What AIESEC wants from you: 

Leadership ambition or experience

We believe that leaders are not merely individuals that hold a position, but simply people who see where they can make a contribution and take action. AIESEC offers many challenging leadership roles for individuals that are prepared to take responsibility for acting to make things happen. 

Global ambition or experience

AIESEC provides many opportunities for individuals to gain global experiences, by attending international conferences, working with colleagues around the world, and living and working abroad through our internship program. 

Desire to contribute to and lead change in the global community

AIESEC creates an environment where you can develop your practical skills and challenge your perspectives about yourself and the forces shaping our global community. AIESEC enables individuals to acquire both the skills and vision needed to drive change in the global community.

AIESEC`s Leadership Approach:

This is the process AIESEC uses to ensure that every member develops their leadership potential. When you first join AIESEC you enter the I2A stage to get familiar with the organization. Then members enter the TR stage once they are aligned with a certain portfolio in the organization and begin to take on new roles and tasks. During the next stage, members can either choose to take on an X or LR stage or both! The LR stage is when members step up to take leadership roles over a team of individuals and head projects and initiatives. The X stage means that members go on an exchange with our global internship program. You can choose to do one or the other, or both—in any order! The last stage is H4TF when we prepare you to enter the next stage of your career.

I2A: -Learn about AIESEC -Participate in personal development trainings TR: -Take on a Job Description -Choose a portfolio to work in -Participate in tasks and responsibilities X: -Go on exchange almost anywhere in the world -Learn and experience new cultures LR: -Lead a team of 3-5 people -Facilitate trainings to your members, delegates at conferences H4TF: -Take what you’ve learned from AIESEC to further your career

David Chan in Taiwan with his new AIESEC friends!

Steps of a Traineeship Selection and application  After joining and understanding AIESEC, you can enter a review process to assess your experiences and motivation for doing an AIESEC exchange. Preparation: AIESEC provides countless resources, trainings and support to prepare you to live and work in another country. This includes Visa processing. Integration: AIESEC members in your host chapter provide support and assistance in getting setup while providing opportunities for cultural and social activities. Re-integration: AIESEC supports you in making the readjustment process when you return home. During selection, you will be expected to attend a review board which is a panel of interviewers made up of past and current interns, AIESEC alumni, professional employers and educational professionals. Each review board consists of 2-5 panelists. Once you pass the review board, you will need to pay a $415.00 processing fee in order to be entered into the worldwide database where you will be able to search and select job opportunities.

Testimonials “My name is Andrea Weerdenburg and my two months in Uganda have been a blast so far. The AIESECers here are great, and have made this internship more than I could have asked for. Another intern here is from Ottawa, and she even knows some of the AIESEC Guelph crew. There is a lot more freedom in the internship than I expected prior to arriving. The atmosphere is great and the people are even better! Living in Uganda is very different than anywhere I've ever lived before, and I'm really enjoying it. It's hard to know that there is so much work that needs to be completed at HCCP where I am working, and that I have to leave and come back to University. But, I'm trying to make the most of the time that I have here! After coming here I know that traveling and working is invaluable; you learn so much about yourself and the world especially in a place like this. Great experience so far... It will be weird to come home and have people not call me "muzungu" anymore!”
