Community Giving Day

In 2022, during Melanoma Awareness Month in May, the AIM at Melanoma Foundation partnered with three stores in Florida for their Community Giving Day.

In 2023 and 2024, we had the honor of expanding this partnership to encompass all 19 stores across Florida, significantly benefiting our Foundation.

We provided each of the 19 stores with 50 complimentary sunscreen packets and informative rack cards about sun safety for both adults and children to distribute to customers.

Expanding Our Partnership AIM at Melanoma Foundation and Lilly Pulitzer

Imagine the transformative impact we could achieve by extending our initiatives beyond Florida!

AIM at Melanoma is excited about the possibility of extending our partnership with Lilly Pulitzer in 2025 and bringing other states into this crucial initiative for sun safety. May, Melanoma Awareness Month, presents an ideal time to elevate our campaign and increase awareness on a grand scale.

This partnership represents a powerful opportunity to illuminate the importance of melanoma prevention and awareness across the nation. It's a collaboration that not only highlights a critical cause but also aligns seamlessly with Lilly Pulitzer's commitment to positive community impact.

Sun safety is especially relevant for Lilly Pulitzer’s audience, a brand celebrated for its bright, sun-drenched fashion and outdoor sophistication. With a customer base that cherishes time spent outdoors from beach days to poolside relaxation and open-air gatherings focusing on sun safety naturally complements their lifestyle. Emphasizing proper sun protection is key in our joint effort to prevent skin cancer, including melanoma, the most lethal form of skin cancer.

Through expanding our partnership, we aim to educate and empower more people about crucial sun safety measures and raise awareness about this often overlooked disease. Our objective is to lower skin cancer rates and ensure everyone can safely enjoy the sunshine.

Together, with Lilly Pulitzer's support and the dedication of your customers, we are poised to significantly influence public health and cultivate a sun safety culture that aligns with the lively, active lifestyle embodied by the Lilly Pulitzer brand

In championing sun safety and melanoma prevention, our partnership aspires to create a lasting, meaningful impact, safeguarding our communities against the dangers of skin cancer

We are the trusted advisors for medical boards, government agencies, and pharmaceutical companies on critical topics that affect melanoma patients.

A Quick Primer

Melanoma, the most serious type of skin cancer, has become a rising concern, with diagnosis rates soaring over the past 30 years and outpacing nearly all other cancers.

It's now one of the most common cancers among young adults in the U.S.

100,640 people in the United States are expected to be diagnosed with new melanomas in 2024 about 59,170 men and 41,470 women.

Lighter skin color and overexposure to UV light from the sun or tanning beds are major risk factors for melanoma.

Women under 50 are more likely to develop melanoma than any other cancer, except breast or thyroid cancer.

Melanoma and various forms of skin cancer are notably more prevalent among individuals with fair skin and numerous freckles.

In women, melanoma tends to occur more frequently on the lower body, especially the legs.

Exposure to ultraviolet (UV) radiation from the sun is a major risk factor for melanoma skin cancer.

Next Steps

Let’s start a conversation! Our goal is to collaborate with Lilly Pulitzer stores nationwide, aiming to be the chosen beneficiary for your Community Giving Day in May 2025. With our partnership, we hope to promote your brand and products while also raising funds for our organization.

Your Community Giving Day is the perfect opportunity for us to work together towards a common goal. Not only will it bring attention to your brand's commitment to giving back, but it will also give your customers a chance to support a great cause while shopping at your store.

As a non-profit organization, we rely heavily on the generosity of companies like Lilly Pulitzer to continue making a difference in our communities. Your support through this partnership would mean so much to us and would truly make a lasting impact.

We look forward to working together and creating a successful Community Giving Day next May that will benefit both of our organizations. Thank you for considering this opportunity and we look forward to hearing from you soon.

Sincerely,

Have Fun in the Sun Without the Damage
