Sustainability and environment Los Fiordos has achieved ASC certification (Aquaculture Stewardship Council) on eleven of its farm centers (33% of centers) within the last year. This high commitment to sustainability makes us the Chilean company with the highest number of certified centers. The plan is to have 100% of production ASC certified by the end of 2016, and continue our commitment to the environment and the standards of this certification. The ASC certification was a major pillar within Los Fiordos and our agreement with the WWF (World Wildlife Fund for Nature). Established in the 2015 Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), this has been a never seen agreement, making it the first in the history of salmon production in Chile. Los Fiordos plants are also BAP 4 stars (Best Aquaculture Practices) certified for responsible aquaculture. This means the company applies practices that minimize environmental impacts, respect workers’ rights and produce wholesome products.

Los Fiordos established in 1989 is owned by AGROSUPER holding and is one of the top salmon producers in Chile.
South America
The company owns and manages state-of-the-art hatcheries, which produce 100% of the Atlantic, Coho and Trout salmon smolts that, upon reaching 40 to 60 grams, are shipped to the salt waters farming centers. The processing plant started its operations in November 2001, becoming the biggest and most modern Salmon Processing Plant in Chile, with a capacity of 130.000 MT of salmon per year. Los Fiordos production is 100% LIVE HARVESTED, processed in pre-rigor mortis, bringing the very best quality and freshness to the Super Salmon products from life to packaging in less than 2 hours for fresh and less than 4 hours for frozen.
