Description : Observation and study of animal movements were conducted and students are to choose any animal or plant and abstract it’s characteristics to form a biomimicry design. I have chosen to study the Armadillo signature shell contraction features
Material : Leather, Cotton cloth, wire, plastic tubing, foam
First step was to form the outer shell using foam and leather. The shell shape is derived from prototypes which is in ac accordance to it’s placing and movement After calculating and prototyping with paper, I cut a cotton cloth and sew wires in the lines that assist in forming will assi the shape and also become its bones to compress and expand like an Armadillo. Le The Leather Panels are then sewn into place. This is the form when placed on flat surface. The Panels are closed up. It expands when placed on the head

Large Size Projects Description: There is an empty plot of land behind our faculty in UiTM Puncak Alam. Facilities of cafe, hostels, faculty and surau is available. But there is no student centre where students of studio base could spend their time during breaks or after class. Design Statement : ‘Fragment of Imaginarium’‘ is a play on a proverb ‘Figment of Imagination’. The proverb means to make up something out of someone’s mind which is ‘imagination’. This centre allows dierent fragments of design students ( art and architecture base) to gather into a place that could inspire creativity Proposed Site : UiTM Puncak Alam , Selangor

FORM MAKING
Design : Year 4 Description : Site Analysis were carried out in groups in the Bintawa village. A village across the Kuching town and Riverfront. From the analysis, students were to design a low rise housing for the current community living there Design Statement : Al Sirat is ‘Bridge’ in arabic. Thus this is a low rise housing that provides connection and ease of access and gives ample space for the community to bridge their connection to their family, community and tourist. Since most residents are Malays, who are of Islamic religion, hence the play on the Arab word.
Culturally Malay communities are family oriented. They interact with family members and friends over meals, play time and just enjoying the River view. The location in the heart of Kuching city and across the Kuching Riverfront is known as a thriving tourist attraction where tourist could visit craft centres, walk among malay houses, and especially buy cake ‘lapis’ Sarawak. The man of the village mostly like to hang out outdoors, and some are fishermen or boatmens of the river where they provide river taxi services daily.
