Winter Exchange Fair

in Universitas Sebelas Maret

What happened in September? Each year, the International Day of Peace (or sometimes known as World Peace Day) is commemorated around the world on 21 September. It is dedicated to world ideals of peace, and specifically the absence of war and violence, both within and among all nations and peoples. And of course you all remember that Peace and Fulfillment of Humankind's Potential is what AIESEC envisions, thus our programs lead you to create peace through these vast opportunities:

Did you know? To inaugurate the day, this year, the United Nations Secretariat staffs mark the occasion by joining in formations which read, “What R U Doing 4 Peace? around the Circle in front of the UN Headquarters in New York.

As a part of national project, AIESEC UNS project based on exchange (Pbox) ENTREVOLUTION held an entrepreneur seminar sponsored by Shell, to support young people to do entrepreneurship named LiveWIRE Seminar. The first seminar was held on 12th June with main focus to introduce the participants about how to start to be an entrepreneur. The second one was held on 12th September with the headline: Becoming Successful Owner Manager (BSOM), its main focus is how to handle the company that they built. Two of the speakers were the owner of Le Budget and Ali Akbar from Vivere CafÊ. These seminars were attended by more than 50 participants and also attended by 4 EPs from India and Mexico who joined AIESEC UNS’s EntreVolution Project.

One of the events which AIESEC often held is Global Village. There are two kinds of Global Village; inviting EP Returnees to share their experiences abroad and probably souvenirs or food they’ve brought when they went exchange, and the other is one which invites EP from many countries who are doing projects here in our LC (Solo, Indonesia).

Last September 15, AIESEC in UNS held a Global Village where there were 10 EPs from Incoming Exchange from Mexico, Germany, Egypt, Colombia, and Czech Republic. It is meant to close the Green Revolutioon project and consists of the opening speech by the OC President, cultural performances by each countries (stories from Egypt, dance from Colombia and Mexico, etc.), followed by OCP who handed the certificates to EPs. and in the end of the event we also got a chance taste the food they brought from their country and took pictures with them. The event, took place in Taman Cerdas Technopark, was so huge and attended by students and citizens around UNS and Surakarta.
