Reading I’ve been to Thailand more times than I can count. People often ask me why I return to places I’ve already visited instead of exploring somewhere new. Well, that’s an easy answer—it’s because I feel attached to them. I feel at home when I’m visiting them. Why do I love Thailand so much? Well, what I like about Thailand are the food and the weather. Most of the Thai food in Thailand are so delicious and taste better than anywhere else in the world. There’s more variety and more flavors. Your mouth dances with flavor when you eat here. I always order “mai pet,” which means “not spicy,” because I do not like spicy food. All over the streets of Thailand, outdoor stalls serve up the cheapest and best Thai meals you can find. And no matter what time of the day it is, there’s always food available somewhere. Besides the delicious food, I also like the warm weather there. I love the sun a lot and I love the heat. It’s always hot and humid in Thailand Because of that; I can always wear a t-shirt and shorts whenever I want. I can go to the beach also to see the beautiful view. I love the beaches around Thailand, like Ko Chang, Ko Kood, Surin Island, Ko Adang, and Ko Lanta. I can sit on the sand and go for a swim for hours upon end. I cannot wait for the next trip to Thailand. Adapted from www.nomadicmatt.com
Exercise Answer the following questions based on the article! a. What are the two things that the writer likes about Thailand? b. Why does the writer like those things? c. Is there anything that the writes dislikes? d. Name the beaches that the writer loves! e. After reading the passage above, do you feel interested to visit Thailand? Why?

Well, I hope you are doing well now. It’s winter now in San Francisco. I like winter because I can play with snow outside. I love making snowman. Although I like winter, I don’t like staying outside for too long because it is too cold. I don’t like to wear thick clothes and jackets because they are too heavy. During winter, I love to eat cream soup. There are usually chicken and corn in my cream soup. I don’t like vegetable, especially green peas. My mother usually cooks the cream soup and I enjoy it so much. I heard that in Indonesia there is no winter, am I right? Is there anything you want to do in winter? May be you should come and visit San Francisco one day. Love,
