Differentiated Instruction Course Description

This course is designed to provide educators with the basis for creating a personal theory of instruction through knowledge of brain functions, and learning styles. In this course, participants will be subjected to interesting specific teaching techniques that would maximize the efficiency of the learning environment.

This course provides the basis for all instructional planning in the schools or other learning settings. Four essential questions regarding curriculum frame the course: What is it? Project Based Learning Course Description

In this course participants will learn how to use the StandardsFocused Project Based Learning Model and align it with subject learning outcome to develop instructional units. During the course, teachers will work through a set of modules designed to teach the five major planning elements of PBL. As a culminating activity, participants will develop a PBL unit for use in their own teaching or training.

Objectives • Be able to develop clear learning outcomes and objectives. • Be able to identify characteristics and attributes of Project Based Learning (PBL). • Be able to align goals and objectives of PBL with subject learning outcome. • Be able to develop formative and summative assessments for monitoring and evaluating PBL units and student outcomes. • Be able to design collaborative learning activities that support student learning in the PBL process.

Teacher Portofolio Course Description

In this course, participants will develop a teaching portfolio that includes their teaching philosophy. The portfolio will act as a dynamic record of teaching experiences in which the participants should keep teaching log, evaluations from preceptors and students, examples of materials provided during their teaching experiences, and self-assessments of each teaching experience. Teachers will be assessed at the end of the course using a standardized evaluation form on developing their own portfolio.
