About YouthSpeak Forum Latvia 2017

The topic of the Latvia Youth Speak Forum that took place on 29th April 2017 in Riga Congress Hall, is” Activating leadership, Together”. We believe that if young people are given the opportunity to become the best possible versions of themselves, they could not only make a better life for themselves but the world. “Activating Leadership, Together” provides a platform to discuss what skills, competencies, and mindset young people need to develop in today’s world, in order to help them thrive and at the same time, give back to the world.

Speakers of the Day

Speaker of the Day Aigars Rungis Keynote Speaker

Mr.Rungis shared four powerful words to the panel: Sirdsvieta(Place), Sirdslieta(Work). Sirdsapziņa(Conscience) and Sviedri(Sweat). He encouraged the youth to look for the real passion inside themselves. "If you really do what you love, you will always keep polishing." Taking a beer as an example, he mentioned that beeing good is not enough, it should be always excellent. "I think my responsibility is not only to produce good beer. It should be always excellent as you never know in which situation the beer will be served. "

Group B aimed to minimize the gap between education and skills needed for a future career by creating a platform for students to deal with real cases from various stakeholders. The purpose is to support SDG4: Quality Education. Group C supported SDG 12 Responsible Consumption & Production by installing a smart water meter. The winners are from Group B, who received the award from EY and won the free exchange opportunity with AIESEC in Latvia.
