Special study
How special study will support my project?
I chose 3D modeling as my special study, because my Final Major Project is about furniture. I want to learn how to use 3D software for creating different pieces of furniture from photographic reference. It will be very useful for me for making furniture catalogues and advertisements. I am going to look what softwares are the most suitable for it and I will watch tutorials and start learning. I changed my Final Major Project to beauty company rebranding. After many Cinema 4D tutorials I started my reasearch about packaging, layouts, different paper and materials. I am interested in good quality, luxurious and expensive packages. Also I have to find manufacturers who would be able to do my desired packaging for Greta’s beauty industry
3D modeling I decided to use Cinema 4D, because it has loads of functions, which I need. I can also do animations with this program and it has loads of different effects, lighnining, material.
My first attempt of building 3d model

Renders I started building mine cart tunel with C4D. Greyscalegorilla has full set tutorials and each takes about one hour. During this turial I learnt how to light, model, animate, add dynamics and render my work. All the skills I learnt in this project I can use for making furniture, interior design or anything else.
Creating soft body dynamic strings with C4D I found another tutorial, which was very interesting for me and I wanted to try it as well. In this tutorial I will learn all about the Soft Body Dynamics ‘Made of Clones’ option and how I can use it and the Mograph Module to create dynamic strings.
Making a chair After all these tutorials I decided to make 3D model of the chair. I am happy with my result, because I did not know how to use C4D at all and I had to start from the very beginning.
Packaging I changed my Final Major Project topic from Furniture store to Make up rebranding project. That is the main reason why I started looking at packaging and different ideas. I found some books in library with good examples and templates - New Packaging design by Kirkparick and Special Packaging by Pepin Van Joren.

Packaging research
I been collecting famous brand’s packages, which looks luxurious and expensive. It helped me to understand what paper I should use for packaging. Quality of the paper and colour scheme is very important for creating a luxurious packaging. Golden/silver foil and embossed print gives extra value as well.
Dye sublimation
I printed Greta’s logo on t-shirts. I used dye sublimation printing technique. It is very important to use right material for the best results. The best result is achieved with synthetic material.

Contacting printing companies I ordered some sample packages for home made glitter. I received them without logo, but I could check the quality
