MISSY KINS RESEARCH EDITORIAL CRUSH: GIRL POWER Diana Gomez is a Venezuelan-born photographer, filmmaker based in London. Her passionate portraits, strong use of colour and fun narratives are her signatures. Having shot countless fashion and beauty editorials, she's also photographed celebs such as Rihanna and Taylor Swift. Diana recently shot an editorial in London for Harper’s Bazaar Hong Kong’s September issue. The theme of the shoot is Girl Power - aside from featuring three fierce ladies, the shoot was styled by Karen Binns and the whole production team were women - this made for an unmistakable celebration of women, for women. The editorial is resplendent in print, colour and attitude – with strong styling that featured a lot of MISSY SKINS’ custom embroidered jewellery.
Harpers Bazaar Turkey Jan 2017 Issue Supermodel Hilary Rhoda takes the cover story of Harper’s Bazaar Turkey‘s January 2017 edition captured by fashion photographer Matallana. Styling is work of Sarah Gore Reeves, with beauty from hair stylist Felix Fischer, and makeup artist Rie Omoto. Inspiration taken from Sports wear showing Powerful women working out!
FEMINSIM First research shows styling images taken from Pinterest, Vogue and editorial photoshoots for styling inspiration to show examples of how styling can express Feminism by wearing certain clothes to relate to the meaning. During the process of these mood boards, I decided to show a couple of ways on styling examples and also how to express Feminism whether it being extra or minimal.
GIRL POWER
Second research shows images taken from Pinterest and Tumblr of women slaying the world ‘Girl Power’. The images behind the styling is to be fierce, bold, empowering and mainly to stand out, hence the bright pinks (Women's colour) proving women rule the world. The main reason behind the styling is to express the meaning of Girl Power through the styling of the clothing.
LOCATION IDEA After researching into the styling of Feminism and Girl Power, I decided to then research into location idea’s around the Manchester area, ideally inspired by art, bold and a edgy vibe which will link into the styling and the meanings behind Feminism and Girl Power. From taking the location primary research into consideration. Northern Quarter was the best suited for the theme and the styling.

ADRIANA FOR VOGUE ITALIA JUNE 2014 THE FASHION’S ATHLETE The highly noted fashion photographer Steven Meisel is the man behind the lens of Vogue Italia’s June 2014 caption of the stunning Adriana Lima. Striped socks, boxing gloves and a cheeky smile, the victoria secret angel, Lima is getting her sport gear on for Meisel’s charming spread. Meisel has along with stylist Carlyne Cerf de Dudzeele created a story where fashion meets athleticism. Killer heels are put together with Nike shorts, sweats and caps to shape a more literal meaning of sporty chic.

FINAL OUTCOME
After researching and taking inspiration from different stylist and photographers lead to the final outcome showing female models in primarily male environments to show our male consumers that male and females can be seen as equal. These are some styling mood boards to show the current theme going to be used.
