DUOTOUR SERIES
REVOLVING DOOR TECHNICAL MANUAL
AGP Door Systems Pty Limited
OUTLINE
With a Duotour door, you truly have the best of both worlds, as it gives you the unique luxury of changing your door depending on your situation. At the turn of a key you can choose between a revolving door and automatic sliding door. The Duotour is a special two wing revolving door which provides spacious compartment areas to enable large numbers of people to use the door, whilst also making the door easier to use for people with shopping or lugguage trolleys, for courier deliveries, elderly people and wheelchair users. It does all of this whilst still providing the environment benefits, and foyer comfort levels, of an airlocked entrance. However, as many building managers only want the airlock benefits of a revolving door during the very hot and very cold windy times of the year, it’s ability to convert to an automatic sliding door entrance sets this door apart from the competition. During more pleasant weather the Duotour can be used as a full time sliding door entry, as it boasts the same quality and features as those operators used in dedicated automatic sliding door systems.
Automatic Revolving Door
A special feature of the Duotour is the triangluar showcases at each end of the rotating door set. These showcases can be used for floral arrangements, for product displays or even as revenue generating advertising space. As standard are a full range of infrared and contact safety sensors to prevent the door from hitting an obstruction, as well as UPS battery backup to ensure continual operation during a power failure and to enable the door to convert to an alternate emergency egress route, or to provide smoke ventilation to assist in meeting the building’s fire service requirements. The Duotour is an ideal main entrance door in a large number of commercial and institutional applications, in particular shopping centres, airports, sporting clubs and hospitals.

SLIDING DOOR SET
The AGP Duotour-AS revolving door includes an integrated automatic sliding door in the central carousel to effectively combine two entrance technologies in the one door. Twin showcases are included on each side to of the carousel that can be used for displays. The revolving door mode is used for optimum energy conservation in maintaining the air temperature inside the building particularly in bad weather conditions that can include high winds, hot or cold temperature extremes and external traffic noise. The sliding door mode may be preferred in pleasant weather conditions, for high volumes of traffic, or for moving of large objects through the entrance.

The Duotour-AS is particularly well suited for emergency egress in case of fire where the door will rotate to the park position and automatically open the automatic liding doors. UPS battery backup within the door will allow the door to function even in the case of a total power failure.

COLLAPSIBLE DOOR SET
The AGP Duotour-AC revolving door is a spacious two wing revolving door with a manually collapsible door set in the centre carousel. The centre doors between the two showcases can be manually broken out to create a more spacious clear passage than the AC model (please refer to dimension on page 3). In normal use the centre breakout doors are held in position by electro-magnetic locking mechanisms which ensure the swing doors cannot be released accidentally, even in heavy wind conditions. The doors will release in the event of activation of the fire alarm, a power failure or when the emergency button is pushed. Once released

the doors can easily be opened by hand and dampers ensure that the movement is controlled to avoid anyone passing through the door from being hit by one of the door wings. This model is ideal for situations where bulky goods or even motor vehicles are needed to be brought into the building through the door entrance.

Unlike conventional revolving doors, where the lack of centre column means that a totally clear opening is provided. This facility can also be used to provide automatic venting for smoke clearance where required. With the UPS fitted, emergency egress is still possible in the event of mains power failure.
