The mission of NYIT School of Architecture and Design is to deliver 21st-century design education that is technologyinfused and culturally meaningful. Located at campuses in New York City and Long Island, the School of Architecture and Design offers degrees in Architecture, Urban and Regional Design, Architectural Technology, and Interior Design. Our alumni comprise the largest network of licensed architects in New York State. All of our degrees have STEM designation, which provides international graduates with eligibility to apply for an extended OPT visa.
DYNAMIC STUDIO CULTURE
Fostering a dynamic studio culture reflects our approach to enabling a productive, positive, and inspiring learning environment. Diversity is the cornerstone of the student experience at New York Tech, where self-expression and differences in ideas and opinions can thrive. Our studio-based education fosters healthy and productive competition, collaboration, critical thinking, and global citizenship.
NEXT-GENERATION INNOVATION
In an era of climate change and global urbanization, our graduates acquire advanced skills and expertise to address the many challenges facing architects, interior designers, and urban designers. Reaching beyond the studio, workshop, or classroom, we offer opportunities for experiential learning through design-build initiatives. Our students are equipped with skills to work collaboratively across disciplines, contributing to reshaping spatial, material, and cultural practices in the 21st century.
A GLOBAL-NEW YORK CONTEXT
New York City is a unique metropolitan host for our school and a springboard to experience a global perspective of architecture and design. We’ve also participated in international initiatives, traveling studios, study abroad programs, and outreach workshop programs in China, Japan, France, Italy, Germany, Spain, Greece, The Netherlands, Finland, Turkey, Egypt, Israel, Mexico, Puerto Rico, and India.

PROGRAMS
BACHELOR OF SCIENCE IN ARCHITECTURAL TECHNOLOGY (B.S.AT)
This four-year, 132-credit degree program prepares students with advanced skills and expertise in architectural design, building
technology, digital modeling and fabrication, and project integration and management. Students may opt to concentrate their elective credits to pursue a major concentration in Construction Management. The B.S.AT degree creates a path to in-state professional licensure following an additional five years of professional work experience. Graduates of the program are eligible to apply for the two-year track of the professional Master of Architecture (M.Arch.) degree program.
BACHELOR OF ARCHITECTURE (B. ARCH.)
Our professional five-year, 160-credit program offers a rigorous studio-based program of study, devoted to developing each student’s talents, interests, and expertise. The studio sequence offers a hands-on educational experience with a variety of design challenges that reinforce concepts and skills. An optional summer abroad program provides students the opportunity to gain unique insights into architectural, urban, and professional culture in settings rich in historical and contemporary value. Graduates of the B.Arch. program can progress toward examinations for professional licensure, following an additional three years of professional work experience.

Our program’s mission is to create globally engaged, environmentally sensitive, professionally accredited interior designers with intellectual and artistic sensibility and technical proficiency. New York Tech is the only New York City area school that offers accredited degree programs in both interior design and architecture within the same academic unit. Students may opt to concentrate their elective credits to pursue the 4+1-year, 130 + 30-credit B.F.A.ID degree with an M.B.A. concentration.
MASTER OF ARCHITECTURE (M. ARCH.)
The professional Master of Architecture program prepares students for their future careers by offering a sequence of intensive design studios alongside courses focusing on the acquisition of knowledge and skills in advanced technologies for design, fabrication and construction, history, theory, and liberal arts. Our program balances an emphasis on design experimentation and innovation with their consequences consolidated in professional practice in two tracks: • A 2-year, 60-credit track for applicants holding a pre-professional 4-year Bachelor of Science degree in Architecture, Architectural
Technology, or the equivalent. • A 3.5–year, 99-credit track for applicants with an undergraduate degree in other disciplines, without a pre-professional degree in architecture.
MASTER OF SCIENCE IN ARCHITECTURE, URBAN AND REGIONAL DESIGN (M.S.AURD)
This post-professional, 1.5- year, 36-credit program confronts the challenges faced by urban designers within the global context of 21st century urbanism. Through the development of speculative design approaches to sustainability and climatic forces in our rapidly urbanizing world, graduates are equipped with specialist design skills, tools, and expertise. M.S.AURD is open to applicants holding professional degrees in Architecture or Landscape Architecture.
MASTER OF SCIENCE IN ARCHITECTURE, COMPUTATIONAL TECHNOLOGIES
(MS.ACT) Our new one-year, 30-credit post-professional program focuses on advancing innovation through computational paradigms, interactivity, robotics, and fabrication systems applied to architecture. The program culminates in a multidisciplinary project-based studio, challenging students to incorporate experiences from their exploration of algorithms, big data, machine learning, and artificial intelligence. In addition to promoting digital fabrication and physical computation (robotics) skills, the program focuses on research and investigation of materials and construction systems that define architectural building components.
MASTER OF SCIENCE, ARCHITECTURE, HEALTH AND DESIGN (M.S.AHD)
Accelerated technological change and scientific innovations are creating opportunities for designers to experiment with new, augmented and intelligent materials, spaces, and interfaces and to design environments that have more positive effects on our bodies and minds and improve our quality of our life. Our one-year, 30-credit post-professional degree program develops competencies in designing healthy environments through experimentation with material science, health care technologies, analysis and simulation software, data sensing, smart systems and interfaces, 3-D modeling, and fabrication methods.
