The waterfront facade of this exclusive apartment building overlooking Sydney Harbour is dominated by AGP motorised lift-up aluminium louvres. This system allows apartment users to adjust not only the pitch of the louvres, to block out the glare from the morning sun and provide privacy, but also lift up the panels to provide ubobstructed views and natural ventilation to the balcony spaces.

This concept of a metal louvre system was devised to meet heritage council requirements whilst meeting practical requirements such as maximising views and sun control without compromising privacy or cross ventilation. The top portion of the faรงade of each apartment can be pivoted to a 90ยบ degree angle to provide a horizontal sun shade, while the individual louvre blades can be electronically adjusted to control light and privacy.

Situated above the building’s sloping glass roof, over 7 lineal kilometres of elliptical aluminium louvre blades are fully motorised to enable lighting conditions to be adjusted to suit the time of day. To provide convenient access for cleaning and servicing the glass roof and louvres, AGP also designed and constructed the motorised service gantries that span the entire 43 degree sloping roof to provide convenient access for cleaning and servicing the glass roof and louvres.
