This diary is a visual record of a two-month residency in Milan: ‘Waiting For Expo 2015’. Using a collection of images this diary aims to give an insight into the thoughts and feelings of the artist whilst living in Milan. Through moving around the city taking photographs Cramp has created a bank of pictorial references. This collection of visual research gives an insight into the influences and experiences that went on to form the basis of the exhibition created at the end of residency. All images are taken by Cramp as a direct response to the changing social structures and architectural landscape of the city. As part of his research he also travelled to Matera to consider similar issues in a different part of Italy. The diary concludes with documentation of the exhibition created at the end of the residency. The exhibition consists of an installation entitled ‘Grass is always Greener’ which housed two photographic collage works, ‘Green Dream’ and “Emerald City’.
