LISA MOOSMANN

German artist Lisa Moosmann has always been creative. Even as a little girl, she could most often be found at her school’s craft table. Her artistic journey evolved into teaching and creating her own abstract compositions. Moosmann enjoys leading children’s art classes, channeling her childhood love for art and continued pursuit of it to inspire a new generation of artists. She also believes in the therapeutic properties of art, as she has been attending art therapy trainings since April 2018. The endless possibilities of artistic expression impress Moosmann, and she aims to explore as many possibilities as she can via abstraction.
Moosmann has been exhibiting her work in various German cities since 2019 and is now expanding her career into the United States. Rather than commenting on external issues, her work reflects the inner soul and its immense depth. Each canvas serves as a mirror for the viewer, enabling them to dig deeper into their own psyche. Moosmann aims for her paintings to be understood internationally, as she values the universal abilities of art. She leaves her abstract, acrylic-oncanvas creations open to many interpretations, masterfully cultivating her own genre of calculated ambiguity. To further this, she leaves her paintings untitled, allowing her viewers to project their own meaning onto each brushstroke.
LISA MOOSMANN ONI love to paint abstract paintings using a variety of media, including acrylics, modeling paste, and found objects. I do not use a brush. I paint with my hands or a palette knife, mixing the colors directly on the canvas. I feel a special connection with colors. As an art therapy trainee, each one carries a different meaning for me. Red is a symbol of life, while black is connected with darker moods. I enjoy listening to music while I paint and working on several pieces at the same time.
I like to keep my works untitled so that the viewers can access their own inner world without any restrictions dictated by the written word. I paint intuitively; I follow my heart and let my emotions guide me and speak for me. Each canvas is unique, a snapshot of my inner self. Each painting is a journey through the depth of my soul; a journey that isn’t only mine, but rather belongs to each viewer, like a door opening onto each person’s magical place; a door through their heart.
