BEYOND BLUE & 300 TIMES Beyond Blue is the national initiative to raise awareness of mental health (anxiety and depression), providing resources for recovery, management and resilience. 300TIMES believes that mental health is incredibly important in maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Exercising is a key way of improving mental health. 300TIMES Beyond Blue are both for the promotion and awareness of mental health. Together the two have partnered to create Moving Minds.
WHAT IS MOVING MINDS? 300TIMES and Beyond Blue have teamed up to create Moving Minds. Moving Minds promotes exercise for a better mental health. Moving Minds encourages getting out there and staying active. This has been done through six cause related elements: • • • • • •

2014 MOVING MINDS PATTERN
WHAT IS IT? This print has been hand drawn and linoprinted exclusively for Moving Minds. The print will be used in all design for Moving Minds 2015. As well as the prints, 300TIMES has released a limited edition running t-shirt to aid this years promotion of staying active and mental health. The pattern is bold and bright, just like postitive mental health. It encorporates colours of both Beyond Blue and 300TIMES. This print is up to the viewers interperatation, but purely about being active.

Join with friends and family for a scenic 5km lighthouse walk or run. Moving Minds fun run is about getting outside, being active while having fun. All money raised will go directly to Beyond Blue to help raise awareness for the first signs of depression as well has helping people take preventative measures to combat depression.

The event will run during this years Mental Health Week. The event will be advertised through digital and print media. Including Facebook and posters. 300TIMES will also have a section of their shop set up dedicated to selling the Moving Minds t-shirt and promoting the fun run

Be active to improve mental health. Promoting exercise for better mental health.
Apart from changing brain activity, other things that may help explain the benefits of exercise include: • The person experiences a boost to their self-esteem because they take an active role in their own recovery • Some forms of exercise, are also social events • Physical activity burns up stress chemicals, like adrenaline, which promotes a more relaxed state of mind. • An enjoyable bout of exercise may be distracting enough to break the vicious cycle of pessimistic thinking.
There are also many physical benefits of regular exercise. These include: • improved cardiovascular fitness • reduced risk of premature death • reduced cholesterol level • reduced blood pressure • maintenance of healthy weight • improved muscle tone.

Research suggests that regular exercise may be effective in preventing depression and also in treating mild depression. Regular exercise alters brain chemistry and leads to improved mood and feelings of wellbeing. Moving Minds aims to improve mental health through staying active this Mental Health Week.
