Founded in 1591 , Hyderabad is one of the oldest but most developed cities in the country.
Modern Hyderabad is characterized by its cosmopolitan and metropolitan nature. A true blend of modernization and authentic culture, Hyderabad is best know as Cyberabad, City of Pearls and Bhagyanagar.

HERITAGE OF HYDERABAD Established in 1591, our city has a rich and extensive history. It was first ruled by the Qutb Shahi Dynasty for almost a century, the Mughals overthrew them, then the Nizams came about and presided till the British regime. That legacy is also evident in the city's distinctive cuisine, which includes Hyderabadi biriyani and Hyderabadi haleem. It was also a flourishing trade center with some of the traditional bazaars, including Laad Bazaar, Begum Bazaar and Sultan Bazaar, still existing.

Charminar is as much the signature to Hyderabad as Eiffel tower is of Paris . Built in 1591 as the centre of the original city layout, this Architectural splendour is illuminated in the evening and is a sight to see. There are some very old and famous markets located in the streets which sell some exquisite variety of jewellery and clothing, like Laad Bazaar and Begum Bazaar.

One of famous forts in India , Golconda fort is known for its acoustics, characteristic of the engineering marvels, and ingenious water supply system. The unique Sound & Light Show takes you right back in time, when Golconda was full of life, glory and grandeur, to narrate it’s glorious past. The view from atop the fort is remarkable.

The palace has 220 lavishly decorated rooms and 22 spacious halls. It has some of the finest treasure collections of the Nizams. Falaknuma has a large collection of rare treasures including paintings, statues, furniture, manuscripts and books. The famed dining hall could seat 100 guests at its table.

Chowmahalla Palace or Chowmahallat (4 Palaces), is a palace of the Nizams of Hyderabad. The palace is unique for its style and elegance. This palace consists of two courtyards, southern and northern with beautiful fountains and gardens.

Excavated in 1562, the Hussain Sagar lake has a promenade that has a busy thoroughfare today. One of the World’s tallest monolithic statues of the Buddha stands in the middle of the lake . Surrounded by excellent entertainment options like Eat Street, Prasads-IMAX, Jal Vihar, NTR Gardens, etc. It is a must go place for refreshing yourself in the evening after a long tiring day.

This massive dreamscape vibrant with flamboyant locales and picturesque avenues is spread across 2000 acres and certified by the Guinness World Records as the world’s largest film studio complex . Ramoji Film City attracts over a million tourists every year.

Spanning over 300 lush green acres, the Nehru Zoological Park is a must for nature lovers. It has over 250 species of animals and birds, most of which are kept in conditions as close to their natural habitats as possible. Hire a bicycle and just ride through the area to catch stunning glimpses of the innumerable creatures in there.

FINANCIAL INFORMATION The currency in India is Indian Rupee. If you a GIP trainee, the salary you earn will be enough to cover your basic expenses. But you won’t get paid till the end of first month of work and it is always advisable to carry cash. We suggest you to bring U.S dollars or traveler's cheque and exchange them in the airport. Credit cards are accepted in many places but you should always carry some cash.

Unless you travel around the city, you wouldn’t get a wholesome experience of Hyderabad. Hyderabad is a big city and is well connected through different modes of transport. Pushpak Airport Liners are luxurious buses which is the best option for you to come to the city in the most safe and comfortable way. These buses ply from 5:00 am to 10:00 pm post which it is recommended for you to stay in the airport and take the next first bus. You are requested to take a bus from Airport to ‘Paryatak Bhavan, Begumpet’ from where an AIESEC’er would be present to welcome you.

KEY TO A SUCCESSFUL INTERNSHIP
20 Broad-Mindedness: You are going to be living in a new society with different perceptions and beliefs from where you might come from. It’s best not to be very judgmental about whatever you notice but accept it in the best way possible. Adaptable : Living in a new environment with a different lifestyle is not easy.
