Introduction
Frrr! Did you hear that? That sounded like a hit or a pitch. That was actually a hit. If you run through this book you will learn the baseball positions, equipment, teams, famous players, baseball rules and championships. If you read this book you will be an expert at baseball!
Catch That Ball Now!
Did you know that there are different positions in baseball? The positions are: short stop, first base, catcher, pitcher, second base, left field, right field, and center field. A short stop stands between 2nd and 3rd bases and stops the infield balls. He can go in the outfield, to 2nd base, and to 3rd base. The first baseman stands at first base and holds his glove out and catches it. The catcher squats behind the plate and gives the pitcher hand signals, telling him what kind of pitch to throw. The pitcher stands on the mound and throws different kinds of pitches like fast balls, cut fast balls, curve balls, knuckle balls, screw balls, plam balls (they go up and then down), slider balls, and sinker balls. The second basemen stands at second base and catches balls to make a double play. Left field stands in the left field and catches pop flies. The right fielder does the same thing as the left fielder, just on the opposite side. The center fielder tries to rob players of home runs by jumping and climbing the wall to catch a home run. Every player keeps each position all the time but if they get injured, a sub takes over for the rest of the season. If you play baseball, don’t be the catcher at all because the balls will come very fast!
Hall of Famers
Guess what? There are famous players that are called Hall of Famers. Ok, Hall of Famers are really really famous players. They
are famous for breaking records and being the best baseball players. A Hall of Famer is like Babe Ruth or Ricky Henderson. Hall of Famers are in a place called the Hall of Fame, located in Cooperstown, New York. You can go and see Ricky Henderson’s spikes and a picture of Babe Ruth calling his shot in the 1932 World Series. Also, you can see a picture of the 1986 World Series when Dale Strawberry hit a single past first baseman Bill Buckner from the Boston Red Sox. If you like baseball, act like a Hall of Famer.
We Got The Trophy
Did you know that there is one exactly one trophy in baseball? The trophy is called the World Series trophy. Its color is silver and there are flags of all the teams in the Major League. The World Series is nine games where two teams play each other to see who is the best in America. One team comes from the American league and the other comes from the National league. The team that wins 4 games first is the winner of the series. The winners spray champagne all over the players in the clubhouse! If you read this book all the time you will be an expert at the World Series trophy.
Best Fans Ever
Every single season fans from all over the world love to watch baseball! When fans watch baseball they get really excited. Like when the team player hits a home run or rob a home run! If you read this paragraph you would be a fan of baseball like me! A fan is a person who cheers for there home team like the Yankees or the Red Sox. It’s hard to be a fan because you have to choose one team and you can’t choose another team because you can’t have two favorite teams. That’s what happened to me with the Yankees , Philles and the RED SOX. If you like to be a fan be one like me SAM SLACKMAN.
DO NOT TOUCH!
You need to play is a bat , batting helmet so you don’t get hit in the head batting gloves, hats , gloves , balls so you can
thow the ball to get the runner out and the stuff for the catcher and there unioforms. If you play baseball you will need all the equipment I told you because if you don’t have the equipment you can’t play baseball. Know you can buy the equipment in the baseball stores in the USA! All the equipment will be a lots of $money. If you have a lot of $ you can buy all of the equipment.
