April 14, 2014 Her Majesty The Queen of the Netherlands Your Majesty, My name is AgusNna Casas Sere-‐Leguizamon, and I am a LaNn American arNst currently living in Miami. Your dear brother, Juan Zorreguieta, is a friend of mine from Buenos Aires, and he recommended that I write you directly to describe a very special piece of art I made and that included in my most recent show, Universal Icons: Women in Power, in Miami. Thus, it is with the highest admiraNon that I am giWing you with the very ﬁrst ediNon print. I included your portrait in my exhibiNon for a variety of reasons, including my special connecNon to the Netherlands and ArgenNna. During my childhood, my father, Gonzalo Casas Leguizamon served as General Consul of Uruguay in the Netherlands and then later as Special RepresentaNve to the OPCW in the Hague. While I am of ArgenNne origins and was raised in Uruguay and Germany, I spent nearly every summer with my father and my ArgenNne grandmother, Sara Leguizamon Pondal, in the Netherlands. In fact, when Your Majesty began her relaNonship with King of Holland, my grandmother would frequently tell my father and me with great pride “one day Europe will have a Queen from AgrenNna!” She would be so very proud today. But it was not just my special connecNon to the Netherlands that compelled me to include Your Majesty’s portrait in my collecNon. As the ﬁrst LaNn American Queen of Europe you are an inspiraNon to me and countless other LaNn American young women leaders. Your grace and beauty are without equal and your work in educaNon for United NaNons is indispensible. It is for these reasons that I included you in Universal Icons: Women in Power. It is my honor to present you this special giW. I wish you many years of health and happiness.

AGUSTINA CASAS SERE LEGUIZAMON Is a widely recognized artist and fashion designer with international scope and experience. She has lived, worked, and exhibited from Buenos Aires to Paris. She is the grandaughter of famous Latin-American sculptor Gonzalo Leguizamon Pondal, and she continues his legacy as an internationally recognized artist. She has been portrayed by Yaacov Agam (age 13) and Kenzo Takada (age 23). TIMELINE 1984 – Born in Uruguay, Montevideo 1985 -2006 – Raised in Germany, the Netherlands, France, Italy and Argentina. 2009 – Contemporary Art Exhibition, Castagnino Roldan Gallery, Buenos Aires, Argentina. 2009 – Assistant Art Director and Curator with Japanese fashion designer Kenzo Takada. Successful projects at Lordi Gallery of Contemporary Art in Buenos Aires, Argentina and Gallery Studio 55 on Champs Elysees in Paris, France 2010 – She studied Bachelor of Art, Fashion Design. Universidad de Palermo, Buenos Aires, Argentina 2010 – Selected for Google’s Project for New Media. New York, New York 2011 – Founded the fashion brand Pondal. Made a co-branding with Artist Claudio Roncoli 2012 – “Ensueños Rioplatenses” – Exhibited in the Zorrilla Museum, Montevideo, Uruguay and Santos Cultural Palace, Hall Figari, Ministry of Foreign Aﬀairs, Montevideo, Uruguay 2012 – Winner, Young Leader Award at the Annual Meeting of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), Montevideo-Uruguay 2012 – Ministry of Tourism of Uruguay declared “Ensueños Rioplatenses” a National Work 2012 – Exhibition in Fiat Stile Italia Space. Buenos Aires, Argentina 2012 – Vanguardia Latina conference “e Latin Hemispheric Agenda.” Washington, DC 2013 – Casas is currently living and working on “Universal Icons” in Miami, FL.
