What is Teach Colombia? Teach Colombia is one of the professional teaching internships under AIESEC Canada’s Global Talent program. It is a six-month to twelve monthlong teaching internship in various cities in Colombia. The intern’s responsibilities are mainly to facilitate all the activities and workshops through practical English lessons, be part of the implementation of cultural awareness events, such as “Global Villages”, “Country Talks”, presentations, workshops, meetings and other activities, and others tasks as required.
Why teach abroad? Teaching English to children means increasing their chances of success in their academic and professional lives. Teaching abroad also enables you to see the world and return home with the satisfaction of having contributed to a local community, and experience a new culture as no tourist can!
Why teach English in Colombia? Colombia has experienced intensive economic, social and cultural development for the past decade and has transformed into a major economic hub of Latin American region. Like many countries throughout the world, Colombia is experiencing an English language boom. Colombia shares in the increasing demand for qualified and motivated English teachers. Many Colombians are separated from quality employment simply due to their lack of English skills and your work in this project will fundamentally transform their potentials.

About Colombia Colombia is a tropical country of incredible diversity and charm. Its ever-changing geography, a history loaded with mystery and adventure, and its people and cultures have fascinated the world for centuries. Twice the size of France, and with a diversity of landscapes and cultures that would be hard to find even in countries five times its size.

Responsibilities •Facilitate all the activities and workshops through practical English lessons •Implement and follow up the project agenda, attending and preparing learning environments among 100 public schools
•Be part of the implementation of cultural awareness events •Contribute to the “showcasing” of the project willing to share thoughts and •Reflections on the experience and general perception of childhood education in the city

Requirements •Under 29 years of age •Legally single •Current or recently graduated student at a Canadian university •Graduation date of 2013 or later •Native or excellent English skills •Academic background required

What is
?
AIESEC’s Global Talent program is an intercultural internship program powered by AIESEC that gives university students and recent graduates the opportunity to take on an international professional development experience. Internships are available in a variety of countries, in a variety of work settings: from small start-up companies, to non-governmental organizations, to multinational corporations from around the world. Internships can last from 3 - 18 months and are designed to give you the professional development experience that will take you one step further in your career, while the experience of living abroad will allow you to grow into the person you have always wanted to be.
Global Talent Teaching Internships In teaching internships, you will work in a school, university or small company educating students on a variety of subjects, most commonly English language education. You will be responsible for the students’ learning and well-being. Students range from young children to adults. A teaching background is not required. The duration of Teaching internships ranges from 3 - 12 months. Salaries range from $0-900 USD, depending on the internship.
