JUAN PABLO DE VILMORIN
Juan Pablo de Vilmorin Guerrero is a self-taught digital artist from Mexico. De Vilmorin Guerrero documents quiet moments of daily life–those we experience or observe every day, yet we do not fully appreciate. The scenes are set in tropical environments reminiscent of Cuernavaca, Mexico, where he lives, but that could have equally occurred anywhere in Latin America or the Caribbean. At times sourced from direct observation, at times imagined, de Vilmorin Guerrero offers quaint vistas of Mexican pueblos at nighttime, men or women carrying fruit through lush vegetation, colorful interiors overlooking gardens inhabited by cats. Against a backdrop of turquoise blue water, palm trees, or mountains, we witness the quiet unfolding of ordinary living. “My work attempts to freeze an image in our daily life to capture a moment or observe what we cannot see out of distraction,” de Vilmorin Guerrero says. “The simplest things are the most beautiful ones.”
JUAN PABLO DE VILMORIN ONAll my life I have had the desire to paint, but being a young father I always left it for another moment, that moment came 4 years ago when I started playing painting on my cell phone and I was amazed with the technique of digital art because it gave me the opportunity to paint anywhere and anytime, this led me to acquire more professional equipment and continue painting one work after another, discovering myself, and looking for different techniques, taking online courses and learning in a self-taught way. I really like digital art because it gives me the ease of being able to capture my work in different materials, such as canvas, acrylic, and in different formats. I make digital paintings that depict moments of ordinary life; those which we experience every day, yet don’t fully appreciate. The scenes are either literal interpretations of my surroundings in Cuernavaca, Mexico, or imaginary visions of people, cities, nature, or animals in tropical environments. I believe beauty lies in the simple everyday and I want to celebrate it in my work. For inquiries, sales@agora-gallery.com
