V. TESTIMONIALS

The stories from our EPs‌

“The project that I volunteered for involved working with local NPO's to teach underprivileged children English; that was the surface of the project. However I later learned that much of the project wasn't about teaching these children English but more about having them learn about the world other than what they knew in Vietnam, introduce them to new things, allow them to experience something new and different that they couldn't do otherwise which would encourage them to want to learn more about the world. The project was very much in line with the values of AIESEC where we not only teach children liberality and curiosity but also interact with the students and staff of AIESEC to allow mutual understanding of one another's cultures; differences and similarities, which would foster peace and friendship. I am quite frankly not sure how to explain my impressions but I think to sum it all concisely the things I think about when I reminisce is not the food or the places I visited and saw or crazy traffic or even what I was teaching in class but the people. If I think about Vietnam then the only thing I think about is the people I met; the students, teachers, interns and AIESECers. To me personally to have walked away with such fond kinds of memories meant the entire project was a success regardless of any difficulties I had which are minor in comparison to what I've experienced. AN INTERN OF MISSION TO CHANGE LIVES

“Vietseed Foundation definitely has a huge positive impact on the society because this foundation is to provide scholarship for the poor students to continue their journey in university. The most memorable moment is when I took a video of the students, they thanked me sincerely and this is the feeling that I would never forget. They thank me for coming to Vietnam to teach them, to talk with them, and to guide them. This is the first time I feel I'm actually creating some impacts on the society, whether it's big or small, it matters.

After joining this project, I found myself to be more proactive and open-minded. By exchanging experience and knowledge with each other, I learn to see things from different perspectives. And yeah, I used to be taking things for granted but after blending with the students and knowing their situations, I learn to be more satisfied. They strive for their lives, while I just wandering around and have no life goals. But now, I feel the urgency to reset my values, this is the biggest life lesson that I have gained by joining this voluntary project. To be honest, AIESEC RMIT is one of the best AIESEC branches that I have been communicated with. The members are responsible and caring to the EPs. They make sure that we have no problem while in Vietnam. (Thank you AIESEC RMIT!). By adapting myself to a different environment, I've become more independent now. I learnt to care about others, to be more patient when talking to people, and lend my hand whenever they need help because I realise that a small deed from me can actually make their day. “I really enjoy the Spanish courses from Global Passport. This course does not only provide me Spanish language but also the cultures of Spanish-speaking countries through many activities in-class as well as outside. With the cultural knowledge blended in language class, I feel like I have a deeper knowledge about the language and how it is practiced in those countries. In class, we also learn new vocabularies by songs, which is more entertained and easier to remember the words. My teacher, Maria, is very friendly. We usually hang out in coffee shops, food shops, where we can introduce her about Vietnamese food and she also introduces us about Spanish food. I wish Global Passport can open Intermediate class for its next phrase.

AN ATTENDEE OF GLOBAL PASSPORT 2

“In the last 4 amazing days, I've learned many useful things such as how to improve my English, how to work effectively in a group, how to give and execute my idea and the greatest is knowing that I can do anything if I really want to do it, I can make my plans, my dreams and whatever I want come true because I'M POSSIBLE! This camp is really meaningful. It made me more self-confident and after this camps, I have many lovely friends. 4 days aren't long but I really miss it when leaving. To all the AIESECers, interns, and campers, I will miss you so much, I will never forget our meaningful days, our games, our projects, our conversations. Hope all of you will success in your lives. The last thing I want to say is, ‘I want to be an AIESECer! And I will make it come true!’” Ngoc Do
