Professional Development

Team Experience

...and a lot of fun!

As a member of AIESEC, you will be challenged to explore your strenghts and weaknesses, you will learn how to work in a diverse and international team environment, and you will learn to become solution oriented.

AIESEC has multiple influential partners on a global, national and local level. We work closely with these companies, who offer trainings and development spaces for our members. Among our partners are companies such as McKinsey, Randstad or Bain & Company.

The Executive Board (EB), consiting of the full time members is a team that is working together closely. This leads to a close and unique team experience. Furthermore, you might be leading a team of 3-7 part-time members.

Every Tuesday night, after team meeting and committee meeting, we meet at the Ma van Sloun for drinks. Throughout the year, there are two national conferences, two weekends with the entire local committee and multiple national activities. You will make friends for life!

What is the Executive Board (EB)? The EB is the leading body of AIESEC in Maastricht. As an EB’er, you are responsible for one of the operational units of the local committee. This means that you will implement and develop new strategies, track performance and manage and lead a team of part-time board members. An EB function also involves responsibilities on a national level, for example to cooperation with other EBs or the national board. EB’ers work from our office in the Student Services Center every weekday. Furthermore, the entire Local Committee meets every Tuesday evening for team meetings, LC meetings and afterwards drinks at the Ma van Sloun. There are also regular meetings with the rest of the national network, national conferences and team weekends, which are usually both functional and fun. You will definitely meet many different people, and make connections that last longer than just your board year! During the summer, AIESEC’s processes and operations diminish in intensity. You are not expected to work full-time, but we do recommend you to spend some time working during the summer. It’s perfectly possible to go on a holiday, but take the time to get to know your team, try to familiarise yourself with your responsibilities and make sure you are well prepared for the big start in September. Being an EBer gives you the unique opportunity to be in a position in which you hold responsibility to make important decisions, can implement your own ideas and have an impact on the people around you. In AIESEC, we believe that we can make the world a better place, little by little, and as an EBer you can play an important role in this!
