AIESEC İzmir was established in 1967. The aim of AIESEC İZMİR is to give lots of leadership opportunities and to contribute for university students who want to improve their personal development.


Bridging the East and the West, the country is surrounded by the Black Sea to the north, the Aegean to the west and the Mediterranean to the south. Two straits (the Bosphorus and the Dardanelle) form gates to the inner Marmara Sea, dividing Thrace - the European part of the country and Anatolia – the Asian part of the country. Today the Turkish State is a parliamentary democratic country employing a self-governing system. The capital is Ankara, in the heart of the country. Mustafa Kemal, who is known as Ataturk also, is founder of the Republic of Turkey as well as its first President. Istanbul is the largest city of the country and one of the fascinating cities of the country also. Every year so many tourists from different countries visit this exciting city. There are another touristic cities in Turkey. Such as Izmir, Antalya, Nevsehir, Edirne, Konya, Mardin. Turkey is also cradle of the ancient cultures, including the Hittites, Phrygians,Urartians, Lycians, Lydians, Ionians,, Byzantines, Seljuks and Ottomans. There are many historical places like mosques, churches, palaces, castles and towers around the Turkey.


Izmir is a large metropolis in the western extremity of Anatolia and the third most populous city in Turkey. The ancient city was known as Smyrna, and the city was generally referred to as Smyrna in English, until the Turkish Postal Services Law of 1930 made "Izmir" the internationally recognized name. Lying on an advantageous location at the head of a gulf running down in a deep indentation midway on the western Anatolian coast, the city has been one of the principal mercantile cities of the Mediterranean Sea for much of its history. Also the city is known for its beautiful beaches, ancient places & ruines, touristic villages, and cultural diversity.


Prices

Transportation İzmir has an integrated pre-pay ticket, the Kentkart (Citycard). The card is valid on metro (subway), buses, ferries and certain other municipal facilities. The Kentkart allows use of multiple forms of transport within a 90minute window for the price of a single fare. For transportation inside the city: 2,25 TL - 0,80 $ Also you can download ‘’Trafi Türkiye’’ application on your mobile phones.

Climate İzmir has a Mediterranean climate which is characterized by long, hot and dry summers; and mild to cool, rainy winters. The average maximum temperatures during the winter months vary between the low-to-mid 10 °C (50 °F). During summer, the air temperature can climb as high as 40 °C (104 °F) from June to September, however the average maximum temperatures ranges between the low-tomid 30°C (86 °F)

Cuisine İzmir's cuisine has largely been affected by its multicultural history, hence the large variety of food originating from the Aegean and Mediterranean regions. There is considerable culinary usage of green leaf vegetables and wild plants amongst the residents. Some of the common dishes found here are the tarhana soup (made from dried yoghurt and tomatoes), "İzmir" köfte, and mücver (made from zucchini and eggs). A Sephardic contribution to the Turkish cuisine, Boyoz and lokma are pastries associated with İzmir. Kumru is a special kind of sandwich that is associated particularly with the Çeşme district.

You will surely need to have travel insurance before coming to Turkey. No matter how much it costs in your country, it is mandatory to have your insurance. You have to send a copy of your formalinsurance form before you come via mail, fax etc


Myself My World Project aims to make high school students more aware of themselves and the world issues which is running nationally every year in Turkey. We have vision as AIESEC so this vision about the young people’s future such as you know. As AIESEC İzmir we want to increase high school students’ abilities by providing international leraning circles and team work challenges. Interns will work with our young friends and organize learning circles. They will have opportunity to share their knowledge and experience in summer camps.

ROLE OF THE INTERNS IN THE PROJECT Each interns will be a leader of a little group which consists of high school students. Interns will lead them and will be responsible of 5-6 students. Interns will make presentations and workshops about their culture, democracy, education system, personal development, presentation skills, effective communication etc. These presentations need to include lots of interesting informations about the country that you are coming from.

We are looking a person who;

has presentation skills, can communicate with high school students, is friendly and talkative, is creative, wants to have FUN!

Blue Aegean Tour is the most prestigious tour that has been organized by AIESEC Turkey for 38 years. In this tour, members and interns of AIESEC in Turkey have chance to see unique nature and earthly goods of Aegean Territory. WHAT IS OUR DESTINATIONS?

The shrine of House of Virgin Mary is the goal of many pilgrimages as well as group excursions. The shrine offers a place where, even for a brief moment, you can stop and rest. The shrine offers weary wanderers both corporal and spiritual refreshment. Those who come here looking for the presence of Mary, along with the desire to continue to meditate upon God's Word and enjoy the unique atmosphere that prevails in. Her home, wiill discover and the opportunities offered by this place.

Ephesus which was established as a port, was used to be the most important commercial centre. It played a great role in the ancient time with its strategic location. Ephesus is located on a very fertile valley. Ephesus, once, the trade center of the ancient world, has been a religious centre of the early Chiristianity and today, Ephesus is an important tourism centre in Turkey.

The Village of Şirince is a place that has managed to preserve and protect its heritage. The houses that reflect village architecture are built of Stone and brick have multiple windows,two floors and balconies proportionate to the sizes of the windows. In Şirince, Orthodox Christians as well as the Muslim population pay visits to the House of Virgin Mary on August 15 every year. Şirince is a village full of nostalgia with its locally produced wine, traditional cuisine and authentic life style

Kuşadası is one of Turkey's most popular holiday resorts, offers an excellent environment for an unforgettable holiday. Situated on the west coast of Turkey 90km south of Izmir, Kusadasi, is reputed as one of the most attractive cities of the Aegean, as it is close to the important historical places. Kuşadası has a typical Mediterranean climate with hot summers and mild winters, providing a long tourism season.
