The Bond Apartments Situated in a prominent position at 38 Hickson Road looking out over Darling Harbour, The Bond Apartments were designed by PTW Architects to create a distinctive 11 storey apartment building that responds to the urban design and heritage opportunities from the historic site. AGP Slimline Shutters in various configurations were used as a feature for the Western facade of the building. The shutters provide practical benefits to the buildings occupants, including privacy, noise reduction and protection from the late afternoon sun.

Featuring adjustable elliptical aluminium blades in a framing system on a sliding track, ultimate flexibility and usability is achieved to provide optimum comfort regardless of the external conditions.

Custom designed for any application Each panel is supported by an overhead sliding track featuring high quality four wheeled rollers for consistently smooth and quiet operation. This track can be easily fixed to steel brackets or concrete slabs without any visible fixings. A specially designed lock mechanism within this track can hold the first panel in place, with minimal pressure required to release it. Guide rollers run effortlessly along the bottom track for safety and security. With multiple tracks a clip-in extrusion is used to fill the gap between the inside and outside tracks. For greater storage versatility when the shutters are not required, a number of stackaway options are available to enable the panels to be moved into a cupboard or holding bay, to open up the entire balcony space.

Sliding System To provide privacy when required, shade from the glare of the sun and minimise heat build up, the AGP Slimline Shutter series is the perfect solution. The system comprises aluminium elliptical louvre blades contained within an aluminium framing system that incorporates the linkage rods to ensure an elegant and high quality system is achieved with no external control rods disrupting its appearance. The 55 series (pictured) provides 55mm wide louvre blades that are contained within the framing system for a truly compact design. All blades can be adjusted at once by simply turning one blade by hand. For a more open shutter design 115mm louvre blades can also be provided within the same framing system. Available in anodised or powdercoat finish, the system can be custom designed and built for each individual project. All panels are assembled in AGP’s factory for simple and efficient site installation by qualified AGP tradesmen.

Bi-folding System When Slimline Shutters are required in areas lacking the space for a sliding system, bi-folding panels is the answer. With the first panel fixed as a pivot panel, the remaining panels are linked together with the sliding track used to effortlessly guide the panels to the open or closed positions. With the 55mm louvre blade contained entirely within the framing system, the panels can be opened fully for minimal sight interruption. Drops bolts secure the leading panel into the floor and can be locked for maximum security. The AGP Slimline 55 and Slimline 115 shutter systems are designed for high wind loads and each panel can be built up to a maximum size of 1200mm in width and 3200mm in height. AGP will provide engineering assessment and certification for each application requiring special sizes and extreme wind loads. The AGP Slimline Shutters can be supplied as factory assembled finished panels or supplied in kit form for assembly by an authorised AGP trained agent.
