“P eople usually think of ceramics as pottery, with a wheel, and of sculpture as wood and metal. That is part of it – a very important part – but it’s just a part, and there’s a lot more going on in ceramics. This show will hopefully open people’s minds and show them more possibilities.”

MISTY GAMBLE Gamble is an assistant professor of 3-D Art at West Texas A&M University. Gamble is the recipient of a number of awards, fellowships and grants from The Martin Wong Foundation, National Council on Education for Ceramic Arts, the Ellice T. Johnston Foundation, Ruth and Harold Chenven Foundation, Marin Community Foundation, Windgate Foundation, Howard Kottler Fellowship, Byrdcliffe Fellowship, Ansley Park Fellowship, KCAI Faculty Development Grant, Lighton International Artists Exchange Program Grant and Ceramics Monthly Emerging Artist Award. She is the co-founder of Studio Nong: International Sculpture Collective & Residency Program. Gamble’s show, “Accoutrement and Consumption,” is on view through March 13 at WTAMU.
