About us We are the main animal protein producer in Chile, with more than 60 years of experience in the country, and over 25 in the global market. We are a vertically integrated company, involved from the beginning to the end of the production chain. We have our own fields, feed mills, breeding farms, growing houses and processing plants. We also have our own distribution and sale centers for pork, salmon, turkey and chicken meat, as well as for processed products. We are proud of our more than 16,000 workers and 10,000 external collaborators, which make us a driving force for growth and development in Chile. Our growth has been achieved through the organic development of our operations, which comply with the highest quality and production standards in every step of the way. Commitment to environmental management The use of new technologies has allowed us to efficiently make use of the available natural resources, enabling us this way to protect the environment's biodiversity while also caring for the welfare of the community.
Odor monitoring and diagnostics: We have 7 activated sludge treatment plants (slurry), 7 biodigesters and 4 worm biofilters, along with Canadian electronic noses performing real-time odor emissions monitoring in 5 of our production facilities.
Committed to animal welfare: Agrosuper's animal welfare policy seeks to provide our animals with the best possible conditions, through these 5 pillars: - Free access to food and water sources. - Clean, heated and thermally controlled spaces. - Encouragement of normal animal behavior in each stage of their development. - Providing a tension-free environment. - Protecting our animals through biosecurity.
Environmental Management in salmon farming: Since 2014, our salmon farming centers have ASC or Aquaculture Stewardship Council certification. These are standards set up by the WWF environmental organization. In order to reduce the use of pharmaceuticals, Los Fiordos inoculates fish during the production process, with vaccines that help them strengthen their immune systems. If pharmaceuticals are indeed needed, then only medication that has been previously approved by the World Health Organization (WHO) is administered.
Reducing GHG emissions We also keep a strict control of greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) by making investments that have allowed us to transform into the first agro-industrial company in the world to ever reduce GHG emissions following the Kyoto protocol. 4
