail an exam?" to which I replied "Maybe. Maybe not. So who wants food?". The rest of the day was nothing spectacularly out of the ordinary but that's not the point of this exercise. The point is that a positive mindset can impact any situation big or small and that your positivity will affect other people (even if it's just for a brief moment with one person).
I got an A- on that exam.
